Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family - Chapter 1037 Delivery of cars

Chapter 1037 Delivery of cars
Castelle’s suggestion was counter-intuitive. Although that dapper man was saying all of those things in order to take advantage of the Reborn company, that didn’t make his points wrong.
There was a good reason for them to not give the Conglomerates any more advantages. Fattening a shark could totally backfire against them.
In fact, one could argue that selling the automobiles to any company would be very disadvantageous to Reborn’s progress.
After all, there was a real chance that the automobiles could be reverse-engineered.
Michael had no doubt that there were already some companies working on it. Since automobiles were based entirely on physical and mechanical ideas, a talented inventor could recreate the engines after tinkering with one after some time.
It was inevitable. Michael was already resigned to that. He actually wanted it to happen. On a moral standpoint, it would be in the betterment of society and the world itself if automobiles became ubiquitous. And if it required other companies to start producing their own automobiles, then Michael was okay with that.
Many would think that he was generous by doing this. Or incredibly naive. After all, he’d be giving away his company’s biggest advantage. He’d be leveling the playing field.
But that was if the automobiles were their only advantage.
Their biggest advantage lay back in the Kings region. Back in the incredibly vast desert called the Parched Lands.
It was the biggest oil reserve in the world.
And in a world dominated by automobiles, he who controlled the oil, controlled the world.
Castelle knew exactly how to take advantage of this fact.
“Young Master, with your permission, I would like us to…”
Castelle laid out the entirety of her plans, garnering smiles within everyone.

The next day, the Conglomerates and the Upper Echelons continued to make their moves.
And early in the morning, the entirety of New Sparta came abuzz with discussions.
Spies, spectators, and voyeurs from all companies were alerted of a large dust cloud coming over towards New Sparta.
Spies, spectators, and voyeurs from all companies were alerted of a large dust cloud coming over towards New Sparta.
But after a little bit of investigation, they found out that the dust cloud was not caused by a natural phenomenon, but by a literal horde of automobiles instead. These vehicles rode from Metropolis all the way over towards New Sparta, braving through the rough roads of the forest with ease, showing the automobile’s ability to become aptly named as an all-terrain vehicle.
“Woah! There’s so many of those automobiles! It’s like an army!”
“I want to buy one for myself someday!”
“Ha! Goodluck. I heard the waiting list is half a year in advance!”
Eventually, the 500 automobiles showed themselves in full view. And people immediately noticed that they were quite different from the automobiles that they saw a few days ago.
First of all, it was much bigger, with a large box at its backside. The spies were informed later that this was called a four-wheel truck.
It was easy to tell who owned these trucks. Their company symbols were plastered on each of the truck’s sides.
A hundred of them bore the symbol for the top conglomerate of the world, the Vanderbilt company. Another hundred was reserved for the Oscorpe company, then another hundred for Goldstone, Hepheasteus, and Sinclair.
These were the automobiles that the Conglomerates ordered!
A few moments after the automobiles parked near the walls of New Sparta, their corresponding Conglomerate representatives arrived to take their new vehicles.
The Rebornian drivers got out of their seats, welcoming the car’s new owners.
“Here are the keys, sir!”
A Hephaestus representative took the keys, not knowing what it did.
“Uhh… how—”
The Rebornian driver smiled. “Would you like to enroll in a training lesson? That would cost you only one Sand Dollar per session.”
The Conglomerate representatives had no choice but to concede.
Of course, Michael didn’t take that money from the drivers. That was their own bonus.
Either way, with the help of the Rebornian drivers, the conglomerates were quickly given the run-down for how to operate the vehicle.
Since it was an automatic, it was easy to learn.
And as expected of the conglomerates, they were able to get the basics of driving within a single day. By sunset, they could drive through the plains all on their own.
As the day came to a close, so did Michael’s obligation to the Conglomerates.
Now, it was up to them on how to use it.
…
…
Gabriel and his father stared in wonder at the automobile right in front of their very eyes.
They stored most of their new trucks on their Pocket Dimension, while keeping only one in their warehouse to inspect.
Now that they had it up close, they were even more awed by it than before. Just hearing about it didn’t do it justice.
This vehicle was more of a creature than it was an object. “The Reborn company was able to make this from scratch?” Gabriel asked out loud. He couldn’t help but re-evaluate his perception of Keo and his company. No wonder he seemed so confident.
“It seems that the Reborn company is blessed with talented people,” his father muttered.
Then, he turned to one of his workers. “How about it? Can you recreate it from scratch?”
An old man with greasy, unkempt hair stared at the automobile, squinting as he did so.
“The mechanisms of this automobile are completely unheard of. It’s a thousand years ahead of our current understanding of the physical world,” the inventor said.
“But with an example right in front of your eyes, you can recreate it, right?”
The old man stayed silent, not rejecting or confirming his question.
“It’s not just the mechanics of the automobile. It’s the precision. Each part is meticulously formed and molded with almost no room for error.
This is doable, if we were only creating one automobile. But it’s absolutely hard to think that the Reborn company could mass produce something like this with the kind of precision that they have. Only those Hephaestus smiths could do something with the same speed and efficiency. Though, I doubt that a Lower Echelon company has the same resources as a Conglomerate…”
