Reincarnated Hero System - Chapter 1155 - 1155: The ‘Request’

‘Stage 6…’
“Now then, Princess Bianca. It’s truly a pleasure to see that you’re also the Third of the Seven Heroes. That helps me accomplish two goals at once.”
‘Stage 6…’
“But as I said earlier, your Hero status is the lesser priority right now. The main reason I’m here concerns something else entirely.”
‘Stage 6… Level 900…’
“I have a request for you, Princess Bianca, and I’d like to reach an agreement regarding it.”
“How?” Bianca finally muttered, her voice betraying her confusion.
Evan blinked, then, realising what she meant, sighed softly. “If you’re referring to me having Mystic Eyes Stage 6, that would require me to tell you the story of where I’ve been for the past nine months, which involves journeys across several planets.
Honestly, I don’t have the time or energy to go over that again. I’ve got limited time to handle several matters, so can we focus on why I’m here? It concerns the Master of Dragondune.”
At those words, Bianca’s expression changed, her eyes narrowing slightly.
“I’m sure Rathal already told you to pass a message to the Master of Dragondune,” Evan continued. “Yes, that message came from me. The reason is, as he probably mentioned, the Master of Dragondune is an assassination target of the Demonic Hand.”
He paused, looking up at her before asking, “You have Felicia’s memories, don’t you? Then you already know about the Demonic Hand’s existence.”
Bianca nodded silently.
“Good,” Evan said. “And you’re also aware they were behind the Undead Incident in Cheverton, Lacertilia’s Dungeon Outbreak, and the main schemers in the GEE–Wolfen War last year.”
Though her surprise remained hidden behind her expression, that last detail was news to Cayenne. This was natural, as that fact had been deliberately concealed from anyone not directly involved in the war.
Evan paid this no mind and continued, “The Demonic Hand’s next operation is called the Fall of the Desert Country.”
“You’re saying they’re targeting Tarse next?” Bianca asked.
“Yes,” Evan replied after taking a sip of his sweetened tea. “They’re targeting Tarse next. And I’m sure you already know that. There’s no way Ciarrucrorth hasn’t noticed the Demonic Hand’s suspicious movements these past few months.”
At the mention of the Sovereign Level Dragon overseeing her guard detail, Bianca’s expression turned pensive.
“So what?” she said. “You want to use me to reach the Master of Dragondune to warn them? I’ve already delivered your message. They know about the threat. Dragondune is on alert.”
Evan shook his head. “No, no, no. I don’t intend to warn them anymore. I want them to actively participate in defending Tarse. More importantly, I want them to take advantage of an opportunity that’ll arise to become a Transcendent.”
“Become a Transcendent, you say? Explain.”
At Bianca’s demand, Evan cleared part of the table and generated a hologram of the planet.
“First of all, let me enlighten you on what they’re planning for your country,” he said, pointing at the Dark Continent.
“There’s a Dimensional Rift there, sealed by our predecessors. That rift will eventually reopen in a few decades, but the Demonic Hand is accelerating the process through a series of Disasters that feed the World Formation inscribed in the planet’s crust.
There might be a few minor differences in the details of the Disasters between what I know and what they’re actually doing since some time has passed since I gained my information, but the overall structure hasn’t changed, as altering it would cost the Demonic Hand too much.”
He glanced at Empress Cayenne, making sure she was following. “Now, there’s something about that rift’s location most people don’t know, but we Heroes do. It sits directly over the point where 70% of the Dark Continent’s energy veins intersect.”
Both Lloris, Eliza, and even Cayenne looked visibly surprised by that detail.
Evan rotated the hologram, moving the projection to Tarse. “Now look here,” he said. “Tarse lies at the point where roughly 50% of the Alpha Continent’s energy veins intersect.”
“They want to open another rift here,” Lloris muttered as he saw the glowing lines on the hologram.
“Exactly,” Evan said. “There are several Ancient-Breed Dragons guarding the one on the Dark Continent, so brute force won’t work there. That’s why they’re relying on the World Formation instead. But if they can open another rift here…”
He paused briefly, then shrugged. “If you’ve got two doors, the speed at which things enter the room obviously increases.”
After that analogy, he dismissed the hologram and leaned back slightly.
“My Tarse Defence Plan includes a moment where Dragondune’s Master can ascend to Transcendence.
That’s why I want to meet them—to discuss that opportunity and the role they’ll have to play in defending this planet from Prime World Gozon’s invasion, which they would be required to do upon surpassing Level 900.
‘The Five’ will become ‘The Six’?…”
Evan trailed off, then shrugged and muttered, “I don’t know. The Transcendents should think of a new name since there’s going to be more of them soon enough.”
Bianca looked understandably confused by that last part, but Evan didn’t elaborate as he tried to drop a bit of honey on his cupcake, an action Eliza prevented by snatching the honey bottle from his hand.
Not minding in the slightest, he returned his focus to Bianca. “And there you have it,” he said. “That’s why I need to speak with the Master of Dragondune in person. There’s much to discuss.”
Pointing at her with his teaspoon, he explained her role. “You can start by providing me with the channels through which I can contact them, beginning with an introduction to your mother, who’s part of Dragondune’s higher order.”
He then set his teaspoon down on the saucer, sliding his hand over to the table and resting his palm flat, his expression gradually losing all trace of emotion as he spoke.
“So please, just make this easy for both of us, so we can carry on with our lives and protect this planet.
No games, no misleading, nothing. Just let me meet the person I want to meet so we can get this over with.
The Demonic Hand isn’t going to sit back and wait for us to prepare. Their leader already knows I’m back, and he’s definitely acting under the assumption that I want to fuck with his plans, which means they’re accelerating their operations as we speak.”
He drummed his fingers lightly on the table before continuing, “So, I’d really appreciate your cooperation here, so my Tarse Defence Plan can proceed smoothly.
Otherwise, I’ll have to resort to my backups, each of which risks alerting the Demonic Hand too early and too much. And if that happens, there’s a high chance the First Finger could deploy the Second and have them remove Dragondune from the map.”
Evan spoke casually about one individual wiping out the largest host of dragons on the continent as if it were nothing.
Bianca naturally wanted to refute him, refusing to believe one individual from the Demonic Hand possessed that much power, but Evan cut her off. “This is someone who fought ‘Dragon Lord’ Altrishia to a standstill.”
As he spoke, Eliza couldn’t help but notice that the familiar fear that always laced Evan’s voice whenever he mentioned the Second Finger was completely absent.
Evan, meanwhile, looked at Bianca calmly, drumming his fingers on the table and releasing a small pulse of magic with each tap as he asked, “So, what do you say, Princess? Are we doing this the easy way?”
He didn’t finish the question with the usual follow-up, but Bianca felt she could hear him ask, ‘Or the hard way?’
Evan’s question was pretty much a veiled threat, effectively making everyone in the Sandfire Palace a hostage.
Laurene silently shook her head, understanding that the current Evan was definitely stronger than any of the Tarse Sovereigns within the Sandfire Palace, and she also understood what he was aiming for, genuinely hoping Bianca agreed, so things didn’t go downhill.
Bianca weighed her options in silence after Evan finished speaking, and after a few moments, she made a decision clearly influenced by the power she now knew Evan wielded and the threat he posed to her and those she cared about.
“Fine. I’ll take you to Dragondune,” she said with a sigh.
At this, Evan smiled and clapped. “Wonderful!” He stood, finished his tea, and set the cup down before continuing. “Let’s be on our way, then.”
“Huh?” Bianca blinked in confusion.
“What are you waiting for? Let’s go already,” Evan said, acting as if her surprise was entirely expected.
“I want to kill multiple birds with one stone, and there happens to be a lesser-known Demonic Hand base housing a unit of the Fifth Division on the way to Dragondune, which frankly doesn’t need to exist anymore, so I want to remove it while we head there.
My companions are already en route, so we’ll meet them along the way.”
Bianca opened her mouth to reply, but Lloris spoke first. “Bianca, are you sure?” he asked, naturally questioning her decision.
Sighing, Bianca pressed her fingers to her temple and said, “Don’t worry about his father. It’s not like we have a choice.”
Hearing her say they had no choice, Evan chuckled. “You make it sound like I’m some kind of bad guy. I’m simply taking advantage of the cards I have in my hand.”
Bianca shot him a glare, but Evan calmly waved her off and returned his focus to the plan.
“Shall we leave? And, uh, don’t let your dragon guard detail know we’re headed to Dragondune. Don’t even let them know the two of us are aware of each other’s existence. If you do, the First Finger will know by the end of today.”
“What do you mean by that?” Bianca asked, though her darkening expression showed she already understood what he was implying.
Evan answered with a casual shrug.
“Well, obviously, there are spies in your guard detail. Not just there, but in Dragondune too, though I’ll explain that on the way.
So let’s move.
My companions are getting closer to the target, and they won’t find it without me, so I need to be there soon. You’ll have to come with me since we’re heading to Dragondune right after. That way, I can kill three birds with one stone.”
When Evan said this, Eliza slightly raised an eyebrow, curious about the third bird since he’d only mentioned destroying the Demonic Hand base and meeting the Master of Dragondune, but she didn’t ask aloud as he continued.
“It’s not like you’re going to need the guard detail anyway. If there’s still a threat that can harm you with me around, the entire continent is fucked.”
He turned to Lloris after saying that.
“Thank you very much for your cooperation, Emperor Lloris. I’ll be borrowing your daughter temporarily, and I’ll return her before the end of the day.”
