Reincarnated Hero System - Chapter 1186 - 1186: ‘Calamity’

Silence followed for a moment, and then came the screams of fear and despair erupted from almost everyone who had sensed the destructive energy, with some people outright passing out.
The Forgotten World Conqueror ignored the noise, its eyes darting around silently, completely disregarding Xolgren’s commands to kill Kolvar and Rizass.
Evan, who had expended 90% of his magic power to block the attack it had just launched, panted heavily as he dropped to one knee and closed the Akashic Page.
‘It’s looking for me…!’
He immediately realised the FWC hadn’t attacked again because it was searching for the source of the shield that had blocked its first strike.
‘I don’t have much time before it sends out another attack to locate me, and I don’t have the energy to block another one.’
Pressing his fingers to his ear, he shouted to Laurene.
“Laurene! Look at the ground below you. There should be an incomplete magic circle embedded in the sand! Use your Mystic Eyes on it and complete it! Quickly!”
His shout snapped Laurene out of her fear, the girl’s hands trembling as she dropped to her knees, gasping for breath.
‘magic circle…? Embedded in the sand…?’
Her thoughts couldn’t connect the two at first, but then she remembered Evan specifically telling her to stay within a certain area and not leave, even when Kolvar and Kriemler began fighting.
Gold light filled her irises as her Mystic Eyes activated, and true to Evan’s words, a magic circle was indeed embedded in the earth.
Understanding it took only a second, and completing it required just one more, as all she had to do was coat her hand with magic power and draw a single line to connect the rings of the magic circle to its core.
The moment she did, it lit up with a glow, and Evan, both hands pressed on the ground, grinned as he infused the rest of his magic power into the land.
Immediately, the eyes of the FWC snapped toward his general direction, scanning the piles of corpses of fallen combatants where he was hiding.
‘EOTD…don’t let me down.’
Evan dug his fingers into the earth, looking up to the sky as he shouted.
“The blood and corpses of the fallen demons here are the sacrifice for this contract.
This catastrophe, I offer to you…so grant me a calamity!”
The magic circle beneath him ignited with his magic power, and the FWC immediately locked onto his position, turning its massive body and taking a step forward as magic power flowed through the ground.
Laurene, Bianca, and David all saw magic circles ignite at their feet, the ambient magic power spreading across the ground outside the Wild Lands at relativistic speed, increasing as it connected and activated the other magic circles scattered across the country.
The massive country-wide magic circle Evan had created by linking several dozen magic circles lit up, pillars of light shooting into the sky and forming a giant crest visible even from space.
The FWC halted in its tracks, all its heads tilting upward toward the sky, which cracked like glass.
Artemisia, who had been watching everything warily, clenched her fists, eyes widening as she cursed.
“A Void Angel… Evan, you fucking lunatic!!!”
Every single Race Ruler across the Orithyia Galaxy felt the universe’s cry, and across the skies of Aidos, the loud laughter of the Eternal of Time and Destruction echoed.
|Bahaha!! A calamity you seek? A calamity you shall receive!!|
The light of the magic circle consumed the blood and bodies of every corpse with a demonic factor within Tarse, and from the fractured sky, a rift in reality tore open.
Dark grey fog spilt out of the tear and into the planet’s atmosphere, and emerging with it was a towering, lean, almost skeletal humanoid figure, with sharp, insectile joints.
Its black frame had grey lines tracing the seams of the armour plating across its thin torso and segmented limbs, and its broad and spoke shoulders connected the torso to two immense, razor-edged scythe-blades that served as its arms.
The mere sight of it radiated a feeling that was simply wrong in every possible way, as though its presence violated something fundamental about existence itself.
The air around it felt misaligned, the light bent around its body in ways that made no sense, and every instinct in every living thing screamed that this creature should not exist anywhere in the universe, even to those who didn’t even fully understand the concept of the universe.
Even without releasing any outward pressure, it felt as if the world rejected its presence yet could not push it away, giving rise to a sensation that made the skin crawl and the mind buckle.
The FWC’s five heads all roared as it leapt into the air toward the newcomer, who, without making a sound, swung its scythe-arms at it.
Slashes of grey energy split space-time at the seams as they cut through the five torrents of destructive energy fired by the FWC, slicing its heads and sending black blood spraying.
The black liquid hit the ground with enough force to crater it, seeping into the earth and contaminating Aidos’ surface.
Evan frowned at the sight, fists clenching as he commanded.
“Get that thing out of my planet.”
The entity of the void in the sky froze for a moment, then its scythe-like limbs split and morphed into multiple clawed hooks, each one elongating as they snapped toward the falling body of the Forgotten World Conqueror.
The hooks sank deep into its flesh, piercing across its torso and limbs, eliciting pained roars from the massive creature. The appendages coiled tightly around it, puncturing its necks to suppress any breath attacks, while dragging the immense body upward, toward the gaping rift in the sky.
Slowly, the Void Angel began retreating into the rift, hauling the FWC along as the tear sealed behind them, leaving the sky fractured even after it completely vanished.
…
Everywhere was silent.
Not even the wind stirred.
The two Transcendents who had rushed over from other parts of the planet to witness the Void Angel dragging the Forgotten World Conqueror into the rift were frozen in place, unable to comprehend what had just occurred, and neither could those who had been present since the battle in the Wild Lands began.
It all felt as though the events of the past few minutes had been a lie, a fleeting illusion, but the fractured sky above and the lingering traces of grey fog that evoked instinctive revulsion left no doubt that it had all been real.
Xolgren had summoned his trump card, a Forgotten World Conqueror from the Abyss Labyrinth.
That alone had struck terror into everyone’s hearts, but it had barely lasted as Evan had called forth something even more dangerous.
And what was that voice that spoke of receiving calamities? Where the hell had Evan even found that thing?!
So many questions, and the only one with the answers quickly placed a hand on his communicator and spoke.
“Kolvar! Rizass! What the fuck are you both waiting for? Kill those demonic bastards already!”
His words snapped them back to their senses and reminded them that while the Forgotten World Conqueror might have been dealt with, Dergren and Kriemler were still very much alive.
Kriemler was even attempting to heal himself using an artifact.
Kolvar, having purged the metal and energy lodged in his wounds and applied basic first aid to himself, forced his body up and kicked off the ground, dashing toward Kriemler.
The Greater Demon erupted with demonic energy, roaring maniacally as he thrust his remaining arm forward, summoning a storm of metallic drills spinning through the air toward Kolvar.
Kolvar kept charging without attempting to defend, condensing all his energy into his right fist, trusting that the black dragon in the sky would prevent any of those projectiles from reaching him.
That trust was well-placed as Altrishia immediately attacked, launching multiple dark energy spears that collided with Kriemler’s drills, shattering them and clearing a path for Kolvar.
Using his movement skill and Altrishia’s teleportation assistance, Kolvar closed the distance and appeared directly in front of Kriemler, fist drawn back.
“Starburst!!”
The Beast King roared, channelling all his remaining aura and the accumulated magic power gathered by his Unique Skill to enhance his power while fulfilling its combat condition into a single, devastating strike.
His fist shot forward like lightning, punching clean through Kriemler’s chest, destroying the demon’s heart and bursting out of his back.
At the same moment, Rizass unleashed all her celestial energy in a shattered glass breath at the weakened Dergren, whose body was still immobilised from the backlash of the forceful removal of Xolgren’s summon.
The black, crystalline light pierced straight through the giant lion’s body, tearing into their face and ripping through their torso before bursting out from their back.
Shockwaves erupted outward, and the colossal body collapsed as the dimensional rift Kriemler’s body had been stuck in snapped shut, severing his lower body from his upper, which fell onto the crumbled ground of the crater below.
Kolvar’s body went completely limp, and he fell toward the ground, nearly crashing beside Kriemler’s corpse, but Altrishia appeared behind him in a flash of light, polymorphed into her humanoid form, and caught him before he could hit the ground.
Seeing this, Evan, a wide grin spreading across his face, rose to his feet and pressed his hand to his communicator as he spoke.
“Look alive, people. We won.”
