Reincarnated as an Energy with a System - Chapter 1863: Quick Save

Chapter 1863: Quick Save
Ning arrived at the bank’s door before the charging man was even halfway there. Instead of bursting through the door and showering the people inside with shards of glass, he pulled on the door, letting the debris fall on the outside.
The door handles came easily off once the glass shattered, leaving Ning with two metal rods to use.
Even as he dashed inside, the terrorists already had their guns up and pointed toward the door, all thanks to the charging lunatic behind him.
Thankfully, they were still too slow to realize that he had already made it there. And much better than that, all their guns were pointed toward him.
Ning dashed to the side the moment he entered, going for the closest terrorist that was hiding right there. Even at that moment, he didn’t know what he was going to do at all.
So, he did the only logical thing he could do without hurting these people. He struck their gun with his rod and destroyed it.
Colors popped out of the metallic paint guns, spilling all over the floor. He left before the man could even tell what had happened and destroyed another gun.
He went around the room in a blur, and within 2 seconds of him entering, all the guns were destroyed. A burst of wind tore in through the door in his wake, pulling in some of the glass shards, albeit not too far in.
Each one of the terrorists stumbled over from the force at which Ning ran. The vacuum his body created was enough to tumble them over from where they stood.
Ning gave them one glance before rushing to the back where the vault was. He burst through the door and quickly neutralized the two terrorists inside as well.
He looked at the three hostages. “You are free,” he said. “You can leave now.”
He pulled the 2 terrorists out, dragging them to the main hall where the other terrorists barely stood up with genuinely dazed looks. They had been knocked down quite hard.
Ning gathered them to the center, and by then a team of cops had already rushed in, their guns searching for targets. Only, there were none for them to beware of.
Ning had dealt with all of them.
Other heroes came in, each one looked around in a state of shock. They stared at Ning, unable to believe that he had so easily defeated them all.
“Thank you so much!”
Ning turned to the side to see who was speaking and realized it was one of the hostages. He smiled, which they couldn’t see because of the mask. That was annoying. He would really have to change the mask to show his expressions.
“I did as much as I could do,” Ning said. “I’m just glad you guys are safe.”
Ning walked around the room, talking to the few hostages who wanted to thank him. Eventually, they were all taken out of the bank and taken elsewhere.
“I didn’t think you could do it,” the tabaxi woman said with a look of surprise. “That was an awesome display.”
“Thanks!” Ning said. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
After a few more minutes passed, it was time for Ning to leave. He had more people to help and—
A loud screech spread through the entire city just that moment, causing everyone to reflexively flinch and cover their ears. The screech went away a moment later, turning into a siren that began blaring out loud.
Ning and the rest ran outside immediately, not sure what was happening.
“Tsunami Warning! Tsunami Warning!”
The siren blared as the woman’s voice spoke. “A massive earthquake in the sea to the east has been detected. A tsunami is on its way to the eastern blocks. Please evacuate as quickly as possible. The tidal wave will reach the blocks in 20 minutes.”
“Oh shit!”
Ning jumped into the air, turning into a bat and flew toward where he knew the eastern blocks to be. As Ning arrived to the east, he realized that it was a residential zone with tall apartment buildings that would be filled with hundreds of people at the very least.
He immediately ran into one of those buildings, looking around for people to help.
As he arrived inside, he was surprised to see that there was a lack of people. Instead, the stairs were filled with marionettes pulled down the stairs with string. Of course, they couldn’t afford to get thousands and thousands of people here just for the sake of selecting a few heroes.
Ning ignored the marionettes and focused on the few people that were still coming down.
“The power is cut off!” someone shouted. “People are stuck in the elevator!”
Ning wasted no time. He went over to the elevator door and opened it. He peeped in through the empty elevator shaft and saw that the thing was stuck in the upper 10th story.
He immediately flew up as much as he could and opened the door right below it. Then, he ran up one story to arrive where the elevator was. He opened the elevator door and saw a bunch of people inside, with surprised looks.
“Come on out!” Ning said.
It took a moment for the surprised folks to realize that Ning had come to save them. They probably weren’t expecting someone to save them this early.
They walked out slowly, joining the group of people in the stairway.
“Pace yourself. And don’t run!” he shouted, before looking up. How many more floors were there?
Without thought, he rushed to the top floor and began looking at each apartment to make sure no one was left behind or couldn’t walk.
Most of the places had been evacuated already, but there were a few people who had injuries or disabilities causing them to slow down.
With the power to the elevator gone, Ning could only help them fly down directly, which he did. He went back up and continued his search from top to bottom once again.
That was the only thing he could do.
