Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family - Chapter 681: Stealthy Drone

Chapter 681: Stealthy Drone
His drone was the only thing that would allow him to bypass the natural Aubility of the Vampires to stay unseen deep in the night. Their stealth didn’t rely on the fabric of magic in reality. It actively rewrote it, making magic almost entirely unable to fight against it.
But his Drone wasn’t entirely made out of magic. Its structure was made out of Mithril, a material made from the combination of all mana to create Unity, a power that could even contend with Aubilities. And the circuitry that made its flight even possible was all through the addition of Soo drops, making its power conform similarly to Aubilities.
This meant that the upgrades that he purchased in the Drone worked with both magic and Aubilities!
And it just so happened that there were a lot of options he could choose in the Drone shop that fit perfectly in this type of situation.
He looked deep inside his mind, finding the upgrade window of his Mithril Artifact.
The 3D representation of his Drone appeared in his vision, allowing him to manipulate it as if its blueprint was right in front of him.

There were some options he wanted to buy, but he knew that he had to prioritize upgrades that would directly benefit him now and today.
Of course, that would be the upgrade to the Drone’s stealth capabilities.
A must-buy would definitely be the [Phase-Through] upgrade, allowing the Drone to literally pass through solid objects without much trouble. If he were to purchase this, then he wouldn’t have trouble sneaking around the Purist Vampire’s lair trying to find an entrance. He could simply pass through their walls!
The next upgrade would definitely have to be for the propellers.
Right now, the only upgrade he could purchase was the [Muffled Propellers], which was quite cheap, needing only one drop. He just hoped that if he purchased this option, he would be able to unlock a better option to buy.
Those were the two upgrades currently in his mind.
[Michael, may I have a suggestion?]
What is it?
[I think that purchasing the Reduce upgrade for the Drone will greatly enhance its stealth capabilities. With the upgrade, you will be able to shrink the Drone into the size of a small bird, reducing the needed thrust for it to fly and therefore reducing the noise that the propellers have to make.]
ChatJK5’s advice made complete sense. The smaller the drone, the smaller the noises it could make. And if he paired that up with the [Muffled Propellers] upgrade, then the drone would practically have to be right up in somebody’s ears before they heard the noise.
You’re right, ChatJK5. I’ll add that to my list.
With those three upgrades together, it would cost him a total of 5 drops, which was exactly what he had left in his inventory from the auction.
Without hesitation, Michael picked on the purchase option, with the Drone starting its transformation.
The Drone, which was perpetually hovering in the air above Michael at all times, slowly descended back towards him.
Guillermo suddenly raised his head, alarmed from the buzzing sound that he heard above him.
This would be the first time that someone was able to actually hear the Drone’s propellers even though it was still so far away from Guillermo. This only showed how innately powerful Vampires were in terms of their observation senses.
But even though he could hear the Drone, he couldn’t see it at all. Guillermo subconsciously covered himself in a fabric of shadow as he thought that they were getting attacked by someone from the Purist Vampires.
It was only when the Drone suddenly deactivated its [Invisibility] as it landed back down on Michael’s palms, did Guillermo finally see the source of all that noise.
“What… what is that?!” Guillermo asked, alarmed. Not being able to sense the arrival of a foreign object was a Vampire’s worst fear.
“This is my Mithril Weapon,” Michael replied. He noticed Guillermo’s reaction throughout all of this and was glad to learn that the Drone’s upgrades definitely still worked on Vampires.
If the Drone’s propellers weren’t so loud, then Guillermo wouldn’t have even noticed it at all. This only strengthened Michael’s decision to upgrade his Drone’s stealth capabilities.
With the Drone in his hands, nanoparticles suddenly emerged out of the frame and began working on the upgrade. It enveloped the four propellers, changing its design to create a much sleeker blade and a case that would dampen its noise.
As for the next two upgrades, the nanoparticles worked on the Drone’s internal circuitry, creating a modular option to change the molecular density of the Drone, allowing it to phase through objects as well as change its shape at will.
Knowing that the Drone would take about thirty minutes to complete its upgrade, Michael changed his focus on other matters.
He looked back at the Drone Option shop and began thinking about the next set of upgrades he could buy.
Now, even though he had depleted the five drops of Soo he got from the auction, he still had a way to obtain more simply by purchasing them.
If he were to use the rest of the Sand Dollars that he got from Reed, which was exactly 62,500 in total, then he could purchase 6 more drops to use.
And since he was about to embark on a mission to find the Purist Vampires, he decided to splurge on the upgrades to make sure that he was as prepared as possible.
He turned to Guillermo and asked him to wait. “I’ll be gone for a few minutes to buy something,” he said, before using his shadow transportation skill to teleport back into the Nation of Reborn.
Meanwhile, Guillermo stayed behind and tried to comprehend what he just witnessed.
He thought that Michael was just some young human businessman that Reed introduced to him, but it turned out that the boy had a completely hidden strength to him that could even surprise a Vampire like him.
His mind lingered on the Drone. The fact that he couldn’t even see it meant that Michael somehow had a power of stealth that was even greater than Vampires!
Now, Vampires may not be as physically strong as the Werewolves, or as fluid and fast as the Mermen, or as magically gifted as the Elves, or even as dominating as the Draconic race. But one thing that they were confident about was their stealth. No one was better at that than them.
But that flying weapon proved him wrong.
He finally understood why Michael was so adamant in accompanying him in this mission. With that weapon, they may stand a chance at stopping the Purist Vampires before they could do untold damage to the citizens of Metropolis!
