Chapter 1740: You Can Do It!
—–
“Look, Aquarina… I know you can do it,” Sylphy suddenly said. “You’ve got all the strength you’ve cultivated so far. And you have all your friends, who are amazingly strong, mostly thanks to you and the help you’ve given to them! And then there’s your parents, super strong as well! If they love you, then I am sure they’ve been training nonstop, right?”
“Yes, Undine told me…” Aquarina said. “They even have Divinity Aspects.”
“See?! Then they’re much stronger than before! I guess you don’t really know the difference between someone at Tier 10 and then when they obtain Divinity Aspects, right? My dad became several times stronger!” Sylphy said. “I am sure yours will be the same.”
“Hmm… You think so?” Aquarina wondered. “I… I don’t know what’s wrong with me, why am I so worried and everything? I’m kind of… I don’t want anyone to die…”
“I know how that feels, you’ve simply… Erm, become more aware of everything, and less… well, reckless,” Sylphy explained. “It means you’ve really matured a lot! It means you’re thinking beyond just what you can see in front of you and more into hypothetical events, things that might happen, but haven’t. Although this is a good thing, sometimes, if you overdo it, you’ll only become paranoic about it, and it’ll end up biting you back.”
“So worrying is fine but not too much?” Aquarina wondered. “Hahaha… Okay, I get it. I’ll employ everything I have. I am sure my parents will make some strategy too.”
“Yeah! Don’t worry,” Sylphy nodded. “Or well, worry a little! Never become too conceited. Never let your wins get over your head. It’s nice to celebrate, to be confident about oneself, but only to the point it doesn’t end up becoming detrimental for your growth.”
“Thank you Sylphy… I really needed to hear that from you,” Aquarina felt happy. “I love you so much… I-I don’t know… I don’t know what to say… Do I even deserve someone like you? Sometimes I think… that I’ve acted in such ways that… I’m such a stupid person sometimes… A-And I… I’m sorry if I’ve been rude or something… Sometimes it feels like… like I don’t really deserve you, or our friends… that I’m not good enough…”
Aquarina felt happy, but then started crying little by little, as Sylphy saw Aquarina opening her heart completely to her, showing how she truly felt sometimes.
“A-Aquarina…” Sylphy quickly embraced her in a tight, big hug, as she felt her crying over her shoulders. “Y-You’re none of those things! You’re an amazing person already! Please cheer up! I’ve never thought of you badly either! Nobody has! Our friends all love you! I think you’re simply… overthinking things. I love how you are, and even your great attitude! Sometimes, that’s what we need, someone with a strong attitude that can help us get going. To not become stagnant… I owe a lot of my growth to you too! So please… don’t cry, or you’re going to make me cry as well, you know? Sniff…”
“A-Ah! I-I’m sorry…” Aquarina muttered. “Do you really think all these things about me?”
“Of course…! A-And many more! So don’t ever say such things again, okay? They’re all just your head playing tricks on you! It’s nice to think and plan ahead, but don’t let that overthinking make you feel lesser than the rest…” Sylphy said. “Perhaps you committed a few mistakes, but who hasn’t? And they aren’t anything that would deserve the hatred of anybody, just mistakes everyone makes. Little things that have little importance- But I’m happy you’re also thinking back about your attitude… I’m fine either way but… I’m also happy you’re trying to improve!”
Sylphy was a bit desperate, trying to say as many nice things as possible to help Aquarina cheer up a little, she had honestly never seen her this way before, except back then when they were toddlers.
It was almost as if that old, crybaby Aquarina never truly left, she was still there, deep down, inside of Aquarina’s heart.
Maybe she became rowdy, with a big attitude, and sometimes a bit too reckless to mask that past self she had, her overly worried, prone to crying self.
“And… and I love you so much, I love you more than anything, Aquarina! M-My cute Aquarina…!” Sylphy hugged Aquarina, lifting her head and kissing her lips, while cleaning her tears. “Everything will be fine! I promise you… I really promise you everything will be alright!”
“Sniff… Sorry, I don’t know what got into me… Thank you,” Aquarina muttered, as she calmed down a little. “I guess I had… a lot bottled up inside my heart…”
“Y-Yeah! Happens a lot, hahaha!” Sylphy giggled. “But! But it’s also nice to let it all out, so you can feel better afterwards. We… we were not made to bottle up all our feelings like that. We are emotional creatures after all, and social as well. It’s only within our nature for these things to happen, it’s natural. To cry… to feel sad, to regret past decisions. It just part… of being a human being, I think!”
“Of being a human being…?” Aquarina wondered, and then… “Pff… Hehe…! Hahah, I guess so…! You sometimes talk a lot of weird stuff…”
“W-Weid?!” Sylphy felt slightly shocked, she tried her best to make her feel happy and this was the response?!
“In… a good way!” Aquarina said. “Thank you… It’s just that usually that’s not something anybody would say, heheh… But I guess that’s what makes you so unique Sylphy! Thank you… for loving me.”
“Geez! You don’t have to thank me for that! I’m also happy you love me… even after so long. I really thought you would find another girlfriend!” Sylphy said.
“Eeh?!” Aquarina gasped. “W-What…?! I would never!”
“Hahaha! I was joking!” Sylphy was the one to mess with her now. “Look at your face! You’re so shocked… Of course I’m joking!”
“Y-You little…!”
Aquarina got all red, blushing, as she jumped over Sylphy and started tickling her belly, and then her neck and armpits.
