Chapter 1848: The Last Push!
—–
“What sort of magic is this? Are you kidding me?!”
The Ancestor’s voice trembled with a mix of disbelief and awe. His ancient eyes widened as he watched the new generation of warriors unleash powers that defied everything he thought he knew. Even after centuries of decline, these young souls had managed to push magic to astonishing new heights. Their mastery, their unity—it was beyond anything he had expected.
“Heh…!”
A crooked smile formed on his weathered face. He braced himself as Aquarina and her companions surged forward, their bodies glowing with elemental fury. Lightning crackled around their fists, flames danced across their arms, and radiant light and biting ice swirled in tandem. Each strike landed with explosive force, hammering into the Ancestor’s body without pause.
“{Thunderous Maelstrom Punch}!”
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Aquarina’s fists became a storm of oceanic power and thunder, each blow rippling with the might of crashing waves and roaring skies. The Ancestor staggered, forced into a defensive stance as the relentless barrage pushed him back step by step.
“{Blazing Thunder Claws}!”
Two colossal fists, forged from magical and spiritual steel, absorbed the ambient thunder around them. Black lightning surged through their cores, mingling with searing flames. They tore into the Ancestor’s defenses, shattering his stone walls and cracking his hardened skin. The ground trembled beneath their fury.
“Not bad…! Not bad at all, but not enough! NOT ENOUGH!”
The Ancestor roared, his voice echoing through the ancient chamber. His magic flared violently, summoning a cascade of boulders that rained down upon the young warriors. But Aquarina and her allies met each one with defiance, their punches shattering stone and sending shockwaves through the inheritance chamber. Cracks spiderwebbed across the walls and ceiling, dust and debris falling like snow.
“That’s all you’ve got, brats?! With this, you can’t even hope to defeat the monster we once fought in the past! Hahahaha!”
Despite being clearly overwhelmed, the Ancestor remained prideful and cocky. His axe transformed into a giant hammer, which he swung down, increasing its size several times over.
“{Primordial Stone Hammer Arts}: {Millenary Titan’s Palm}!”
It was no longer just a hammer. As it descended, it resembled a gigantic titan made of stone, its hand rushing down to crush them. Aquarina, Silvia, Justicio, Pyuku, and the Spirits gathered all their remaining energy, concentrating it into a single point.
“RAAAAHHH!”
They roared, their cries unifying into the roar of a dragon. Aquarina’s Draconic Heart beat faster and faster, Draconic Energy fueling her fists as they rushed forward, punching through the hammer with immense force.
The hammer pushed them down hard, but cracks began to form. To the Ancestor’s shock, it exploded into countless fragments, massive boulders raining from the sky.
BOOOMMM!!!
“W-Wha…?!”
Even he couldn’t believe it. His Divine Weapon, or rather, a Soul Weapon copy of it, had shattered into pieces…
He was a much weaker version of his former self. Still, he had believed he could defeat these brats and force them to return a year later, stronger and wiser.
But he was wrong. These young warriors had no time to waste. A year was far too long, especially for someone like Aquarina.
“HAAAAHH!”
They charged him together, unified in Heart and Soul. Though they could no longer combine like before due to depleted energies, they punched and kicked the Ancestor with unwavering resolve.
“Hahah…!”
The Ancestor laughed, showcasing his incredible fighting abilities. He clashed against them barehanded, using just one arm, kicking and punching, evading blows, and occasionally hurling giant boulders.
But eventually…
BAAAM!
“Ugh…!”
They struck him in the face, their spirits aligned, just a moment before their energy fully depleted. The Ancestor collapsed to the ground.
He lay there, unmoving. Aquarina, Silvia, and Justicio’s powers faded. They couldn’t even summon their Auras. Pyuku had shrunk to the size of a grape.
And yet, they walked toward him, weapons raised. Their bodies were rugged and bloodied, their clothes and armor torn apart…
But their eyes remained unwavering.
The Ancestor smiled at their determination. He closed his eyes and nodded, too exhausted to move a finger.
“I concede… you’ve won.”
Aquarina, Silvia, and Justicio smiled, but then their eyes rolled back as they collapsed on the spot. The Ancestor vanished into particles of light. A great force surged toward the young warriors. Three spheres of power fused into their bodies.
FLAAASH!
They received the other half of the inheritance as promised. The power was immense, almost absurd compared to what they had gained before. Their bodies regenerated rapidly, strength returning in full, and they began to grow even further.
Slowly, they awoke to a bright golden light encompassing their bodies. Their Physiques and Magic Circles developed rapidly, gaining new Strength and Inscribed Runes. They felt themselves Ranking Up, power rising steadily.
Aquarina slowly opened her eyes, watching system messages appear one after another…
