Rebirth of a Village Girl - Chapter 1264: 309: Successful Proposal_3

Chapter 1264: 309: Successful Proposal_3
The office building in the city center was finally completed in the past few days, and Ni Yang had been so busy that her feet barely touched the ground.
She stayed busy until after eight in the evening before stepping out of the office building.
The moment she exited the building, Ni Yang saw Mo Qishen, arms folded across his chest, leaning against the car door. The jade-like moonlight enveloped him in a faint, ethereal glow.
“Mo-ge!”
Ni Yang jogged over to him.
“Is it always this late lately?” Mo Qishen extended a hand to open the car door for her.
Ni Yang nodded, “I’ve been busy moving the company these past few days, sorting out some staffing issues. But it’s just a temporary rush!”
“By the way, where are we heading now?”
Mo Qishen smiled faintly, “You’ll know when we get there.”
“So mysterious?” Ni Yang raised an eyebrow ever so slightly.
Mo Qishen simply smiled without replying and closed the car door.
The drive was swift. After about an hour, they arrived at a desolate open area. It was pitch dark all around, making it impossible to discern much of anything.
“Are we here?” Ni Yang turned to look at Mo Qishen.
“Yes,” Mo Qishen nodded and walked to her side to open the car door for her.
Ni Yang leaned forward and stepped out of the car.
“Yangyang, close your eyes first.” Mo Qishen spoke softly.
“Mo-ge, what are you planning? It’s so mysterious!” Ni Yang was curious.
Mo Qishen said, “Just close your eyes for now; you’ll find out in a moment.”
“Alright.” Ni Yang nodded and obediently closed her eyes.
“Give me your hand,” Mo Qishen continued, “No peeking.”
“Okay, I won’t peek.” Ni Yang stretched out her hand, which was firmly grasped by Mo Qishen as he led her forward step by step.
Ni Yang’s heart was brimming with curiosity. What exactly was Mo Qishen hiding up his sleeve?
After about two to three minutes, Mo Qishen’s voice suddenly came from above her, “Okay, Yangyang, you can open your eyes now.”
Ni Yang slowly opened her eyes–
At that very moment!
Bang!
Fireworks blossomed across the night sky, turning the surroundings as bright as daylight.
And then, Mo Qishen suddenly dropped to one knee, holding a bouquet in one hand and a ring in the other. “Yangyang, marry me! For the rest of our lives, I promise to make you happy!”
Ni Yang lowered her gaze to look at Mo Qishen, the colors of the fireworks reflecting in her eyes. “Mo-ge…”
At this moment, to say she wasn’t moved would be a lie.
“Marry him! Marry him!”
Wu Daming appeared out of nowhere.
“Yangyang, say yes already!”
“Mom, say yes to Dad!”
Wu Chenjun, Shangguan Xi, Zhao Yu, Li Ronghua, Adelle, Shangguan Xi, and even the elders of the family—almost everyone was gathered there.
Ni Yang’s eyes glistened with tears as she reached out to accept the bouquet and the ring.
Though Mo Qishen knew Ni Yang would never turn him down, he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmingly excited in this very moment.
“Yangyang, let me help you put the ring on.”
Ni Yang nodded, “Okay.”
Mo Qishen knelt down on one knee once again, reverently slipping the ring onto Ni Yang’s finger before leaving a gentle kiss on her hand.
“Clap, clap, clap–”
A pair finally united.
The crowd erupted in hearty applause.
Wu Daming nudged Li Ronghua’s elbow with his own, “Ronghua, what do you think of the ring Sixth sister-in-law is wearing?”
“It’s beautiful!” Li Ronghua nodded.
Wu Daming continued, “How about I buy you one like that? Although I can’t afford one as big! I could only get a smaller one…”
The ring Mo Qishen gave Ni Yang was as big as a pigeon’s egg and worth a fortune. Wu Daming could never afford such a thing.
Li Ronghua scrunched her nose, “Who wants a ring from you anyway?”
Wu Daming added, “But these days, getting married requires a ring.”
“Who says I want to marry you? Shameless!”
Wu Daming wrapped an arm around Li Ronghua’s shoulder, “I don’t care; I’m marrying you anyway! I’m set on you for life!”
When Wu Daming first met Li Ronghua, he only had three words to describe her.
“Tomboy!”
Back then, he thought to himself, if anyone was unlucky enough to marry Li Ronghua someday, it’d be a real disaster!
Unexpectedly, he ended up falling for her instead…
This feeling…
Was truly indescribable.
“Mo-ge, thank you! Thank you for giving me such an unforgettable night.” Ni Yang tightly embraced Mo Qishen.
“As long as you like it, that’s all that matters. This is what I should be doing.”

After the proposal, the wedding date was set.
It was scheduled for next year during the sunny days of March—just in time for Shangguan Xi’s baby’s full-month celebration.
