Reincarnated as an Energy with a System - Chapter 1791: No Chance

Chapter 1791: No Chance
Shara looked at her shoulder where the lizard previously stood. She panicked a bit as all sensation of speed and strength slid away from her as the lightning enhancement was ripped out of her system.
She felt fatigued, but she knew what she was feeling at that moment was just what she should have always felt. But that other power had been just so incredible.
She breathed deeply and lowered her spear a little. She had won, hadn’t she?
The moment she let down her guard, the whip came at her. She instinctively brought up her spear to block, activating her powers only after she was already hit.
The spear took the force onto it, spreading it into her. Shara spun through the air, landing some distance away in a muddy location where the prince’s water had fully covered the location.
She splashed on the ground before slowly getting back up. She looked in the distance to see what had happened. How had someone still been alive after taking on so many of her lightning bolts?
The prince stood with a lull to his movements, the left side of his body red with lightning marks. Before him, Jema’s body dropped, now fully burnt by her attacks.
’He used her as a shield?’ Shara thought.
“Are you finally done?” the prince asked, voice croaking in pain. He took a deep breath as the redness in his arm disappeared, his skin turning back into normal.
’He’s healing?’ Shara thought in surprise. ’How is he healing?’
She noticed the man casually tucking away a bracelet with a gem on it and realized it was the same thing Jema had been wearing earlier. Jema had healed too, so she imagined how he was doing that.
Something slithered out of the prince at the same moment. There were four long muscular appendages that came out of his back, now fully visible. Shara had seen a glimpse earlier, but this was now in full view.
She couldn’t tell what it was really, except that it was skin-colored and looked somewhat like a tentacle. It appeared from the prince’s back, so she couldn’t tell if it had been there the whole time, or if he had created it somehow.
Either way, it was something the prince had kept hidden all this time. That only showed her just how much he believed in himself.
One of the appendages took the whip from the side. One of the other ones took the red mace. With his sword, the prince had three weapons, and even more artifacts.
He had the bracelet that healed, the necklace that allowed teleportation, and whatever else he had to begin with.
Shara frowned. While the prince gained new assets, Shara lost her best one. She would have to be on her toes the entire time.
The prince teleported, arriving next to her as he swung his red mace. Shara became intangible, phasing through the attack before swinging her spear toward the prince. Before she could land the hit though, the prince’s sword was already swinging and about to attack her.
Shara couldn’t undo her powers.
The spear did nothing while the sword passed through her as well. But then, the whip came back around, swinging at her once again.
Whip, Mace, Sword.
The three weapons became a pattern as they came at her one after another. Even as Shara tried to attack, the weapons forced her to constantly keep her powers active.
On the outside, the prince’s people began cheering for their lord. The prince was winning.
Romus let out a low harrumph. “They’re delusional. Can they not see that Shara isn’t taking any damage either?”
“There’s a difference,” Matthew said with a low growl. “Those long… things coming out of his back, those are no doubt Perpetual Awakening. They don’t use any power. He can constantly attack her with those weapons and force her to continue to use her powers.”
Romus’ face fell. “If she uses too much of it…”
“She will die,” Matthew said.
“She should have quite a bit of it, right?” Mari asked from the side. “She has had plenty of time to gather her power. She has to kill that bastard.”
Her own anger toward the prince was at an all-time high right now. She had only just recently realized that her father and brother had likely been killed in the war under the command of the prince.
He was responsible for the rest of her family dying as well.
“She used a lot of it in the fight yesterday,” Matthew said. “I don’t know how much more she has. What was the lizard before? Can she bring it out again? Maybe that will help her.”
“The lizard is gone,” Ning said from the side. “It won’t be back for another week.”
Matthew’s face fell. “Then… what do we do?” he asked.
“We hope and wait,” Ning told them.
“How long do we hope?” Mari asked. “How long do we wait?”
“10 minutes, or maybe 9 now,” Ning said. “Maybe less. If she can survive that long, there may be a chance.”
The prince kept the attacking ongoing with both his limbs and all four of his appendages swinging around at her. At any given second, at least one of his weapons would be on the verge of touching her or passing through her, which made it impossible for Shara to do anything.
When she attempted to get closer and fight him up close, the prince teleported away. When she attempted to run away and stop using her power, the prince got closer.
The prince gave her no chance to even breathe as he constantly kept her from deactivating her power.
With each passing second, his eyes widened with glee. The aura around Shara got smaller and smaller. At some point within the next few minutes, it would completely run out.
When it finally did, she would finally have no more energy to use her power.
The prince continued until that moment, a moment that arrived just 6 minutes later.
