Reincarnated Hero System - Chapter 1173 - 1173: Massacre [Monthly Bonus 2]

|¬I shall offer you this chance only once.
Get out of this Continent with all your forces. Foreign Demons, get off this planet.
Do that, and there shall be no deaths here today. Refuse my offer, and your lives are forfeit.¬|
“!”
Evan’s magic power output continued to rise with each passing second, the sheer pressure of the energy causing the ground beneath his feet to crack and slowly turn red-hot.
The ambient temperature climbed higher, sweat forming on the brows of all those present, with everyone below Level 700 instantly frozen in terror.
Their instincts screamed at them to run, but not a single part of their bodies obeyed the thought of movement.
Seith’s face contorted as he felt the pressure Evan was radiating, his hand shooting for his sword and drawing it without hesitation.
Black flames enveloped the blade as it slid free from its sheath, and seeing this, Evan inclined his head.
|¬So you’ve chosen death, huh?¬|
The moment he spoke, ten of the foreign High-Rank Demons simultaneously charged at him, attacking him at the same instant and turning the centre of the estate into a blazing inferno.
The ground beneath them liquefied where the attacks landed, while the surrounding land fractured and splintered under the force.
Tornadoes of searing wind and flames spiralled into the sky, and the shockwaves hurled hundreds of demonic humans dozens of metres through the air, their screams swallowed by the roaring chaos.
“Elemental Gale.”
Those two words rang out through the chaos, and a cyclone of flaming winds roared upward, drawing in all the energies from the attacks and whipping them skyward, exposing the devastated landscape below.
Once again, only the central fountain area remained untouched, shielded by Evan’s Elemental Shield.
Every tree, shard of marble, and building in the vicinity had been shredded or vaporised, leaving a wasteland that looked like the aftermath of a massive battlefield.
Outside, the people of Ekamery panicked, feeling as though they’d just been hit by a massive earthquake.
Even under the concentrated attacks of ten Legendries, Evan’s Elemental Shield only bore a single crack. He glanced at it for a moment, then turned his gaze to the demoness who had noticed his magic fluctuations, tilting his head as he spoke.
“It was you, wasn’t it?”
Before she could even say a word, a chinking sound rang out, and her body was instantly encased in multiple layers of crimson-gold ice.
Evan clenched his fist, and his Frost Thunder Guardian appeared behind him, reaching out to crush the ice and instantly killing the demoness.
The Frost Thunder Guardian then raised its empty hands, and its broadsword appeared, golden lightning crackling along the crimson-gold icy blade as it swung down, cutting through all the attacks of the Level 700s in a single motion and sweeping across the land, removing everything and everyone from sight.
Hundreds were sent flying in an instant, explosions ripping through the ground while bursts of icy shockwaves swept outward, freezing anything in their path. Golden lightning sparked erratically from the crimson-gold blade, striking those who took to the skies and hurling them back down to the devastated land below.
Evan, the one responsible, turned to face his companions, noting the magic radiating from Laurene and Bianca, confirming they had acted in time, and then shifted his gaze to Eliza, who watched him silently.
“Just a little longer, my dear. I need to thin their numbers.”
Several demonic-fused senior members charged out of the icy clouds behind him, their demonic and law energies condensed to the limit as they launched simultaneous attacks.
Without even glancing at them, Evan extended his left hand and activated a skill.
‘Time Bomb.’
Temporal law energy forcibly gathered under the skill’s command, consuming several times more of Evan’s magic power than the skill’s default drain, before detonating in a massive burst that hurled them all away, limbs and blood scattering through the air from the force.
Evan then turned toward the remaining enemies, stepping forward and disappearing with a burst of spatial power, reappearing in front of Seith with another burst and seizing him by the neck.
“Gugk!”
Seith tried to swing his sword, but Evan caught the blade with his other hand, then, noticing the fallen weapons scattered on the ground, spoke.
“Machine god.”
All the fallen weapons, along with those still clutched by nearby Senior Members who had been further from the initial impact and taken minimal damage, rose forcibly into the air, flying toward Seith and merging to create a massive coffin, some of the blades piercing through his body from multiple angles, forming a makeshift iron maiden with only his head protruding.
“You know, I never actually planned to let you guys go either way. I just wanted to see what choice you’d make.
Now, sit back and watch your division burn.”
Evan slammed the iron maiden into the ground, binding it with Everlasting chains to prevent any movement, then turned and activated multiple skills.
**KAABOOOM!!!!
“!!!”
Seith didn’t even have time to blink.
What followed didn’t take more than five seconds.
All he saw through his bloodstained vision were thousands of prismatic flame spikes erupting from the ground, impaling the bodies of his subordinates and their contracted demons from every direction.
The luckier ones had their heads or hearts pierced, dying instantly, while most had their stomachs, legs, armpits, joints, and even groins impaled by the flaming skewers, screams of agony echoing across the land.
Over 50 serpentine dragons rose from the centre of the scene of torment in groups of three, each unleashing breaths of prismatic flames, crimson gold ice, or lightning that tore apart the land and shredded both demonic humans and demons alike.
An oppressive pressure bore down on the area, freezing even the strongest in place, their bodies immobilised by fear and leaving them as nothing more than lambs to be slaughtered.
Blood flowed through cracks in the earth, limbs were flung through the air and fell lifelessly, while the one responsible for all this carnage casually dusted his palms and walked back to Seith’s position.
“That wasn’t as difficult as I expected,” he muttered, dragging Seith’s contracted demon along, her body bound in chains, including one over her mouth that kept her from speaking.
Seith was paralysed with shock, his brain unable to process the images flooding his eyes or the sounds pounding his ears.
‘…hu—eh? Wha…?’
He couldn’t even string a coherent thought together as Evan dragged him out of the iron maiden, teleporting him to where Eliza waited and dropping him onto the ground.
“Liz, partially heal him, please.”
He then turned to Yetu.
“He’ll be with you shortly. And as for the rest of you…”
Evan’s gaze shifted to his fellow Heroes.
“The stronger ones aren’t dead. I held back enough for that. Find them and kill them all.”
Silence fell for a moment as David, Laurene, and Bianca watched the devastation with unreadable expressions, but their attention snapped to a scream as Eliza, in her Ethereal Equilibrium Battle Mode, thrust the Memoria forward, its spear tip piercing the head of a demonic human suspended from an Elemental Skewer.
After granting the poor soul the mercy of death, Eliza flicked the blood from the staff-spear and turned to them with a raised brow.
“What are you all waiting for? We don’t have all day.”
Evan’s serious expression broke, and he burst out laughing at her reaction.
“That’s my girl,” he said with a smile, then turned to the others while Eliza activated Child of Life on the bleeding Seith. “Hurry up, or Liz will take all the prey.”
Those words seemed to finally get them moving, and Evan turned back to Seith, watching as Eliza’s green energy enveloped him.
As he requested, Eliza healed him enough that he could move and even fight if he wanted, but not enough to last long without his injuries reopening.
She then switched to Support Mode, layering debuffs upon debuffs on him before returning her focus to scanning the devastation for half-dead Demonic Hand members to finish off.
Evan, left behind, crouched and grabbed Seith by the hair, pulling him up as he spoke.
“Seith Beddoe. You were a hassle in the game, and you would’ve been one in reality, too. But thanks to Beatrix, I gained enough power to single-handedly delete your entire division from existence.”
He paused momentarily, realisation dawning that Seith definitely didn’t know who Beatrix was.
“Ah, Beatrix is the goddess Ferrid is probably working with. Not that you’d need that info, since you won’t be seeing the light of day ever again.
I won’t kill you, though. I can’t let Ferrid find out how strong I am just yet, and I wouldn’t let you take your own life either. I know you wouldn’t hesitate to do that.”
Evan summoned the Akashic Page, flipping through its pages for a slave branding spell, and cast it on Seith, marking the man’s forehead as he screamed in pain.
But as if Seith’s screams from Evan’s finger tearing into his skull were just background noise, Evan kept talking.
“Right now, the only ones who could give me a tough time are the Elder Keasatra and Vaeri.
Ferrid’s only troublesome when he stops limiting his power to avoid the Oath the Transcendents made a thousand years ago, but he still has a few more years before it expires.”
Evan stood, closed the Akashic Page, and kicked Seith toward Yetu as he spoke. “You can have as many rematches with him as you want. Just don’t kill him. I’ve commanded him to fight seriously when you attack, so don’t let your guard down either.”
After that, Evan walked back to the fountain, the only thing still intact in the estate, sat on its basin, pulled out his phone, and started playing Bag Pack Joyride while waiting for his companions to finish.
The date was September 17th, Year 1055 of the 51st General Calendar, Time: 8:38 pm.
Before the date changed to the 18th, every member of the Seven Heroes native to the Alpha Continent had reached Level 700.
