Reincarnated as an Energy with a System - Chapter 1790: Second to Kill

Chapter 1790: Second to Kill
’What’s going on?’ Shara questioned.
Had Jema not died? How could she still be fighting?
Her body seemed a wreck with sword marks in different regions, blood crusted on her skin, with a horrible blue and black bruise around her neck from when she was choked. Her third eye on her forehead was blood-red now, much more than the other two of her regular eyes.
And yet, the woman hadn’t died.
Many thoughts went through Shara’s mind.
Had the prince let her live? Were they working together? Did she fake her death? Why did she still have her whip? How could the prince not have known she was dead when he just lectured her about absorbing the energy from the dead Reapers?
The only thing Shara could trust for certain was that the prince had to have known this was going to happen, so he should have prepared for this.
The prince arrived close enough for him to splash her with a wave of water, which passed through her without touching. He smiled upon seeing that, stepped backward just to keep a close enough distance.
Shara ignored the prince, turning toward Jema. Jema swung her whip, attacking Shara where she stood.
The whip passed through her with no issue.
Shara had kept her powers active. It was difficult to say for how long she would be able to do that. There had to be only so many minutes that she could keep it active before she ran out of energy.
She turned it off, relying only on her current speed and agility to dodge each attack.
“We can’t fight,” Shara told Jema. “If we fight, he’ll win in the end.”
Jema didn’t listen. She continued to attack with no care in the world.
Shara was frustrated, and she wanted to fight back against this woman. She had defeated Oleander, and now she had to kill another person before getting to the person that was responsible for killing her family?
Shara was mad about it.
She pointed her spear toward Jema, ready to shoot her when she heard the now familiar pop of someone teleporting next to her. She activated her power at the same time and swung backward to catch the prince off-guard.
However, the prince wasn’t so dumb as to arrive right next to her. He was far enough away so that her spear wouldn’t reach, with enough distance to fight back against the lightning bolt.
Just as Shara let go of the bolt, a screen of water covered everything. The bolt struck the water, dissipating along with it.
’Shit!’ Shara thought.
The prince was prepared for everything.
Shara turned around and ran toward Jema. Whatever the case, she had to take care of Jema first. Only then would she have the time to deal with the prince.
As she got closer to Jema, however, Jema split into 5 different beings once again. Each Jema looked the same, wounded and hurt, near death. And yet they fought.
5 different whips came toward Shara. This time, Shara didn’t use her powers to dodge them at all. She needed to keep her powers. Instead, she moved around the ground in a chaotic pattern, dodging each whip primarily due to her lightning-enhanced body.
She arrived right at the first Jema and stabbed through it, only to realize that it was a fake.
’I’ve been through this,’ Shara thought. ’I can’t keep doing the same thing.’
She ran around the place, dodging Jema and attacking when she could.
Jema followed her around, attacking each time she had the chance. As the battle continued, the prince did not join. He simply let Shara tire herself out.
Shara wasn’t getting tired, mostly due to the lizard’s doing. She was, however, growing frustrated with Jema who would neither listen nor talk. She seemed to have a one-track mind, lost in her intention to see Shara dead.
Shara was of the same mind by now.
She dodged around the whips for a few more moments, keeping an eye out for the prince. Jema’s clones moved around very little, but they did move. As they moved around, Shara suddenly sprinted to her left.
All the clones turned at once, their whips going down toward her.
Shara saw the 5 whips come down in a single line. She looked down at Jema and she too was now in a single file with all of her clones.
Shara activated her powers, no longer having to worry about anything and raised her spear. The lizard glowed brightly and the power transferred to the tip of her spear.
Now, it did not matter if the clone she was attacking was the real one or not. After all, they were all standing in the same line of target.
The bolt of lightning struck the first Jema, and then the next, and then the next. Until it struck the fourth Jema, who turned out to be the real one. Her body was instantly fried from the lightning bolt, her entire being blown backward.
When the brightness in Shara’s vision dimmed, none of Jema’s clones were alive any longer, and even Jema was down on the ground, smoke trailing out of her torso.
The lightning bolt had struck her right in the chest.
The prince appeared next to Jema suddenly, and Shara used the lightning bolt once again. She waited just long enough for the prince to attack first.
The prince sent a giant splash of water that she had to let pass by first. When the water splashed away, she targeted the prince and launched another lightning bolt.
Something like a whip arrived from behind the prince, slamming onto the ground. An explosion of dirt and debris filled the air. However, Shara didn’t believe that was enough to stop her lightning bolt at all.
Frustrated, she attacked again and again into the cloud of dirt, right until she could not any longer.
To Shara’s panic, the lizard dropped from her shoulder and disappeared.
She had overused the summoned beast.
