Reincarnated Hero System - Chapter 1202 - 1202: Pulsar's Fury

💔
Kirone chased after the soul fragment, following close behind as it sped through the vacuum of space, beelining straight toward Mei’s location. She genuinely wished it could move faster and even considered using her Authority over Time to accelerate it, but she decided against that for several reasons.
While doing so would’ve let her arrive sooner, it would also cost a substantial amount of power, even more than she was already expending to move through space at such speed.
Whoever had attacked Aidos and possibly abducted her family clearly possessed immense power and commanded a vast number of replica automations, so Kirone knew she’d be facing a fight the moment she arrived wherever they were, and right now, she was far from her full strength.
She’d already burned through a great deal of energy racing through space to reach the Orithyia Galaxy in the first place, moving without rest for several days straight. Because of that, as she pursued the soul fragment, she couldn’t afford to spend any more power than necessary.
Instead, she focused on recovering as much of her magic power and divinity as possible, especially since both directly affected how much ambient cosmic energy she could manipulate.
Kirone also wasn’t foolish enough to act alone. This was an enemy that possessed an army powerful enough to attack Aidos, after all.
Even though the planet had declined from its peak after the Great Valmone War, it was still heavily fortified, and yet they’d managed to breach all the way down to its surface.
Because of that, she called for backup, specifically her subordinates, the god Kings and Queens who served her and were stationed throughout the galaxy, many of whom were already moving toward her location after sensing the massive energy fluctuations released when she destroyed the veil around the Omicron star system.
Not all of her subordinates headed to her location.
Those already within the Omicron star system had informed the others of the attack on Aidos and of the fact that Kirone had vanished moments after arriving, and they quickly concluded that she was following a trail.
As a result, they split into groups, with one remaining behind to handle the aftermath in the Omicron star system, another heading out to support Kirone, and a third reinforcing their other strongholds across the galaxy.
After all, if even Kirone’s home planet could be attacked, there was nothing stopping their enemies from targeting other interstellar infrastructure and major worlds under their control, both within the galaxy and beyond.
As she continued chasing after Mei’s soul fragment, some of her subordinates eventually caught up to her, which made sense given that not all of them had started from the same locations or directions.
A few happened to be closer to her path than the others, and upon sensing her presence, they moved as fast as possible to join her.
Others took longer to reach Kirone, but those who arrived later didn’t come alone, as they brought the cavalry with them.
They already knew their opponent commanded millions of automations, enough to overwhelm the defences of the Omicron star system, and so they responded in kind, bringing millions of their own.
Before long, a fleet of gods was tearing through the galaxy at a speed so extreme it alarmed the powers that be across every race, devils, humans, demons, dwarves, and beastmen alike.
All of them wanted answers, wanting to know who had done what, where it had happened, and why.
The pursuit lasted close to an hour, which was a long time considering that Kirone had arrived not long after the battle had already ended.
Even so, despite the speed at which they were moving, it still took them nearly an hour to reach Mei’s location, which made it clear just how fast their target was travelling.
When the soul fragment they were following suddenly accelerated, all of them knew they were closing in on their target, and weapons were already being drawn as they crossed the boundary into a neutron star system.
It was a system completely hostile to life, filled with several dozen planets caught within the neutron star’s immense gravitational pull. Its pulsar burned like a blinding spear that swept through the system again and again, flooding space with violent light and overwhelming radiation.
The energy released from the neutron star wasn’t subtle in the slightest, instead, it roared through space with constant pressure, so dense that the perception fields of anyone below the High-Tier Deity Level became distorted.
But despite all that noise, Kirone and her Race King/Queen subordinates instantly saw through it and detected a foreign signature mixed in with the star’s pulses.
It wasn’t stationary, instead, it glided through the system while perfectly attuned to the neutron star’s emissions, using its overwhelming presence as cover.
What most senses would dismiss as natural space turbulence revealed itself to them as a fleet of vessels concealing themselves under the star’s excessive emissions.
|Chrono Space Dominion!|
Kirone instantly activated her Authority, asserting control over the entire star system’s space. She clenched her fist and pulled her hand upward, and with overwhelming force, every spacecraft that had been hiding while moving through the system was dragged out.
Using her Authority to command the laws of the universe, she opposed and overpowered the neutron star’s gravitational pull, hauling the entire fleet out from the system.
The moment she did, one of her subordinates who had been on Aidos shouted,
|It’s that one! That battlecruiser at the edge of the fleet! That’s the one that led the attack on Aidos!!|
Kirone didn’t need to look to know which craft they were pointing at. She could already sense the presences she had been tracking inside that vessel, so she was certain that her parents were in there.
Mei was there as well, along with other missing members of her family, or at least some of them, and just as Mei’s Ice Clone had warned, her mother was injured, her presence weakened, and Mei’s wasn’t much stronger.
Her subordinates didn’t wait for orders, all shooting forward and encircling the fleet.
As expected, millions of automations poured out from the spacecraft, each erupting with immense magic power and divinity as they collided head-on with Kirone’s forces.
In mere seconds, the entire region became an interstellar battlefield.
Magic attacks streaked through space, and bursts of law energy erupted from several Authorities activating simultaneously, colliding with one another and warping the space around them.
One of the god Kings thrust his spear through an automation’s chest, piercing its core, and as he pulled the weapon back, he grabbed the exposed core and crushed it in his hand.
As the automation’s body went limp and drifted through the vacuum, he muttered, |These things… they’re remnants of Valkalonex’s army. Didn’t Prisma destroy all of them?|
Another automation rushed in from behind, only to be cleaved into pieces by another god King wielding a sword, who answered, |Clearly, he didn’t.|
Just then, a god Queen shouted at them, |Save the talk for later. Focus on clearing a path for Her Excellency.|
The two men nodded and charged forward, unleashing area-of-effect attacks that annihilated thousands of the weaker automations.
Under their lead, the New gods’ army swept through the waves of enemies, the clashes between the High-Tier Deities and the strongest Class of automations obliterating several planets in the system and even knocking the neutron star out of its orbit around the galactic centre.
Kirone ignored all of the ongoing fighting, immediately locking onto the spatial coordinates of the specific spacecraft carrying her family and teleporting directly onto it.
She could have teleported straight through the ship, but she didn’t, for a reason that became clear the moment she landed on its surface and placed her hand against its hull.
Not even her entire palm had made contact when she suddenly raised her hand, summoning a staff and swinging it upward, just as a fist appeared from nowhere and collided with her staff.
The cosmic energy shockwave released from the clash of her staff and the suddenly appearing fist shattered the spacecraft’s shield instantly, denting multiple sections of its hull.
Kirone frowned lightly, immediately generating a divinity shield with her left hand around the ship to protect it from the shockwaves of the surrounding battles.
She attempted to teleport the entire spacecraft to a secure location, but the instant she tried, she felt a strong resistance emanating from the ship itself. She quickly realised it was the effect of a powerful Authority acting on the vessel, countering her Spatial-Temporal Authority to prevent her from whisking it away.
As for the source of that Authority, it was naturally the figure that had just attacked her.
Clad in a black cloak, their face under their hood hidden in darkness, the figure matched the description Mei’s Ice Clone had given, and just like the clone had warned her, they were a Cosmic Superior.
Kirone quickly channelled power into her staff and swung it, forcing them backwards.
She immediately tried to analyse them, but her Chrono-Space Dominion had no effect on them whatsoever.
Not only could she not gather any information beyond the fact that they occupied space within her Dominion, but she also couldn’t perceive anything across their temporal axis, and her appraisal and analysis spells provided no further insight beyond their apparent power level.
This made Kirone’s frown deepen, but she didn’t lose her composure.
She had faced her fair share of unknown opponents over her thousands of years, and this was simply another one of them. The stakes were higher than ever, but that was all the more reason she couldn’t afford to lose her composure.
Unknown powers and abilities? She had her own, equally unknown to the rest of the universe.
Cosmic superiority? That was a special status, but one she also possessed.
She was capable of perceiving and manipulating the ambient cosmic energy that permeated the entirety of existence.
Divinity erupted from her body, and the ambient cosmic energy coiled around her staff as she shot forward toward the hooded figure, who remained still and silent for a moment before finally enveloping their fists in cosmic energy and charging straight at her.
