Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family - Chapter 698: Rooms

Chapter 698: Rooms
Michael went over to an empty spot in the mushroom forest and made camp. Using some simple magic, he was able to create a small cabin house made out of mushrooms, just big enough to house him and the Dragonborns as well.
He then called out to the shadow underneath his feet, “You guys can teleport now,” he said.
A couple of seconds later, multiple shadows separated off his feet, forming their own shadows.
The shadows morphed into a circle before receding back into his feet as the Dragonborns appeared, with the Shadow Orcs right behind them.
“Thanks,” he said to the Shadow Orcs. Now that their job of transporting the Dragonborns were over, they turned back into a shadow and disappeared.
“Woah! This place looks rad!” Zion said, looking around with wonder.
“Boss, is there any comfortable place to sleep in here?” Jaku asked, already wanting to lay down.
“Ummm… it’s nice… in here,” Umisu muttered shyly.
Contrary to the three Dragonborns, Sheina immediately went over to Michael and presented herself as the good secretary that she always was.
“Just say the word and we shall endeavor to complete it,” she said with a bow.
Michael greeted all of them before immediately debriefing them about the whole situation. He told them about the discovery in the Red Ravine, as well as how the doors led to numerous GodForge pieces for the taking.
“We’ll venture off into one of the rooms,” he said to them. “So be prepared.”
According to what he learned from Beau and the rest of the Rising Six, the guardians hidden inside the rooms all contained Aubility Power.
And even without seeing them first-hand, he was able to see the glow of power through his Drones. Each of the rooms were emanating an orange glow, which meant that whatever was on the other side wielded Aubility Powers.
Because of that, the only people that dared to venture inside it were Maugnetics.
The Dragonborns were Maugnetics themselves, but they still hadn’t awakened their Divas and their Aubilities, which meant that they were practically the same as a normal person without a GodForge piece in their chests; they had no chance against those guardians.
However, he invited the Dragonborns because he knew that this could be the place where they could awaken their Divas and Aubilities.
Fudge was only able to awaken when he faced the Purist Vampires, so this was conclusive proof that Maugnetics needed a ‘push’ when wanting to transcend to the next level.
The more their GodForge pieces were stimulated, the higher the chance of their breakthrough. He was counting on the guardians to be enough of a stimulation for them to finally awaken their true powers.
“Are you guys ready?” he asked them.
Despite their individual quirks, they seemed more than ready for this new challenge.
“Follow my lead.”
He walked out of their cabin and into the crowd gathering in the mushroom forest.
There, among the crowd, he saw the Rising Six as well as some other unfamiliar faces.
“Ah! Here’s our last group,” said Reptar as he saw Michael coming up to him.
The rest of the group looked towards Michael and the Dragoborns, looking at them with curiosity.
Michael walked up to Reptar and asked, “Who are these people?”
Reptar leaned in to whisper, “They’re from other territories outside of Metropolis. They’re all here in search of the GodForge pieces like us.”
The other companies and adventurers greeted Michael with a respectful nod. He nodded at them back.
Beau then walked forward. “Here’s our plan for the expedition,” she said. “We will all enter the room in front of us, and if we are able to complete it, then we can move over to the next stage.
As you all know already, the Major Factions have already gone over ahead of us. If you are strong enough, then you can complete the room you entered and catch up to the Major Factions. Is that clear?”
Everyone nodded at her words. They had been planning this for a while, so there wasn’t any confusion between them.
“The Major Factions are already ahead of us?” Michael asked Reena, whispering in her ears.
Reena’s cheeks blushed as she felt his voice so close to her. She immediately pushed him away flusteredly. “Yes! They have already completed the first stage of the rooms.
Each of the tunnels you see in here will lead towards a room. And that room will contain a guardian that protects it. If you are able to defeat it, then you can claim your prize at the end of the room.
But that’s not all. Once you complete it, an entirely new tunnel will open ahead. That will lead you to the next stage, where the Major Factions are currently in.”
Only those who completed a room will be able to get to the next stage. And if you were able to complete the next stage, you’ll be able to get the GodForge pieces hidden inside it.
“Okay, let’s decide which ones will get which rooms,” one of the adventurers said. “I’m want to take the Fire Warrior guardian.”
“We want the Lightning Casket guardian!”
“I want anything but the Mystic Eye guardian!”
Each one of them began listing off the names of each guardian, which Michael wasn’t aware of till now.
Erlos seemed to have noticed his confusion and quickly explained. “Almost all of the rooms have already been scouted, so we know which guardians are protecting it.
Each one of them has their own powers, some weak, some strong, so many of them are trying to get the easy ones so they can advance to the next stage.
But almost all of them are avoiding one specific room. That one.”
He pointed towards a tunnel leading straight into darkness. There was a certain atmosphere around this tunnel, one that would make anyone wary of it.
Michael used his Aubility Vision and saw that the orange glow coming from the tunnel was a lot stronger than the others. It was practically shining like the sun!
“Why are they avoiding that one?” he asked.
“It’s because it contains a guardian that no one can defeat. I think that the only ones who have ever completed it are the Vampires.”
This piqued his interest. “The Vampires? The royalblood Vampires?”
Erlos nodded. “Yeah. I saw them here yesterday. And while everyone was having trouble going through the rooms, they breezed through it like it was nothing.
That’s why I advise you to pick a different tunnel other than that. The treasure may be good, but it’s impossible to get.”
“Prize?” Michael asked, his eyebrows already raised.
“Yeah. The stronger the guardian, the better the treasure. Getting a GodForge piece in that tunnel is practically guaranteed.”
Michael smiled. One thing he learned about this expedition was that things didn’t have to be solved through violence. It could also be solved through stealth!
The fact that the royal blood Vampires were the only one to ever conquer it was enough evidence to suggest that stealth was a possible solution to it!
Fudge could absolutely conquer this room!
With a GodForge piece as the possible treasure, it was well worth a try.
