- Chapter 1881 1881: A Talk About What Aquarina Saw

“I know, I know, but it could be? I mean, even now, we have yet to discover the true power behind dungeons, and if there’s a god that controls them all, it probably means they’re connected to divine power,” I explained. “And if that’s the case, then the possibilities are quite literally endless! I want to visit that place and find the truth now!”
“Ah, here we go again… Nerdy Sylphy mode activated,” Aquarina giggled, poking my nose. “You’re cute when you get passionate about something like that, haha.”
“Eeh? Don’t make fun of me! There’s nothing wrong with it…” I sighed. “I just want to find out more about the world, aren’t you curious?”
“I mean… sure! If you want to, I’ll come along, I’m a bit curious, yeah,” Aquarina nodded.
I guess Aquarina’s personality is a bit more relaxed…
Also maybe she gives everything for granted because she isn’t someone that reincarnated from a much more boring world.
But yeah, I definitely want to go there!
“What were the people living there like?” I asked her.
“Aaah…!” she started thinking. “Um, I think they were called… Mollusks? No, Molluskians. Mom and dad said the were like sea snail people, with colorful skin and pointy antenna… like sea snails they also had… those shells. They said their shells were made of some sort of magical metal, and they were also covered by spirit crystals which they fashioned into various shapes. Their shells were… like natural sanctuaries for spirits, and they had a lot of magical power each. They said that a common civilian were comparable to Rank 9 Magicians. So who knows what could be trained soldiers or mages.”
“No way, is that real?” I wondered. “That means they’re a naturally gifted race! And they seem to be kind of similar to Demons but maybe they really weren’t born from there… you said they came from the past? But how old?”
“Um, mom said they were running away from the gods,” said Aquarina. “No, she told me that they told her that, yeah.”
“Running away from the gods…” I thought about it. “Hey guys, can you come?”
I quickly summoned Alice, Yggdra, and then Ignatius and Beelzebub, asking them about what we were talking about while giving them some context.
“Molluskians? Never heard of them in my life, and that’s saying something because I was once in charge of the Demon King’s army and everything,” Beelzebub said. “There wasn’t a single demon Village or Kingdom I didn’t know about.”
“I haven’t heard of them either…” Ignatius said. “We dragons are quite knowledgeable about a lot of things but… No, I had no idea a race of sea snail people every existed… there’s no such records anywhere.”
“Hmm, and you said they ran away from the gods…?” Alice asked. “That’s really fascinating.”
“Maybe they truly used Prime Magic to travel to the future… unlike traveling to the past, traveling to the future shouldn’t be too hard, as it simply keeps you or your surroundings within an area of Time Stasis, you don’t really need to modify the world around you,” Yggdra explained. “It simple allows for Time Dilation to the point what they felt like seconds or minutes was thousands of years outside.”
“Wow, so it’s like creating a bubble of super slowed time?” I asked.
“Indeed, that’s something you can already do within your Dungeon… or well, you can’t control it I suppose,” Alice explained. “But yes, it is quite possibly something related to that.”
“Yggdra, why do you know so much?” Aquarina wondered, curious.
“Ah, I simply know a lot about magic from my own experiments with it,” Yggdra said. “Time Magic was something I was curious about. I found the Essence of Time within the Dungeon as I connected to it with my Secondary Body and my Roots, and found out that I could manipulate it.”
“You can?!” I asked in disbelief.
“Yes…” nodded Yggdra in her fairy form. “But it’s unstable, so we better not try anything for now, Sylphy. However, I would go as far as saying that it has the possibility to do incredibly great things one day… all things considered, it’s too dangerous, but it has given me quite a lot of insight of the composition of your Dungeon. In essence, it is indeed like a pocket dimension, a world of your own with several layers, the floors.”
“Oooh…” I nodded. “I didn’t bring you here to talk about that in specific, but it’s really interesting because it might actually correlate with what Aquarina talked earlier, about dungeons and how this one somehow time traveled…? Could it be that their King or whatever used an artifact of great magic to manipulate the Time Essence inside a Dungeon? Does that mean that Dungeons already existed before the Gods settled down?”
“Wait, so the god of Dungeons didn’t create them?!” Aquarina asked.
“He very well has created most of them…” Alice said. “However, this could mean that the God of Dungeons has taken over the “Authority” of these Dungeons… or perhaps whatever the Molluskians did ended trapping them inside a Dungeon. We’re in the dark here, but finding out more about the Molluskians and their Ancient Civilization could quite possibly uncover a lot about the forgotten past, the true composition of dungeons and their origins… and perhaps we could even learn more about the gods’ true origins… The more we know about our enemies, the better prepared we will be for the inevitable.”
“For the inevitable…” Aquarina muttered. “Yeah, I had already made up my mind back then and right now I’m still the same, when the times come, Sylphy… I’ll be by your side, ready.”
“Aquarina… Haha, relax, we don’t even know if that will ever happen,” I said. “A lot of things would need to happen for such a thing… honestly, I’m more intrigued about the Molluskians than anything else… However, you’re not wrong, Alice, it could give us a lot of valuable clues about the gods, and the past they’re trying to hide from us.”
