Reincarnated Hero System - Chapter 936 - 936: To the City

Evan sank to the ground, leaning back against a broken tree stump with a weary sigh.
Around him stretched a landscape of ruin: scorched earth, splintered trees, and the remnants of a once-vibrant forest reduced to smouldering fragments.
‘Can Arthur reverse this?’
The question lingered in his mind as a wave of exhaustion washed over him, making it nearly impossible to keep himself upright.
“Artemisia’s boost is gone, my limit break has gone off and so has BoD.
Damn…my body feels like a wreck.”
Drained of nearly all his energy, Evan could barely keep his eyes open.
Even if he’d wanted to harm Idrilla’s soul earlier, he realized he wouldn’t have had the power to do it.
Still, he allowed himself a small, tired smile. Because in the end—
“…I’m the one who got the final hit, huh?”
Indeed, he was.
[Level Up] x25
Evan’s level was 653. Idrilla was 750. She was exactly 97 Levels higher.
And it wasn’t just 97 Levels. 50 out of those Levels were Legendary Levels. And Evan was an Epic, as such, the amount of EXP gained was naturally higher since he’d killed a stronger existence.
Then, his extra EXP gain was factored into the equation. This was the result arrived at.
It should not be forgotten that he wasn’t the only one who participated in the battle.
This was the EXP left after it had been shared across Arthur—an existence who guzzled EXP—Artemisia and Beatrix, though the girls received far less than the two boys.
Even though, the reward was well worth the effort.

“My status is as lengthy as always, huh? Anyways, I got new slots so I guess I would be looking for new skills.”
Rather than adding more normal skills, Evan was looking to add Unique Skills to his repertoire. After all, he had a lot of normal skills he hardly used.
‘Where did I even get Nox Magic again?’
The boy was trying to remember where he’d acquired the skill when he sensed a sudden spatial shift behind him. Turning around, he watched as Arthur materialized out of thin air.
“…huh?”
Evan blinked, staring down at his hands, a look of confusion crossing his face.
“What’s wrong?”
“I…was able to sense your teleportation beforehand?”
Evan had never been able to tell when Arthur was teleporting before he did unless Arthur told him first.
But he just did.
“?”
Arthur raised an eyebrow, puzzled as to why Evan acted like that was weird. All he did was use divinity and spatial law energy, so as far as he was concerned, it only made sense that Evan sensed it.
“I don’t have a good affinity for spatial magic, and yet I was able to sense the spatial law energy of your teleportation beforehand.”
“??”
Again, Arthur did not understand what Evan was talking about until Artemisia who just finished drinking an energy potion spoke.
“You’re close to the Legendary Realm, Evan. Your soul has started forming nodes which would allow you to fully perceive and manipulate real law energy, not the imitation essence you use.
That’s why.”
“Ohh, I see.”
Evan replied, nodding and Arthur also nodded, only now realizing the difference. Since Arthur’s early years, he’d been able to perceive and wield law energy naturally; for him, sensing spatial law energy around teleportations was as routine as breathing.
“Anyway, you got a lotta levels, right?”
“Yeah. Idrilla was higher than me by nearly 100 levels, after all.”
Evan replied, using a sliver of energy to pull out a chair from his inventory, along with a recovery potion and some food.
“I’m tired as fuck. Can we postpone going to Iklaque for later?”
He looked over at Arthur, and both Artemisia and Beatrix turned their gaze his way, expectant.
“Why are you guys looking at me like I want to go there now?”
Arthur asked with a raised brow upon noticing their expressions and Artemisia responded candidly.
“Because you’re the one who’s most likely to make such a suggestion.”
Her response made Arthur sigh. He then glanced around the scorched landscape, before removing a ring on his right finger.
“As you can see, I am just as drained as you are. I want to rest as well.”
Arthur’s response caught them off guard. He rarely showed signs of exhaustion, always carrying himself as though he possessed boundless energy.
But even he had limits, though he’d rarely reached them.
Considering the battle they just fought, it made sense.
Arthur had faced off against thousands of Reborn Adversaries, many at the Legendary and Sovereign Levels.
He’d used his Unique Skill to obliterate waves of undead, and had a hard-hitting rematch with Crarox, and even for someone like him—with energy reserves worthy of resentment—it had been overwhelming.
Arthur had exhausted his available cosmic and law energies, as well as his anti-divinity, aura and magic power. There wasn’t much left of his divinity either.
Like the others, he needed to rest, especially with Iklaque ahead—where they were bound to encounter at least four Level 700s who would certainly be on edge from the shockwaves of their recent battle.
“They’re probably on guard due to the energy fluctuations of our fight.”
Arthur noted this as he drew in the ambient energy of the law of summoning. It should not be forgotten due to his battle prowess, but Arthur’s epithet on Aramis was the ‘Silver Summoner’.
He reminded the other three of this as he summoned an Invisible Scout, then ordered it to go and scout Iklaque.
“I get that we need to rest, but can we do it elsewhere? Like the stream from earlier.”
The sight of desolation around them was aesthetically unappealing and Arthur didn’t want to eat here.
The others nodded in agreement, so they trekked back through the ravaged forest to the pristine stream, where they set up camp, ignoring the city of Iklaque which was currently in a state of unrest.

Unnamed Forest
Iklaque Dimensional Realm
Plomux-North
May 18th
531st Divine Year
The next morning, refreshed from their rest, the four teenagers gathered their things and set off toward Iklaque.
Considering the extent of yesterday’s battle, their recovery had been remarkably fast—only about twenty hours had passed.
Arthur teleported them directly to the city, using coordinates his Invisible Scout had gathered.
They didn’t bother sneaking in; instead, they strolled right through the front gates after crossing the outer crop fields.
As for the welcome they received, it was far from warm.
“I mean, we expected this. But seriously, no decelerations or something.”
Evan commented from behind his Elemental Shield, which deflected the hail of arrows and bullets coming at them from every angle.
Arthur on the other hand, was silent, his gaze locked on a distant temple whose architectural style struck a familiar chord.
Majestic marble columns rose skyward; their surfaces were adorned with intricate carvings that told stories.
Towering archways framed the entrance, leading to a sprawling courtyard that hinted at the temple’s vast inner chambers.
Statues plated in gold flanked the grand staircase, their faces lifelike, exuding an aura of divinity intermingled with death. Sunlight gleamed off the domed roof, casting a radiant glow over the scene.
Arthur rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then stepped forward out of Evan’s Elemental Shield.
Instantly, every arrow, bullet, and spell hurtling toward him froze mid-air. He then lifted his palm, gathering gravity law energy, and pressed it down on the air.
‘Localized Gravitation.’
Immediately, the gravity around him increased immensely, slamming anything within range that wasn’t the three teenagers behind him—be it guards, arrows, or even weaponry—to the ground with an overwhelming force.
With most of Iklaque’s warriors pinned to the ground by that one move, Arthur strode forward down the city’s narrow streets.
As he moved, he sensed the presence of others hidden within nearby homes. A quick scan with his Pseudo-Authority confirmed Idrilla’s words about being the youngest.
“No one here has experienced less than 30 years’ worth of time…
They’re more than old enough to make and be responsible for their own decisions.”
Reaching the city centre, Arthur’s gaze caught sight of a monument similar to the one outside the Dimensional Realm, though this one bore all the commandments etched into its stone.
He barely paused, his disinterest evident as he passed it by.
Evan and the other two got closer and scanned the monument, reading all the full commandments there.
“Hmm…so basically the ‘Chief Priest’ is the highest Authority in the city?”
“According to this, they should be.”
Beatrix responded to Evan’s question, and the boy then glanced around the city around him, before looking up at the temple on the hill.
Despite being called a ‘city’, Iklaque was far too small to deserve that title.
Evan saw that Arthur had gone off to the temple on the hill, so he used Farsight to zoom his vision and then teleported with Blink, while Beatrix carried Artemisia along.
“Come to think of it, Idrilla did say we should kill them all…”
“She said, what?!”
Beatrix couldn’t help but exclaim when she heard Evan’s mutter, and the boy laughed before explaining Idrilla’s last wish to them.
He told them about her desire to end every single life in this city while making sure they suffered first.
“What do you think?”
“I say we have no reason to go through all that effort.”
Artemisia responded to Evan’s inquiry about their opinions, but Beatrix had a different view.
“I say we kill them all.”
She stated it so calmly, with zero expressions on her face—a very rare occurrence.
“I’m still very pissed at being attacked without a word yesterday, so if everyone here is like those guys who attacked us, so let’s kill them all. I’d help you.”
Beatrix continued as she walked forward, summoning her staff and twirling it around her fingers. Spatial power poured into the staff with each step, and seeing this, Artemisia and Evan realised Beatrix was dead serious.
“Hold on a second, young woman.”
Artemisia reached out and grabbed her, but just then, screams in a strange language caught her attention.
“Οι ξένοι έχουν φτάσει στο ναό!!”
“Οι πολεμιστές ηττήθηκαν!”
“Παντοδύναμα Θεέ, αποδέξου το ολοκαύτωμα μας και δώσε μας δύναμη!!”
“Θεέ μου, μη μας τιμωρείς!”
