- Chapter 1845 1845: Fighting The Ancestor Himself!

—–
Aquarina, Justicio, Silvia, and Pyuku stepped forward, ready to face the final challenge of the Inheritance.
“Good! Looks like you’ve all chosen to fight,” the Ancestor said with a nod, his aura flaring with such intensity that the very air trembled. “The rules are simple. You may use any power at your disposal—magic, familiars, weapons, anything. I’ll do the same. If I knock all of you down, you’re out. But if you can push me to the point where I can no longer fight or lose consciousness, then you win.”
The trio exchanged glances—no, the quartet, as Pyuku emerged behind them, his many tentacles unfurling like banners in the wind. He positioned himself as support, ready to assist the others however he could.
“Alright, let’s do this, old man,” Aquarina said, gripping her dagger tightly—the one Sylphy had gifted her. “You’re going to regret saying that!”
“Heh, that’s the spirit, you damn brats! Gahahahahah!”
The old Ancestor laughed heartily. The ground beneath him cracked and shattered as he launched forward with the speed of a thunderbolt. In an instant, he was upon Aquarina, his massive stone axe raised high.
“{Primordial Stone Axe Arts}: {Century Cleave}!”
With a thunderous roar, his axe unleashed a devastating wave of power. Aquarina tried to dodge, but the sheer pressure of the attack froze her in place. Her eyes widened as visions—centuries of memories not her own—flashed before her. The technique carried not just force, but the weight of time itself.
BOOOOMMM!!!
A colossal explosion erupted. Aquarina was hurled backward, her body tumbling across the ground. She had barely managed to shift half of her form into shadow, allowing the attack to pass through her partially. Even so, the residual force of the blast tore through her, leaving her battered and bleeding.
“Aquarina?!”
Her friends gasped in horror. Their strongest member had been overwhelmed in a single strike. The Ancestor grinned, his eyes gleaming with battle-lust. Justicio and Silvia stood frozen, struggling to process what they had just witnessed.
And yet…
“Heh… attagirl.”
As the dust settled, the Ancestor’s arm was revealed—pierced by a black dagger. Miasmic poison pulsed through his veins, draining his energy with every heartbeat.
“What? What the—?!” Justicio gasped.
“She stabbed him!” Silvia exclaimed, a smile breaking through her shock.
Aquarina staggered to her feet. Her left arm bled profusely, even after reverting from her shadow form. The damage had carried over—her muscles torn, her bones cracked.
“Hah… did you think I’d let you land a hit like that without giving you something in return?” she said, spitting blood. “Get ready. I fight dirty.”
She raised her arm, and the dagger dissolved into shadows. The Ancestor’s eyes widened as the weapon burrowed deeper into his flesh.
“What…?!”
Without hesitation, he swung his axe at his own arm. To everyone’s shock, he cleaved it off entirely, severing the poisoned limb before the corruption could spread.
CLASH!
The arm hit the ground and disintegrated into particles of light. Aquarina’s dagger clattered beside it. She recalled it with a flick of her wrist, just as Justicio and Silvia surged forward, their power flaring.
Justicio’s Fusion Armor materialized in a blaze of gold, red, and green. His spirit merged fully with the armor, surrounding him in a tempest of wind, light, sand, and flame.
Silvia wasted no time. Khepri manifested around her, encasing her in a full-body mechanical suit. Twin soul-forged hammers appeared in her hands, and a radiant aura of golden-white spirit energy enveloped her.
“You cut off your own arm?!” Aquarina shouted, stunned.
The Ancestor grinned, unfazed. Even with one arm, he radiated confidence. He pointed his axe at the two charging warriors.
“Of course I did! You got me good. Now I’ll take this seriously.”
With a roar, he met their charge. Justicio braced himself, layering his armor for defense. Silvia unleashed a barrage of cannon blasts and laser beams, her hammers swinging with precision.
But it wasn’t enough.
“{Primordial Stone Axe Arts}: {Millennium Blow}!”
CRAAASH!
The Ancestor’s axe collided with both of them in a single, sweeping strike. A shockwave erupted, sending Justicio and Silvia flying. Their armor—both spiritual and mechanical—shattered like glass. Deep, jagged wounds tore across their chests.
“Aaagggh!”
“Ugh!”
They hit the ground hard, groaning in pain. Aquarina’s eyes widened in disbelief. He had taken them both down in one blow.
She rushed forward, channeling her Spirit Aura into her staff—the one Sylphy had given her. A healing domain bloomed around her, golden light washing over her fallen friends.
But the Ancestor wasn’t finished.
He conjured a new arm from stone and charged again.
“You’re trying to heal them? How adorable! Hahahaha!”
He swung his axe and his massive stone fist, striking Aquarina repeatedly. She resisted with everything she had—her aura, her skills, her divinity—all flaring at once.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Four brutal strikes landed in quick succession. Aquarina coughed blood, her body crumpling. She was hurled backward, crashing into her friends. The healing domain shattered. All three lay in a heap, bloodied and broken.
And it had taken less than thirty seconds.
“You thought losing an arm would slow me down?” the Ancestor laughed, stepping toward them. “Don’t be foolish. I’ve faced worse. You young ones have no idea what real hardship looks like. You don’t know the horrors we heroes endured in the past.”
He stood tall, his aura still burning like a wildfire. Despite the missing arm, despite the poison, he remained unshaken.
Aquarina groaned, trying to rise. Her body screamed in protest, but she refused to give in.
Justicio stirred beside her, his armor gone, his spirit flickering.
Silvia coughed, her mechanical suit in ruins, her hammers shattered.
And yet, none of them gave up.
They had come too far.
They had endured too much.
And they still had each other.
Aquarina clenched her dagger, her hand trembling.
“We’re not done yet,” she whispered.
The Ancestor raised an eyebrow.
“Oh? Still got some fight left in you?”
He grinned.
“Good. Then let’s see what you’re really made of.”
