This giant rift in reality began to cut through the ghastly dark horses. Their bluish green fire tried to eat burn through the slash, but alas, it couldn’t fight against the sheer destructive capabilities of this quantum power.
Their bodies began to unravel into threads.
The mighty presences of these Nascent Spirit pieces deflated, becoming nothing more than a wisp in the wind.
Michael watched as the loose threads flew off into the air, dissolving into pure energy. The last vestiges of this Nascent Spirit Piece released a gust of air, then completely disappeared forever.
It was done.
He won against two Nascent Spirit Divas. The Stronghold has officially been invaded.
Taking a deep breath, Michael calmed himself. Even though it was a pretty harrowing fight, he came out of it even more refreshed than when he first came here.
Ascending to the 9th stage of the Body Formation realm injected him with a surge of energy. He felt rejuvenated, not just in body, but in mind as well.
He felt his heart. Its beating thump was tangible. He could feel its power. He knew that with one last push, he could finally transcend into the next realm.
And that excited him to no end.
Not only that, but the fact that he was able to pull off that last move gave him even more confidence from here on out.
The combination of both Quantum techniques was the most powerful move he had ever pulled off.
And as proven just a few seconds ago, it worked wonderfully even against Nascent Spirit Divas.
If he could do that more consistently, he’d have no worry facing another one of those amulets.
However, it all depended on his Aubility Power reserves.
He got lucky that he had an excess of energy from his advancement that he was able to spam as much Quantum Steps and Quantum Slashes as he wanted during that fight.
But on a normal occasion, he could only do that a few times before his heart was exhausted.
Of course, Michael was happy with that. Before, he couldn’t even reliably pull off a Quantum Step before he charged up his batteries.
Now, he could do it reliably just through his own power alone.
He just couldn’t do the Quantum Slash and the Quantum Step together.
Although powerful, it was extremely inefficient. Since it wasn’t an actual technique, he had to forcefully combine the two Quantum moves, thereby needing a lot more energy to successfully pull it off than both combined.
Still, it was an ace in the hole. A hail mary, if you will. Something that would save him in the direst of circumstances.
“It’s over,” he said with a smile.
He looked to his two Unity Clones, Alpha and Charlie. Both were kneeling towards him with reverence.
“You guys did good.”
They didn’t reply. Nonetheless, their contribution was immeasurable. Without them, he wouldn’t have been able to do this in the first place.
“Which reminds me…”
He looked down at his shadow.
“Narito, Sasuki. How’s the situation up there?”
Two blobs of amorphous figures emerged from his shadow.
Narito and Sasuki kneeled and bowed towards him. They looked serious, but he could see the elation in their faces.
“We have fulfilled our duty, Lord Michael. BU TO TO!” “RAH TA TA! The entire Stronghold army has been neutralized.”
They proudly reported the success of the invasion, barely able to contain their giddiness.
“Any casualties?”
“NONE!” they shouted.
This was very good news. It looked like his investment of 1600 Mini Drones were very valuable after all.
“Sir! We are also happy to report that the 300 High Penumbra Orcs have finally awakened their Divas, sir!”
Michael raised his eyebrows. So this was the reason why they were so excited to report to him.
“Now that is great news.”
“Ahem that is not all, Lord Michael. We have also found ourselves starting to reach our limits. We hereby request more GodForge pieces for our advancement,” said Sasuki.
One fight was all it took for the Shadow Orcs to reach their saturation levels in terms of advancement. This was crazy good progress.
Not only did they finally have 300 genuine Maugnetics in their midst, but Narito, Sasuki, and the other 10 Elite Penumbras were now ready to advance to the next stage of their cultivation!
Going by this logic, he wouldn’t be surprised if there were now new Shadow Orcs who were ready to receive their first GodForge pieces.
The crucible of tonight’s invasion to the Stronghold was probably enough of a catalyst to finally make at least a few Orcs worthy of becoming a Maugnetic.
With just this one fight, the Shadow of Reborn became a legitimate organization that could contend even against the best of them.
Just the fact that they had hundreds of Maugnetics meant that they were already better than 80% of companies out there.
Coupled that with the insane progress in cultivation that they were making… It was truly exciting to think about.
But of course, he didn’t let himself get carried away.
Invading the Stronghold wasn’t their only goal.
They still had to retrieve the stolen Key.
“Did your Shadow Orcs find it?”
The two Orc Chieftains looked at each other, a silent understanding underneath their gaze.
“What’s going on?”
“None of our Shadow Orcs found the Key when we scoured the entire Stronghold, Lord Michael.”
“But we did find it. Sir Zion reported to us a while back that he retrieved the Key from one of the treasure rooms they ransacked.”
Michael smacked his own forehead.
Jaku and his team didn’t find it. Umisu and her team didn’t find it. Of all people, it had to be that group.
“Urgh… not only did I lose the bet, I’m pretty sure those two are up to no good.”

Meanwhile, in a secluded part of the Stronghold, a group of Ersatz soldiers sat on their knees with their hands up in surrender.
In front of them were a motley crew of three distinct individuals: a red-scaled demi-human, a violet slime monster, and a man who they affectionately called ‘Bravo’.
