Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family - Chapter 1007 Not enough of a gift

Chapter 1007 Not enough of a gift
Yuna was quick to understand the consequences of Ersatz’s goal.
Their End Game would have the Ancient Era and all of its remnants erased
from the world. This included the inheritance of the Montgomerys, their ability to create Sanctums.
Without this, there would be no order, no justice. The world would once again descend into chaos and savagery.
“We have to stop them,” she said to Michael.
He nodded. “I know. That’s why I need your help. There are still a lot of things that I don’t know about the world, making my fight against the Ersatz feel like a herculean task. But with you by my side, I’ll feel a lot less burdened. You make me feel better.”
Yuna tucked her hair behind her ears. “Then I guess I’ll have to stick by you from now on. I can’t take my eyes off you.”
Michael smiled, a blush forming on his cheeks.
…
Meanwhile, back in the Thunderfoot Estate.
Bjorn Thunderfoot, the Patriarch and owner of the only company to sell GodForge pieces wholesale, returned from the Colosseum still buzzed from the historical tournament run that he just witnessed.
He had a feeling that with the emergence of the White Eye (a nickname given to Sheina by the general public), the Reborn company would soon explode in popularity here in New Sparta.
And the fact that his son made a good friend within someone from that company bodes well for their future.
Bjorn would have been in an exhilarated mood, but the looming problem of the lost Key plagued him like a debilitating disease.
Without that inheritance, their future was as good as dead here in New Sparta.
And it didn’t help that the other companies were of no use. Even though he insured a reward for its retrieval, he received no word from anyone-not even the conglomerates!
If they couldn’t find it, then it seemed that no one could. And with each passing day, the chances of retrieval were only getting lower.
This thought actively doused the excitement in the Thunderfoot patriarch’s heart.
He sat on his desk and picked up the sales book for today, trepidation in his heart as he remembered how low their GodForge supplies were getting. At this rate, they wouldn’t even last half a year.
He mindlessly parsed through the numbers, until a staggering amount of GodForge pieces attracted his attention.
His eyes widened, veins bulging in his forehead.
“Jasper!” he shouted.
A few seconds later, the Thunderfoot butler entered into his office with a dignified look.
“Can you please explain to me why we lost so many GodForge pieces today? Not just a hundred kilograms, not two, not even three, but a thousand!!!” Jasper lightly coughed. “As you told me, Patriarch, I used it as a way to get in the good graces of Jot’un’s friend.”
Bjorn did tell Jasper to be in the good graces of Keo, especially now that the Reborn company became a lot more valuable thanks to their standout archer, Sheina.
But gifting a thousand kilograms? That was way too much! Even gods wouldn’t be that lavish!
“I thought you knew better than this, Jasper. Don’t you know that I’m already losing my mind over the fact that we won’t last another year because of our Lost Key? Our GodForge pieces are becoming too low-“
“Ahem, it’s no longer lost, Patriarch.”
“Don’t interrupt me while I’m teaching you a lesson. This is why you don’t know – you said what now?”
Jasper nodded. “The Key was retrieved earlier this morning.”
Bjorn’s eyes widened as Jasper took out something from his pockets, retrieving
a familiar, unassuming metal Key.
That was their lost inheritance!
“WHAT?!”
The Thunderfoot Patriarch took the Key from Jasper’s hands, inspecting it with
a lot of scrutiny.
And with just one touch, he knew that it was genuine. It was the real thing!
“HOW?!”
Jasper bowed. “The Young Master’s friend retrieved it for us.”
“His friend? That Keo?!”
“Yes. That boy exactly.”
Immediately, Bjorn turned to Jasper with a crazed look on his face.
“ARE YOU CRAZY?! How could you only give him a thousand kilograms?! You should have given him two thousand!
You have much to learn, my good friend! We are indebted to Keo. Giving him only a thousand kilograms is an insult to the Key’s importance! Tsk, tsk, tsk!” Jasper could only shake his head. One moment it was too much, and the next, it was not enough.

Meanwhile, Michael and Yuna ascended from a tenebrous shadow on the
ground.
They found themselves standing in front of an intimidating castle, with a
six-sided rapport surrounding them.
This was an Ersatz Stronghold.
But instead of it being filled to the Artifice Maugnetics left and right, now, there
were only Shadow Orcs left to populate the area.
The siege was successful. They completely conquered this Stronghold!
“Wow… your Orcs have grown so strong!” Yuna praised.
“BU TO TO! We are honored by your praise, Lady Yuna,” said Narito.
“We simply hope to be useful to Reborn. RAH TA TA!” added Sasuki.
Meanwhile, Michael began to take stock of everything in the Stronghold. First of all, he rounded up all the Ersatz corpses in the area.
Even though these were human lives, Michael didn’t feel bad at all. When they
chose to use an Artifice, they had already shed off their humanity. They traded
their lives for strength.
Though, that didn’t mean that they didn’t deserve honor. They deserved a
proper burial after this.
Michael snapped his fingers and called out to his shadow.
“Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo.”
Immediately, eight shadows split off from beneath his feet, creating a
tenebrous hole in the ground.
A second later, eight distinct individuals ascended from the shadows.
These were his Unity Clones.
During the siege, they were relegated to the sidelines. After all, they had no
power to contend against the Ersatz.
But not anymore.
He pointed at the corpses on the ground.
“Take the Artifice, purge their corruption, and ascend”
