Reincarnated Hero System - Chapter 932 - 932: The Bounded Field’s Weakness

There was Arthur, his sword coated in a clashing mix of divinity and Anti-Divinity.
The boy stabbed his sword into the ground, then whispered.
“Extreme Nothingness: Seismic Surge.”
In that instant, the concentrated energies—an unstable fusion of time and destructive laws—erupted in a violent explosion.
The opposing forces, forced into a brief and volatile unity, tore through the earth, unleashing vast waves of seething purple energy that cascaded outward.
The purple explosion surged outward with an unmatched ferocity, sweeping across the battlefield like a devastating tidal wave.
Undead of every form—skeletal warriors, ghouls, and wraiths—were obliterated in an instant. The energy crashed into them, leaving no trace behind; bones crumbled to dust, rotting flesh evaporated, and ethereal forms dissipated into the void.
The blast carved a massive clearing within the Bounded Field, erasing over 10,000 undead creatures in a single breath.
And yet, the only reason the devastation did not spread further was because Arthur, with immense control, had halted the surge.
At the epicentre, he turned to find Evan suspended in the air, holding the two dumbfounded goddesses, while Idrilla stood wide-eyed and slack-jawed just outside the reach of his attack.
With a wry smile, he teleported directly in front of her, swinging his blade.
Idrilla reacted on instinct, raising her scythe to block his strike and Arthur’s questioning voice reached her ears.
“Why so surprised? Didn’t you say quantity was ineffective against us?”
“…it should have at least held you back for a longer time.”
She retorted, her expression strained as she struggled to fend off his strikes. To complicate matters, Evan decided to attack from the side, forcing her to send reborn adversaries to slow him down.
This diversion momentarily pulled her focus from Arthur, allowing him to slip past her defences. Though she managed to keep her scythe in hand, she couldn’t avoid the two slashes that marred her right arm or the stab wound that pierced her lower stomach.
Instinctively, she activated Shadow Step, teleporting away to safety. When she reappeared, she found her escape had gone smoothly and turned to see Arthur smiling at her.
‘He’s toying with me…’
Idrilla recognized that Arthur could manipulate space at will and was powerful enough to interrupt her teleportation—a fact he had demonstrated before. She understood that her successful escape was a deliberate allowance rather than a true victory.
Without a moment’s hesitation, she commanded Dominik and the demigod Necromancer to unleash fresh hordes of undead upon the two boys, ordering them to deploy any hidden trump cards they might possess.
Dominik’s brow furrowed at her order, but bound by the effects of her Bounded Field, he could not defy her command.
Releasing his maximum death energy—far beyond what he had wielded in life—he summoned gigantic, four-ringed magic circles that hovered around him.
They formed a grid, with one on each side, another above each of those, and one over his head.
The circles brimmed with death essence, expertly manipulated by his Unique Series skill, ‘Child of Death’, infused with dark magic and some non-attributed magic symbols.
To the casual observer, the five circles appeared nearly identical, completely indistinguishable.
No one would even think to look for differences in the heat of battle.
No one, that is, except a certain Rogue Hero.
As soon as those circles manifested, Evan’s head snapped toward Arthur and he shouted at the top of his lungs.
“ARTHUR!!!!!!!”
“?!”
Arthur whipped around at the sound of Evan’s shout, instantly concerned that his friend was in danger.
But Evan stood there, grinning wickedly, leaving Arthur perplexed by the urgency in his voice.
Dominik, however, went pale as realization struck him; he recognized that grin all too well.
The last time he had encountered that expression was on the day Evan had killed him, when he had unleashed this very Trump card.
The undead he had summoned then had been severely weakened upon their emergence, a result of Evan’s crafty interference.
Evan glanced at Dominik, making sure the man saw him as he shouted out two words.
“BOTTOM LEFT!!!!!!!!!!”
“NOO!!!!”
Dominik screamed in horror and Arthur immediately understood the assignment.
Arthur dashed forward faster than lightning, blitzing through the undead hordes and reaching Domnik’s position.
|¬Anti-gravity. ¬|
Zacular attempted to intercept him, but Arthur’s command sent the man hurtling skyward. In that same motion, Arthur swung Celestia down, striking the Bottom Left magic circle.
**KAABOOOOMMM!!!!!!
However, unlike Ralphie who barely damaged it, Arthur completely obliterated the magic circles in a violent display of energy.
Dominik was thrown backwards, crashing to the ground and coughing up dark blood from the backlash of his shattered spell.
Fuming with rage, he summoned another thousand Dullahans, hurling them toward Arthur with reckless abandon.
But Arthur was undeterred by the numbers.
As for Evan, having thwarted Dominik’s Trump Card summoning again, he laughed wildly and focused on the undead hordes.
Evan punched the ground in front of him, kicking up a cloud of dust and dirt to obscure his body from view.
Two streaks of crimson gold light then shot out, and the demigod Necromancer’s eyes widened as he saw not one, but two Evans!
With every swing of his sword, Evan cut down the skeletal warriors and ghouls that charged toward him.
Aura slashes flew out every second, each one tearing through the undead with ease while his Factor Mimic used Blade Cannon to mirror his movements.
‘A pity…I’m not to the level where I can have the Mimic use the same attacks as I do.’
Such a thought crossed his mind as he used Vortex to shred the undead to pieces while the Factor Mimic swung its blade and used Hell Unleashed.
“If I become a Legendary…I should be able to use that spell. World Magic: Spell Number 9.”
Evan spoke to himself as he walked over the ground littered with disintegrating bodies, bone and sinew dissolving into nothingness before his prismatic flames.
The demigod Necromancer didn’t engage him directly, silently glaring at Evan as he activated a technique.
He transformed into a stream of dark divinity, shooting through the air and merging with his strongest Death Knight, a towering humanoid clad in strong armour and shields.
‘Hmm…his undead aren’t that strong considering their enhanced level. Their armour is also weak. Arthur must have killed this guy when he was a Grandmaster or so…’
As he made his analysis, the Dark Knight before him roared, empowered by the demigod’s divinity, and turned its wrath on Evan.
But Evan was unfazed.
He activated Limit Break and covered himself with BoD’s destructive essence, kicking off the ground and barrelling towards the armoured Death Knight.
The creature was about to charge forward when a giant fist of ice collided with it from the side, knocking it to the left and Evan took advantage of its unbalanced state to strike.
He Space Warped to its left and thrust his sword forward, unleashing a Prismatic Vortex that shredded apart its weak armour, the destruction essence bypassing its durability and striking directly at the soul tethered within.
The impact reverberated through the air, and the necromancer’s connection was severed with a burst of energy that lit up the battlefield.
Though surprised it was easier to sever the connection than he expected, Evan didn’t hesitate as he turned his attention to the demigod who stumbled out of the wreckage.
Evan’s Factor Mimic used Electroflame + Fracture on the demigod, and when he turned to block with his dark divinity, the real Evan appeared from behind and repeated the combo on the back of his head.
Letting go of his sword, Evan proceeded to beat down the demigod with just fists, unleashing bursts of frostfire and lightning with each punch.
He and his Factor Mimic practically bullied the demigod, leaving him gasping for breath as the Legendary was turned into a punching bag.
The demigod tried to conjure defensive spells, but Evan was too quick, shattering any magic circle before it could fully form and landing blows that sent shockwaves through the necromancer’s body.
‘This guy can’t fight for shit.’—said the boy beating up the teenage demigod necromancer with a flurry of strikes that left him no chance to recover.
“Evan!!”
Evan turned around on Arthur’s call and saw the silver-haired teen rushing towards him with a wounded Dominik.
Immediately, he grinned as he understood Arthur’s intention.
Evan turned back to the demigod Necromancer whose face he had punched the living daylights out of. With a shrug, he pivoted towards Arthur, racing in his direction.
“Swap?” Arthur called out.
“Swap!” Evan confirmed.
In a seamless exchange, Evan hurled the half-dead demigod to Arthur, who tossed the half-dead Domnik to him.
Jumping up, Evan summoned his sword and coated it in as much destructive energy as he could muster.
In one fluid motion, he drove the weapon through Dominik’s neck, piercing through his torso, and penetrating his heart along the way, before emerging from the opposite end of his body.
**BOOMM!!!
The two crashed down on the ground with a loud blast, creating a cloud of dark dust that billowed into the air.
Meanwhile, Arthur summoned Celestia, swirling temporal and destructive energies around the semi-transparent blade.
With a thrust, he unleashed a torrent of purple light that surged toward the demigod, engulfing him in a blinding flash of energy.
When the brilliance faded, a massive crater—roughly a hundred meters wide and slightly less deep—marked the spot where the necromancer had once existed.
Not a trace of him remained; he had been utterly vaporized, not even an atom left behind.
Unsummoning Celestia, Arthur shrugged nonchalantly, mirroring the indifference he had shown when he originally killed this very same demigod.
“Well, that’s a wrap.”
Approaching the crater, he looked down to see Evan extracting his sword from the lifeless body of Dominik.
“That’s how you killed him before?”
“Yep. You also completely vaporized that demigod.”
Arthur nodded, extending his right hand in a gesture Evan mirrored, and they exchanged a friendly high-five.
“I really hated that guy’s guts…”
Evan muttered, a hint of satisfaction lacing his tone, but Arthur’s focus was elsewhere, locked on Dominik’s dissipating body of the necromancer.
|¬Hey, Idrilla. ¬|
He spoke with his Faux-True voice to ensure she heard him no matter the distance. Then he made a request.
|¬Summon that Necromancer back, I wanna check something. ¬|
Arthur’s words were met with silence, but he didn’t mind and kept speaking.
|¬What about Zach? The Nemo Celestial? Or that Malevolent god of Darkness? What was his name again, I think Layla said it was Kulir or so…? ¬|
Using his spatial powers, Arthur pinpointed Idrilla’s location, his gaze landing on her as he studied her expression.
|¬What’s wrong? Why aren’t you bringing them back? They’re what you call ‘Notable Adversaries’, are they not?
That’s why they had Legendary Level power even though they were weaker than that when they died. ¬|
The boy named ‘Zach’ and the demigod Necromancer Arthur just vaporized were both Superior Grandmasters at death.
But after being made ‘Notable Adversaries’, they possessed Legendary Level Power.
A nagging suspicion tugged at Arthur’s mind, a feeling that something was amiss. Evan sensed it too, and a thought crossed his mind.
‘Come to think of it, I have not seen the reborn Xakon, Maude, and Bhak again after I killed them…’
He turned to Arthur and asked.
“You thinking what I’m thinking?”
“Definitely.”
Arthur replied, a knowing look passing between them. In unison, they directed their attention back to Idrilla, their voices overlapping as they posed their question.
“If I had to make a guess…”
“If someone you designate as a ‘Notable Adversary’ is killed…”
Simultaneously, they finished.
“”You can’t summon them again, can you?””
Arthur and Evan gave Idrilla knowing smiles, finally causing her expression to crack.
“Arthur, Evan…fuck you two.”
