Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family - Chapter 1069 Nascent

Chapter 1069 Nascent
Michael awoke to find himself back in his room. He jolted up, tapping his body for any injuries, which thankfully, there were none. He immediately walked over to the windows, seeing the skies blue and bright. Then, he looked down at his chest. Using his Supreme Talent, he peered through to his very heart. And there, he saw a big change.
Instead of a beating heart, he saw nothing but a spherical object made entirely out of GofForge pieces. It was a core. The same core that they had gotten from that Tri-star cultivator.
He had done it. He had transcended the Body Formation realm and reached the Nascent Spirit realm.
It was real. Everything had happened so fast that, for a second there, he thought that everything had just been a dream. But no. All of that happened. A giant omen appeared in the skies, allowing him a glimpse of the Iron Maiden located on the other side of the universe.
ChatJK6? What happened?
[Welcome back, Michael. It has been a week since you were last awake.]
A week? I was unconscious for that long?
That was the longest coma he’d ever experienced. But it made sense. His body would have needed a tremendous reboot in order to accommodate his ascension to the Nascent Spirit realm.
I am, right? A Nascent Spirit cultivator?
[Correct. Your Aubility Power corresponds to the 1st stage of the Nascent Spirit realm.]
Hearing her confirmation, Michael heaved a sigh of relief. At first, he thought that he would have had to undergo something a little bit more laborious. The fantasy stories from his previous life always told about tribulations that shook the heavens and prompted lightning to strike him nine times.
But it seemed like he was able to go through the next realm unimpeded, which was great.
As a test, he tried to summon Harbinger atop his head. And there was no response. No motes of light that formed that silver and yellow mecha.
Nascent Spirit cultivators instead manifested their Diva in the outside world as a kind of armor, as seen by Katarina’s diamond armor. This was much more robust, more powerful, allowing the Diva itself to manifest its full potential onto the world.
He wondered. Would he have that mecha as his armor as well?
He wondered. Would he have that mecha as his armor as well?
He closed his eyes and tried to connect with the core now replacing his heart.
But… there was nothing. He didn’t know how to do it. It was like telling someone to see out of the back of their elbows. It didn’t even seem possible.
ChatJK6, how would I summon my Nascent Armor?
[Nascent Armors are created through the sheer will and power of the user. It is the oath that the user brings onto the world to fulfill the promise of one’s talent.
According to what I’ve gathered, the way to manifest a Nascent Armor is through sheer, rote training.]
It was like building a new muscle, or creating a new neural pathway into your brain. After all, his Nascent Core was basically a new organ. He needed time to get to know it better, time for it to connect with the rest of his body.
That was why he couldn’t manifest Harbinger.
Speaking of the devil…
Harbinger?
There was no response. He tried all sorts of things to talk with his alter ego, his previous identity, but to no avail. It was as if he was gone all of a sudden.
Perhaps I’ll have to connect with my Nascent Core first if I want to communicate with Harbinger.
It would have been really useful if he had a talking ego speaking to him about everything he needed to do, but alas. He’ll have to discover all of this on his own.
What’s been happening while I was gone? A week was a long time, especially with how hectic and frantic things had been back in New Sparta. There must have been lots of things he missed while he was gone.
Like the problem with the Tri-star company, for example.
Suddenly, he felt a cool surge of information pass through his head, like a wave crashing through the shores.
The memories ebbed and flowed, coming and going.
First, he saw a third-person perspective of him laying down on his bed surrounded by his friends and family.
His parents were there. Sheina, Castelle, the two Orc Chieftains, even Jimmy.
Yuna was there too. She stayed by his side for most of the week, laying down at his bedside with that worried look on her face.
Just then, he heard the sound of a door creak open.
He saw Yuna carrying a thick stack of paper in her hands. And as soon as she saw him sitting up on her bed, she immediately rushed toward him, papers flying everywhere.
“Michael!”
“Hey. Been a long time,” he joked.
She lightly punched his shoulder. It wasn’t heavy, but it still stung a little bit.
“We were worried about you.”
Michael pursed his lips. “Sorry, I was just breaking through to the next realm. I’ll warn you next time.”
Her eyes widened. “Next— you’re in the Nascent Spirit realm?!”
He nodded.
“What… but that’s not… that’s not possible. Where was your tribulation?”
His eyebrows raised. “Tribulation?”
“Whenever someone advances to the Nascent Spirit realm, the heavens or whatever god is in charge of the world, will send down a fury of lightning to strike at the person.”
The fantasy books were correct?!
“It’s a backlash. Becoming a Nascent Spirit cultivator makes you one step closer to godhood. The heavens don’t want that. That’s why they sent lightning to kill them,” she explained.
She looked at him, her eyes narrowing as she stared at his chest.
Then, she raised both of her hands, creating a rectangle with her thumbs and index fingers.
She peered through this seemingly mystical rectangle, until her gaze finally landed on his heart. Or at least, where it was supposed to be.
Now, there was just a perfect silver sphere in its place. Silent, terrifyingly calm.
She gasped.
Nascent Spirit core! He did transcend to the next realm!
“That’s… that’s not supposed to be possible. There was no tribulation strike!”
It was commonly known amongst Maugnetic circles that the lightning tribulations were a dangerous phenomena. But it was also the reason why people could form their cores.
Heavenly lightning would strike upon a person’s heart, testing it, tearing it until it rendered into mere paste.
The GodForge pieces inside someone’s heart would then protect the heart by covering it in a protective sphere, thereby creating the core.
But Michael had no lightning tribulation. They watched over him every single day!
A tribulation lightning could be felt throughout the entire lands. Even mortals would have sensed it if it appeared!
…
Michael looked down at his heart.
If what Yuna said was true, then he could be classified as an anomaly. An anomaly caused by that omen in the skies.
If he had gone through the motions just like any other Maugnetic, he would have probably summoned tribulation lightning during his ascension.
But his ascension was different. ChatJK6 helped him reach out into the omen in the skies, and tapped into that ethereal, heavenly power residing in the White Sun.
It must have helped him transcend into the nascent realm without all of that tribulation. Because that was his tribulation.
Right, ChatJK6?
[Correct. The omen spoke of the power being only accessible through the technique bestowed upon by the Iron Maiden. But I was able to hack through it and find a way to access that power without succumbing to that technique.]
As expected of ChatJK6. Her software update not only allowed her to somehow read the omen in the skies like some prophet, but she was able to find weakness in a godly being’s power as well!
“What happened while I was gone?”
“It’s… complicated,” she muttered.
Everyone decided to not talk about matters of business while he was in a coma, so he didn’t get anything while he reminisced.
First, she talked about the elephant in the room. The omen. It seemed that the unexplained astrological phenomena in the sky was seen all over the world, confusing and confounding even the experts who studied it immensely.
It caused a lot of trouble. Maugnetics felt their connection to their GodForge pieces halt, disconnect.
As expected, there was a lot of panic.
There may have been a few riots and skirmishes that happened all over the globe.
Not only that, but it seemed to spawn a lot of cults and religious organizations to suddenly poke their head out of the water, talking about some kind of apocalypse. Of course, most people dismissed them.
But Michael knew just how close they were to the truth.
Then, there was the matter of the Tri-star company.
Castelle, Sheina, and the two Orc Chieftains were able to hold down the fort while he was gone.
Castelle and Sheina worked together to continue the growth of automobiles in New Sparta, while the Shadow Orcs made sure that there was no shady business going on under the shadows.
