Chapter 1899: The Next Day
—–
As the next morning arrived, I slowly woke up feeling groggy. I was naked and sweating, lying right next to my equally naked girlfriend. She looked stunning, and I wouldn’t mind waking up to this sight every day, but I could do without the constant nudity. Aquarina’s libido was simply too intense.
Was it because she was an Amazoness? I had heard their kind possessed powerful desires, mating with their partners every night without fail, even during travels. Sex seemed deeply woven into Amazon culture, a vital way to strengthen bonds.
My own human tribe was far more ordinary, or at least it was supposed to be. My father’s clan certainly wasn’t typical, but in general, human drives felt average and restrained.
Elves, on the other hand, had almost no sex drive. As long-lived beings, they rarely indulged, perhaps once every hundred years if they found a truly beloved partner.
My mother and father were clear outliers, both incredibly passionate in bed. I imagined Dad must miss Mom terribly after two years apart, though she would return soon, in just a few weeks.
Anyway, as a half-elf, my own desires weren’t overwhelming, but Aquarina’s enthusiasm always ignited something in me. Perhaps our shared Draconification played a role too.
During our transformation, I suddenly caught a sweet, intoxicating scent from her, and she said the same about me.
That fragrance had fueled our passion, leading to hours of endless intimacy.
Dragons might be similar to elves in restraint, but when they found their bonded mate, they lost all control.
Thankfully, we were both girls, so pregnancy wasn’t a concern. If one of us were male, it would have been chaotic, with children arriving constantly. No thank you.
I already had plenty of “kids” to care for with all my familiars.
Enough rambling. Time to wake up.
“Aquarina, we need to get ready. You have that test today… Aquarina!”
I poked and prodded until she finally opened her sleepy eyes and glared at me adorably.
She looked so cute that I leaned in and kissed her lips.
“Mwah. Time to wake up, baby.”
“Hm… I want to sleep forever…”
“I know, but it’s almost one in the afternoon. We definitely missed breakfast.”
“What? No way…!”
Aquarina bolted upright, seeing the sun high in the sky.
“Ugh, fine… Let’s take a quick shower.”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
We hurried to the bathroom. On the way, Esmeralda spotted our naked forms and pointed excitedly.
“Wawah!”
“Haha, did she get mad?” I laughed.
“She’s just a baby. She can’t tattle to Mom and Dad anyway,” Aquarina shrugged.
We closed the door, only for Esmeralda to start knocking, clearly wanting to join.
Eventually, her loud cries won us over, and we let her in.
“Wawahh! Aee!”
She splashed water everywhere, then dashed around the slippery bathroom, sliding and falling flat on her face before bursting into tears.
“Waahhhh!”
“Geez, Esmeralda, calm down. No running on wet floors…”
Aquarina soothed her with a warm hug while I gently washed the toddler’s long, beautiful white hair.
“Mama…!”
Esmeralda clung to Aquarina, trying to drink milk from her.
“W-Wait! I’m not Mama! Stop! Ouch!”
“Hahaha!”
The whole scene was absurd, but I couldn’t hold back my laughter.
After the bath, Esmeralda dashed off to her real mother for milk.
“Ugh, I could never handle a kid. They’re impossible,” Aquarina sighed, rolling her eyes.
“I agree,” I nodded. “We already have enough with all our familiars.”
“Right?!” she exclaimed. “That’s plenty! I don’t want any more for now… maybe ever!”
“Well, you never know. You might change your mind someday,” I giggled.
Aquarina raised an eyebrow at me.
“Sylphy, we’re both girls. Even if we wanted to, it wouldn’t be possible…” she said. “Though adopting could work. You mentioned one of your retirement dreams was opening an orphanage, right?”
“Yeah, it’s just a small dream,” I nodded. “As an elf, I’m not sure we ever truly ’retire.’ Sometimes we take centuries off and then return to work. That’s how Mom does it.”
“Huh,” Aquarina nodded. “Anyway, it’s probably better we can’t have kids.”
“Y-Yeah… I mean, there’s actually something,” I muttered softly.
“What?” she pressed.
“Nothing…” I quickly decided against mentioning a certain potion.
“Tell meeee…” Aquarina insisted as we headed downstairs, her hands on my shoulders, gently massaging them. “What secret are you hiding~?”
“Um… well, there’s a potion Master Felicia made…” I finally admitted, explaining its effects.
“A penis potion?!” she yelled.
“A-Aquarina! Lower your voice!” I hissed.
“A-Ah, sorry,” she whispered. “Is anyone downstairs?”
As we descended, I spotted Dad washing dishes with Ruby’s help. The two were deep in conversation about Cultivation Methods and Spells, bonding over their shared Fire element. Ruby had learned so much Fire Magic and Spirit techniques from him.
Thankfully, they were too engrossed to notice Aquarina’s outburst. Still, the idea of a potion that could temporarily grant one of us male anatomy left her stunned.
“Is this for real?” she whispered in awe. “Wow… everything I thought just changed. Maybe we could have a kid after all?”
“Y-You want to?! I thought you didn’t…” I murmured.
“I only gave up because I thought we couldn’t. But now… I kind of love the idea!” she said, eyes sparkling with excitement.
“No, no, Aquarina. Not now, okay?” I sighed.
“Ah, yeah, of course… but later?” she asked hopefully. “In a few years?”
“Maybe in a decade,” I said firmly. “We need to finish training, graduate from the academy, find stable lives… Then we can even think about it.”
“Right… sorry, I got carried away,” Aquarina giggled sheepishly. “How would I look with a big belly?”
“Y-You?” I blinked in surprise. “I thought you’d want me to…”
“Hm? It doesn’t matter who carries it, right?” she smiled tenderly. “As long as we have a child… someone to leave behind. Someone to keep you company in your long life when I’m gone…”
“A-Aquarina…” My heart tightened. “Don’t say that…”
“I’m not sad about it,” she reassured gently. “It’s just a thought. You’ll live so much longer than me. A child of ours would be half-elf, carrying my blood too… That way, a piece of me would always stay with you.”
“…Geez, that’s sweet, but also a little heartbreaking,” I said, pulling her close for a kiss. “Live in the present, okay? Don’t dwell on that. Who knows? I might find a way to extend your lifespan.”
“Yeah, the future’s unknown. We’re too young for these worries… sorry,” Aquarina laughed softly. “Being stuck in the desert with nothing but sand made me think too much…”
“I get it,” I nodded. “All that snow around here did the same to me… Anyway, good morning… or good evening?”
“Ah, Sylphy, finally awake?” Dad chuckled. “Looks like you two got plenty of exercise last night.”
