“Let’s kickstart the new year with a BANG!!”
**KABOOM!!!
The earth trembled as an ear-shattering explosion ripped through the air, sending a searing shockwave across the landscape. A blinding crimson-gold flash of light preceded a towering mushroom cloud of fire and smoke, its fiery tendrils clawing at the heavens.
The force of the blast flattened everything in its vicinity—buildings crumbled, trees were uprooted, and the ground cracked beneath its sheer intensity.
Amid the chaos, the agonized screams of those caught in the explosion echoed through the air, a haunting symphony of terror.
Over it all, a single, manic laugh rang out—a delirious, unrestrained cackle.
It came from a grey-eyed teenager tumbling uncontrollably through the air, his body flung like a ragdoll by the shockwave.
Yet, even as he spiralled through the smoke-filled sky, there was no fear, only pure, unadulterated amusement.
Oh, and that massive explosion? Yeah, that was all him.
Now then, to understand why Evan was out here committing acts of terrorism on this fateful New Year’s Day, let’s rewind the clock a few hours earlier.
◇ ◇ ◇
Evan, Arthur, Artemisia and Beatrix left Iklaque right after Evan had completed his ascension to the Legendary Level, but they didn’t leave the Cyesera Region of Plomux until the next day after Artemisia and Beatrix had succeeded in becoming Legendries as well.
Thanks to the Divine Spark fragments from the dead Titan god, the two goddesses had zero problems in terms of energy supply.
As they were both ridiculously talented and could already use law essences, it wasn’t hard for them to form their Law Manipulation Nodes on their Souls.
Then, the three of them took impromptu Law Manipulation Lessons from Arthur.
Every Universal Law was distinct from one another in terms of manipulation methods.
The base manipulation methods of the things called ‘Universal Laws’ were the same, but once you started branching out into different laws, things changed.
It was just like magic power. Magic power manipulation at its root was the same , however, not everyone’s magic circuit was.
As such, the way Person A manipulated magic power was subtly different from Person B.
Universal laws were the same.
Fire Laws could not be manipulated in the same manner as Water Laws.
Destruction laws could not be manipulated in the same manner as Creation Laws.
As for why these two were used as examples, it’s naturally because those two were the laws Evan was going to have to learn to manipulate first.
Arthur, his temporary teacher, instructed him to focus on both of them first, mainly the law of Fire, before branching out.
But there were two things Arthur either forgot or did not know.
Number one, Arthur was unaware that Evan was a protagonist like him.
Number two, Arthur had no idea how ridiculous Evan’s flame affinity was.
Barely an hour into his Law Manipulation lesson, Evan was riding on a unicycle conjured with prismatic flames while juggling orbs of law energy like he was in a circus.
Artemisia and Beatrix could only stare at him dumbfoundedly.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that Evan possessed the memories of Arlan Maddox, the near-Transcendent former Hero of Future Aidos.
Arlan had reached the level of comprehending laws once, so he knew how to manipulate an array of laws.
Evan simply referenced those memories, combined with his innate affinity and soon the law of fire was licking his palm like a dog.
Arthur did show Evan a law manipulation method that was faster and more efficient than anything Arlan Maddox had ever known.
Evan was initially surprised, but then he came to two realisations.
This method was probably one of the reasons why Arthur’s energy seemed inexhaustible despite the strong potency of his attacks.
He also realised that Arthur, as the Prince of an Entire Universe’s ruling power, naturally had access to the most top-notch techniques.
Well, those things didn’t really matter in the end once he used his Mystic Eyes to copy Arthur’s energy flow, then after combining it with Arlan’s memories, he found the best way for himself, resulting in the scene of him juggling balls of flame law energy.
As for the law of Destruction? While not as easy as fire, it was still pretty easy since Evan had grown used to manipulating Destruction essence over the years.
In his own terms, all he had to do was upscale what he had already been doing for years.
NOTE: It was NOT that easy to switch from Law essence manipulation to Law energy manipulation. Evan was just abnormal.
Evidence of this was that Artemisia was still struggling with the law of Evolution.
Anyway, their lesson eventually came to an end and they began their journey back to Plomux Central where Alvey and the others were.
Artemisia and Beatrix were to split up some distance before they reached the demon territories and return to Gledea.
While they were flying atop the head of a Divine Dragon Arthur had summoned, they spotted a large number of soldiers moving on the ground.
At a glance, there were at least 5000.
Beatrix peeked down from atop the dragon, using spatial power to zoom her vision as she checked the uniform of the soldiers.
Unsurprisingly, they were Aramisians.
They also seemed to be heading in the direction of Plomux Central, where the demons were planning to attack soon.
The war had made deep progress while they were in Iklaque and the Aramisians were once again on the back foot.
If it continued at this rate, they would lose the continent of Plomux to the demons.
Beatrix stopped looking once she thought about this, her brain about to focus on how she’d cope without seeing Alvey for a while when her eyes caught sight of one particular figure amongst the thousands.
How did she notice this figure? There was no way her eyes would miss the brightly shining golden armour both they and their mounted horse wore.
What’s more, they were in the lead.
Seeing them, her eyes widened and she quickly retrieved a phone-like device from her Inventory. After going through some images, her lips curled up into an evil grin as she spoke.
“I just found one of Mum’s hit list targets!”
Hearing this, Arthur and Evan who were playing Want for Speed against each other, looked at her, then back at their portable consoles.
After a moment of deliberation, they simultaneously put away the consoles and Arthur spoke.
“We might as well wipe them all out.
Rom! Down, sweep ’em all with your breath.”
Arthur commanded the Divine Dragon, and though it clearly had misgivings about being told to attack its fellow Aramisians, when its other choice was death at Arthur’s hands, the dragon didn’t hesitate to charge down.
And just like that, the fate of over 10,000 Aramisian soldiers was decided to be death.
The power of this Superior Stage Legendary Level dragon poured down on the unsuspecting soldiers, consigning hundreds to the afterlife immediately.
Naturally, the commanders of this Army Division’s 10 battalions did not just sit back and let themselves be attacked one-sidedly.
They roused their divinities and drew their weapons, only for their faces to pale when they saw the black mask Arthur put on.
“s-silver summoner?!”
“IT IS I!”
Arthur, clearly enjoying his roleplay, responded with fervour as he spread his arms and conjured a dozen summoning circles.
From within, hundreds of Hellhounds began pouring out, their roars resounding through the area as they began tearing out the throats of the poor soldiers.
He summoned other godslayers from a different world, and the sight of the Aramisian Divine Humans and Low-Rank gods seemed to set something off in their heads as they charged forward like madmen.
Their power, already strong against the gods, increased even further when Arthur made a declaration.
|¬Your Progenitor Commands you. KILL THEM ALL. ¬|
Fighting on behalf of the Progenitor godslayer earned them temporary bonuses in strength, much like a Race Ruler’s Authority.
Evan joined the battle after a moment, his sharp gaze locking onto several figures who appeared to be commanders.
However, just as he prepared to engage them, their bodies were abruptly yanked into the air and drawn toward Arthur.
Without hesitation, Arthur unleashed a Gravitational Maelstrom, crushing the group into a grotesque, compact mass of ruined flesh and armour.
Evan grimaced at the scene but immediately turned to Arthur, raising his voice in protest.
“Hey! I wanted the commander kills!”
“Sorry. Take the vice commanders!”
“Vice commanders? The commanders give more EXP!”
“Yeah, that’s why I went after them.”
The sight of the two of them arguing in the air incensed the Aramisians. How could they speak of them as nothing more than sources of EXP?
Evan and Arthur stopped arguing, turned to face their attackers, and with unnervingly synchronized voices, they delivered the words that sealed their fate.
|¬Gravity x50. ¬|
“Mesarthim: Red; Flame Fan Formation.”
The effects were devastating. The Aramisians’ bodies were immediately pinned to the ground, bones snapping and muscles tearing under the crushing force of fifty times their normal gravity.
Before they could even cry out, Evan’s fiery attack swept over them—a wide, blazing arc of crimson flames that incinerated everything in its path.
Evan was about to protest again when he spotted Artemisia attacking one of the Vice Commanders in the distance.
“Hey! I called dibs!!!”
The boy unfurled his wings and dashed in that direction, immolating himself with prismatic flames and tearing a line of destruction through the soldiers he passed on the way there.
Molten craters and scorched bodies were left in Evan’s wake, Artemisia’s elemental attacks made the Aramisians feel like they got hit by a natural disaster, Beatrix cleaved through hundreds with her spatial attacks and Arthur crushed entire squads under their own weight.
The Aramisian division, overwhelmed and unable to regroup, crumbled under the powerful attacks of the four teenagers.
Of course, one of said teenagers summoned over a thousand Hellhounds, and his mere presence weakened the divines among them by 30%. Meanwhile, another was running after the fleeing Aramisian Legendries, yelling “Hell Unleashed!” while igniting flames so intense even Infernal Devils would double take.
Yet, when the dust settled, the devastation was primarily the work of just four teenage boys and girls.
At one point, the Aramisian soldiers turned to suicide bombers trying to at least take down one of them with their deaths, but the four teenagers avoided all such attempts.
Some of Arthur’s summons got caught up in the suicide bombing attempts, but it wasn’t really a problem since they didn’t face real death.
Towards the end of the battle, Evan decided to experiment with his new abilities.
He singled out an unfortunate vice commander as his guinea pig. After beating the living daylights out of the man, Evan crouched in front of him and asked.
“Did you know? The average Level 730 Legendary like you can withstand flames reaching up to 1000 degrees Celsius?
Have you ever wondered just what it feels like?”
Before him, the man was writhing around like a worm in salt, screaming for his life as prismatic flames burned him. Sadly, no one heard his screams as they were muffled by Evan’s basic wind magic that blocked sound.
“That also means I can’t hear your response and know what it feels like. Too bad.”
Right now, Evan was acting like an unhinged psycho. But! It wasn’t because he had gone crazy.
He was trying to understand flames, driven by the constraints of his Mesarthim skill.
