Chapter 1015 Important business for the three ladies
The next day, Michael excitedly leaped out of his bed and walked over to his fridge.
He took out an ice cube tray-like container from the freezer, each compartment having filled to the brim with a flavor of ice cream he made yesterday. Thanks to ChatJK5, the process of recreating his favorite flavor was very easy.
On one side, he had the basic flavors. Vanilla, chocolate (made from their own cacao beans), oreo (made from homemade chocolate cookies), and even coffee.
Then on the other side, we have the fruits section with flavors like strawberry, mango peach, and other such scrumptious selections that would surely be able to satisfy anyone’s palette.
He knew Yuna loved Vanilla Ice Cream, so he made the most out of that flavor and spent the most time perfecting.
And now, he was ready to present it to her.
After freshening himself up with a simple magic shower, he immediately teleported himself out of his room and arrived in front of Yuna’s house in New Sparta.
Hiding a cold box behind him, he took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
Knock knock!
There was no response. He knocked again, this time harder. But the only thing he heard was the creaking sound of wood from the door.
Finally, he used his Supreme Talent and peered through the door.
There was no one inside.
“Where did she go off to?” he wondered.
He picked up his phone and called on her number.
But a few seconds after he clicked on the button, he heard the sound of a familiar jingle from the inside.
She left her phone.
Now, this was definitely something weird going on. She wouldn’t leave her phone lying around like this.
Thankfully, he knew that nothing wrong had happened to her.
He had a shadow always watching over his allies and friends. This would alert them if they were ever in any danger or trouble.
And as of now, his shadows remained silent. Yuna was safe.
But then, where is she?
He teleported himself back into the Colosseum of New Sparta. Right now, he heard shouts and cheers as the spectators watched another exciting duel happening in a Sanctum.
He made his way to the viewing deck at the top, seeing familiar faces already sitting down on their tables.
But there was one table conspicuously missing its members. Jot’un and Yuna weren’t there.
Jot’un was probably dealing with the aftermath of recovering their Key, so it was understandable that he wasn’t there.
He approached the Conglomerates table.
“Neytiri, right?”
The dark-skinned woman turned towards him. “Oh, Keo. Nice of you to join us. I thought you’d be celebrating with your company for the whole day.”
He shook his head. “Where’s Yuna?”
She raised her eyebrows. “She didn’t tell you?”
His eyebrows furrowed. “Tell me what?”
Neytiri pursed her lips, unsure if she should tell him the truth or not. She could be overstepping if she told Keo something that Yuna chose not to tell.
Eventually, she relented. “She’s… visiting someone here in New Sparta.”
“Who?”
“Her grandmother.”
…
…
…
In a secluded room where no one, not even Nascent Spirit cultivators, could peer through, three women sat on their chairs facing each other.
They were Eldea, the blind Heavenly Knight.
Rivet, the Mystic Master of Metallurgy.
And Regina, Duchess of Metropolis.
These three longtime friends had once again convened with each other in matters of extreme importance.
“A little birdie told me that something happened yesterday,” said Rivet, rubbing her oil-stained cheeks. “One of their strongholds was invaded.”
“Really?!” Duchess Regina bursted out with an excited look. “How was that even possible?”
Eldea, on the other hand, coolly nodded her head. “I knew something odd was happening. I felt the tremors of the Earth.”
“I don’t know the exact details. I just know that those rats are scrambling to do something. Never have I seen them this frantic. I guess they never expected this to happen to them,” Rivet chuckled.
“This means they’ll be even more volatile in the coming days,” Duchess Regina pondered. “Should we increase our defenses?”
“Don’t worry. They can’t be as bold as they want to be. Some of my brothers and sisters will be coming in New Sparta soon.”
Regina’s eyebrows raised. “The other Heavenly Knights?”
Eldea nodded.
“What a coincidence,” Rivet laughed. “My brothers and sisters will be coming as well. They’re very much excited to see the demi-human who defied all odds.”
The Duchess Regina couldn’t help but inwardly praise Michael. Who else but him could draw both Heavenly Knights and Mystic Masters into one single location?
Those hermits don’t even gather during the special annual occasions of their organization! They were too busy and too important to be bothered like that. But it seems that the appearance of a demi-human Maugnetic was intriguing enough to draw them out.
“Once the Conglomerates get wind of this, they’ll be coming here in droves,” Duchess Regina said.
“I don’t doubt they’re already on their way,” Eldea replied.
This was very important because the conglomerates were supposed to be too ‘high’ for New Sparta.
They were too powerful, too influential, and too rich to be mingling with the companies in the Lower Queens region.
But with the combined appearance of a demi-human Maugnetic, the Beastfolks, the Heavenly Knights, and the Mystic Masters, even the conglomerates would want to get in on the action.
Once they were here, they would quickly dominate the game. They were prohibited to duel against lower tiered Maugnetics, but they could definitely compete in the commercial market.
And using their powerful business acumen, they would quickly make New Sparta into their playgrounds, thereby gaining the attention of the Beastfolks, the Heavenly Knights, the Mystic Masters, and maybe even that demi-human Maugnetic!
Where else could they get such a scrumptious collection of customers?
“It seems that we’ll be very busy soon,” Eldea said. “I shall go ahead and prepare for the commercial bloodbath that is about to come.”
The three left their seats.
But before they left, Rivet stopped them in their tracks.
“Wait. We’ve forgotten the most important reason as to why we’ve gathered here today.”
Then, she turned to Regina.
“Have you talked to this Michael kid about our personal phones?”
