- Chapter 1689 - 1689: Departing Once More

After taking a warm bath and getting all dressed up and geared up, Aquarina and her friends walked into the wilderness once more, this time, instead of walking all the way where they left off, they used Leviathan to travel where the third Giant Fire Ant Nest was located.
The remains didn’t even look like they did before, resembling a place covered with mud and wet soil from all the water they poured down. All the ashes left behind, now wet, merged with the soil and gave it some necessary nutrients as well.
In just a day since they left, there were already mushrooms growing here and there, and small little plants have begun sprouting from the wet ash and soil merged together, grass could already be seen covering certain patches of dirt.
“Whew, looks like nature around here works really damn fast!” Said Aquarina. “What’s up with that?”
“It must be because of the high concentration of Spiritual Energy,” Khepri suddenly said. “I can sense it flowing everywhere, the Spirits of Water, Nature, and Earth are constantly converging and creating new life. It seems they really wanted the ants gone… maybe except the fire spirits, who have weakened a lot.”
“Leave those on their own I guess, we don’t really need them around,” Agua said. “This place has always been mostly where Nature, Earth, and Water Spirits thrived the most. So it’s nice they’re happy around here.”
“I wonder if anybody could see these creatures though? You say there are other types of spirits out there than the ones we know?” Silvia asked.
“You mean the Spirits of the World?” Khepri asked. “Yes they exist everywhere, Silvia. It’s basic knowledge. They’re the primary pillars of all the elements of the world, water, fire, winds, life, death, darkness, light, everything is built up to an extent by them!”
“What? Really?” Justicio wondered. “That’s quite interesting, I had heard about them and all but I never imagined they were just the pillar of everything… Usually some would believe that’s the gods.”
“The gods don’t maintain creation, that’s a lie,” Khepri said. “It’s the Spirits everywhere that do that. If anything the Gods are just sitting down watching things happen, they’re a very lazy and hypocrite bunch. Never worship gods.”
“A-Are you sure you should be saying that out of nowhere? What if we receive divine retribution or something?!” Silvia asked.
“No such thing will happen, dummy!” Khepri sighed. “Though, now that I think about it, you people do worship that Great Spirit of the Oasis, huh? I do remember her from somewhere, I think from the time I served the gods myself. I am not too sure, but I think she might be a similar spirit to me.”
“Really? I thought you were just bullshitting back then,” Silvia said.
“You have to believe me! I don’t lie! I literally can’t lie!” Khepri kept saying. “And I wasn’t bullshitting, my memories are coming back sometimes. When I saw her, I had glimpses of that.”
As they walked through the landscape, Khepri and everyone else kept talking about what she saw in her memories, as everyone became more intrigued about her connection with the Great Oasis Spirit.
“So what did you remember, Khepri?” Agua wondered. “I wouldn’t dare not believe the words of a great spirit like you, so feel free to share them with me, I will not laugh about you or something either.”
“Ah, I know, you’re such a good girl, Agua~ Compared to Silvia, you’re literally a saint!” Khepri laughed.
“Hey, don’t compare me with Agua, I’ll lose every time anyway,” Silvia complained. “She’s indeed much better than I am!”
“S-Silvia, don’t say that, I think everyone has their own talents,” Agua smiled. “You’re a wonderful person yourself. A good fighter, a good friend, and a walking sunshine.”
“Aaww… Okay I take back what I said,” Silvia giggled.
Khepri glared at the two girls acting all cutely and she felt annoyed more than anything, she was still getting used to living surrounded by teenagers.
After all, she had to get used to it quickly anyway, this was her new life now.
“Okay, I’m going to explain to you what I saw, so pay attention and don’t say anything dumb while I explain,” said Khepri.
As she walked with everyone else, she began her explanations and telling of what she saw.
“Okay, so I think I saw three glimpses of my past. The first one was within the inside the giant Ark of the Gods. It was when I was just created and learning the ropes about what we did, and even then I don’t quite remember what I even learned, but there were a lot of spirits like me. Among them, one that was an older senior was there, she was blue and with long hair made of water, she had the exact same appearance as the one you worship, but smaller!” Khepri said.
“R-Really?!” Agua wondered. “Wow… I never thought we would ever learn about the Oasis Spirit’s past!”
“I remember… Um, I think she was quite friendly, looking over and taking care of the “newbies” while she did her own job taking care of the expansion of… the expansion of what? I don’t remember though… Maybe water? Seas? I don’t know. But she was assigned to the surface of the planet alongside me and a few others.”
“Is that your second memory fragment?” Silvia asked.
“Yeah, yeah, it is,” Khepri nodded. “And the last thing I saw was her… us, surrounded by gigantic and ugly monsters. They resembled utter messes made of black and slimy flesh, black mud and miasma… and they had many jaws and eyes, and tails. I think… I don’t know what exactly they were.”
“Miasmic Beasts?” Aquarina wondered. “So if you’re talking about the past, that means that you and other spirits went to the surface and fought Miasmic Beasts.. did something happen after that?”
“I think we were defeated, and I passed out… not before we defeated a lot of them!” Khepri said. “But yeah, the last thing I saw was a strange being among the miasmic beasts as you call them, it was… something weird. It was humanoid and yet not, made completely out of pure darkness, it didn’t have a normal head, but its head was a floating ball of shadows…”
