Chapter 725: Chapter 725: Burned Through
In that blast of Special Ability Fire, Lu Hao did not skimp on injecting his ability to the utmost limit, causing the flame’s color to deepen even more.
“I’ve been meaning to say, Mr. Lu’s Fire Element Ability seems a bit different,”
David remarked. It wasn’t just reflected in the color, but also in a certain energy they could feel.
“Yeah, but in the end, it still seems useless, huh? These zombie cockroaches… they don’t burn to death?”
Qiao’s sigh turned into a question.
They had been prepared for the small zombie cockroaches to crawl out from its abdomen after the attack, but in that two-meter-high flame, the giant zombie cockroach’s figure was actually collapsing?
“Oh, my God.”
Jerome was stunned as crackling and popping sounds came from the fire, along with a stench of charring; the big guy inside was indeed shrinking.
Lu Hao walked back toward his family without looking backward, his back to the still fiercely burning fire.
“Brother-in-law, it’s dead,”
Qiqi said with a smile.
Qiao looked at the Heart Talk Team walking towards the minibus, then at Hansen’s group getting down from the SUV, and still led everyone back towards the minibus.
Even though Su Jin was also watching the battle from inside the vehicle, she was simultaneously controlling the Mutated Moss’ progress, because a large swarm of zombie cockroaches kept rushing out, which also slowed down the Mutated Moss’ advance quite a bit.
“Mr. Lu, over there…”
Morris didn’t know how to ask Lu Hao, Are they just going to ignore what’s happening outside?
“Two minutes,”
Lu Hao responded.
“That’s pretty fast, mine will be slower,”
Su Jin said with a smile, and she had no idea how many more zombie cockroaches were still inside.
“Glad I didn’t cause a big mistake,”
Nie Qing was still frightened, thinking that it would have been a disgrace if those little cockroaches had landed on their family.
“Don’t make it sound like we’re all very weak,”
Lin Cheng patted Nie Qing on the shoulder consolingly, it was just a matter of defense.
“You’re on dish duty today,”
Lu Guanhai saw his chance to tease Nie Qing a bit.
“Absolutely, no problem,”
Nie Qing quickly agreed, it seemed he was genuinely scared by the earlier incident.
“Without the teacher finding its weakness, I probably couldn’t have handled it,”
Lu Hao looked at the gradually diminishing fire outside and spoke.
Nie Qing smiled sheepishly and followed everyone’s gaze outside. Two minutes must be about up, right?
While the Heart Talk Team was chatting, the others were closely watching the giant zombie cockroach outside. But they soon realized, that the giant cockroach really seemed to have been burned to death!
Only when the flames finally died down and a pile of black ash appeared on the open ground, did everyone start to cheer with surprise and disbelief.
It really was burned away!
“That’s incredible, almost unimaginable!”
Qiao exclaimed.
Hansen’s group too stared at the ash on the ground, that Huaxia man’s Special Ability Fire had burned the giant zombie cockroach’s hard shell into ash!
“Wow,”
Bruno looked at the ground and then at Hansen’s expression.
It seemed Hansen had miscalculated this time; Huaxia people weren’t as easy to mess with as they had thought.
“We should head back and wait, see how long that girl’s Wood Element Ability can last,”
Dolly said, then went back to the SUV.
This mission was actually easy, initially the most dangerous one they had ever undertaken, and now it had turned into the easiest—they really didn’t know why Xius sent them along.
Hansen just glanced in the direction of the minibus and followed the others back.
“By the way, Reese, what were you going to say to me just now?”
Qiao suddenly asked.
Reese opened his mouth, then glanced at the members of the Heart Talk Team who were still talking, and said, “Let’s talk about it later tonight, it’s not something to be happy about.”
After all, it concerned the Nickle Family, and he had sworn lifelong loyalty to them.
“David, could you drive the car a bit further in?”
Su Jin asked, wanting to check the situation inside. As long as they drove along the moss, it wouldn’t be dangerous.
“Of course, dear Miss Su,”
David replied obligingly.
The car could only reach the third house at the entrance of the village before they could no longer continue forward because the mutated moss had piled up half a meter high in front of them, with a dense swarm of zombie cockroaches behind it.
The swarm of zombie cockroaches was tens of layers thick, frantically trying to cross over the mutated moss.
“There are too many of them, I really want to give them a taste of fire,”
Yves said, having watched Lu Hao’s battle with blood boiling as a fellow Fire Element wielder, but now he didn’t dare to go down recklessly, fearing that once the zombie cockroaches “broke their dam,” it would be disastrous.
“Xiao Jin, if those ahead were dealt with, would it save us some time?”
Lu Hao asked.
“Yes, the moss itself needs time to engulf, and I can only try to increase its thickness now,”
Su Jin replied with a frown.
“I’ll burn them for you,”
Lu Hao decided, as there were enough of them concentrated there, making it perfect for Fire Element Ability.
“Okay, I’ll use vines to send you over, just don’t step on the ground,”
Su Jin thought it over and agreed.
When Lu Hao was sent out of the car by a thick vine, Abby even reached out to feel the vine.
“It feels just like an ordinary tree, this is my first time seeing such a Wood Element Ability,”
Abby said in amazement.
After Lu Hao was sent out, the road in the middle of the village filled with zombie cockroaches instantly turned into a path paved with flames, and countless zombie cockroaches were ignited.
“Mr. Lu’s fire is so powerful,”
Yves admired, wondering if he would be able to release such power after reaching Level Seven.
Lu Hao was pulled back by the vine, and the entire road’s zombie cockroaches had been completely burned to ashes, and the mutated moss resumed its original speed, traveling unobstructed forward.
“That place is the farm,”
Qiao pointed to a collapsed wooden house.
“I understand now, you all might have to wait a while,”
Su Jin continued to deploy her Wood Element Ability, spreading the mutated moss into every nook and cranny, intending not to spare a single zombie cockroach.
“We can wait as long as it takes,”
Qiao replied, knowing how many of Y country’s survivors had perished here. If today marked an end, they could wait however long it took.
…
It wasn’t until late afternoon that Su Jin had covered the entire farm and even the whole village with the mutated moss.
“While it’s still light out, let’s do a check,”
Su Jin said, relieved, as this was probably the longest she had continuously used her ability. It had been a long time since she had used so much of her ability.
“How are you feeling?”
Lu Hao asked worriedly.
“Just a bit sleepy,”
Su Jin yawned hugely, her eyes brimming with shiny tears.
“I’ll stay with Xiao Jin in the car to rest, you guys go ahead and check,”
Huang Yunxiang said compassionately, having watched Su Jin sit motionless all afternoon. They were still occasionally getting up and walking around, while Su Jin had been continuously using her ability.
