Chapter 1989: A New Way To Expand The Dungeon
—–
I celebrated, raising my arms in triumph as I touched the core and felt my own power flowing through it. I glanced at everyone, their expressions were a mix of shock, awe, and disbelief, but the overwhelming reaction was wide-eyed astonishment.
I could sense my authority instantly taking hold over the entire dungeon, as though a fragment of my soul had spread through every corner. Wow, and with it came an incredible surge of power.
Divine Energy poured into my soul and raced through my body and spirit simultaneously. The sensation was simply breathtaking in every sense of the word.
My divinities began to rise, absorbing the divine power and growing stronger at an astonishing pace.
If I could keep claiming more dungeons and stealing them from that bastard, wouldn’t that effectively make me the new goddess of dungeons?!
And that wasn’t all.
FLUOSH!
Wooden roots burst from the dungeon floor. A colossal tree erupted into existence, wrapping protectively around the core with its branches.
The wood shimmered with icy blue light, cold as frost. Leaves of glittering ice crystals sprouted, and blue apples, each one sparkling like a diamond, hung from the boughs. Yggdra’s divine presence radiated powerfully from within the tree.
“Sylphy! I’m in!” she announced. “I’ve made this core part of my body! Now we can connect to the dungeon easily whenever we want.”
“Perfect!” I cheered. “Oh?”
Ding!
[Congratulations, you have done the impossible! You have successfully refined the Dungeon Core of the Glacial Caves Dungeon and made the Dungeon your own.]
[You have officially become the new God and Authority of the Dungeon, taking it from the previous owner.]
[Additionally, your Dungeon has created a new Floor including the Glacial Caves Dungeon and adding it to its repertoire.]
[The Floor will be connected to your Dungeon, and you will be able to access it at any time and bring whoever you want, but inhabitants of your Dungeon cannot enter it on their own unless granted special permissions.]
[You can now manage the Sub-Dungeon Floor, {Glacial Caves Dungeon}!]
[Do you wish to expand it? To add new monsters? To make it larger and more durable? You can use Dungeon Points for all of that.]
As a Dungeon that exists outside of your Original Dungeon, EXP earned from defeating monsters here can be saved.
“Oh! An EXP grinding spot! Nice! But… it’s also not ideal—the dwarves rely on this place, right? I can’t just abuse it or I’d ruin their economy.”
“Yeah,” Yggdra agreed. “It would be better to hold off on that idea for now. Simply owning it is already an enormous advantage.”
“Well, why not expand it a little?” Armageddon suggested. “It shouldn’t cost much. Make yourself a private area where you can grind freely.”
“Huh! I didn’t think of that,” I nodded. “Okay, how do we do it?”
“With my help, it should be simple,” Alice said.
“And mine!” Yggdra added.
Both materialized in their full, imposing forms and guided my divine avatar, which overlooked everything like a living board game.
Essentially, all I had to do was will it. With a gesture of my divine hand, the dungeon expanded, doubling in size. A hidden wall formed, creating a secret chamber around the core.
Once I infused it with pure Mana, and thanks to my endless reserves, monsters began spawning at maximum capacity. Hundreds appeared in mere seconds.
Three new bosses also manifested, all Rank 9: a Winter Werewolf King, a Frost Forest Treant King, and a Spectral Frozen Queen.
Unlike the monsters in my original dungeon, these ones attacked me on sight. They didn’t recognize me as their master, or rather, they lacked the intelligence to do so… I wasn’t sure.
“Why don’t they recognize me as master?” I asked.
“Because their master is your divine form,” Yggdra explained. “What you’re using now is your mortal vessel. Such a form isn’t suited to being a dungeon master, so they see you as an enemy. That means you can hunt them freely for EXP and more.”
“Huh! That sounds perfect,” I said with a grin. “So now I can finally grind EXP on easy mode… Heheh.”
“Yeah, but keeping the monsters spawning will cost a daily amount of Dungeon Points,” Alice warned. “Once those run out, it starts consuming your EXP instead.”
“Ah, don’t worry—my main dungeon generates plenty of Dungeon Points daily!” I said happily. “I think we can find some balance. At least I’m going to try. The dwarves keep their half, and I’ll have mine.”
“Their half is significantly weaker now that the curse is gone, but yours is much stronger. How odd,” Furoh remarked. “Is it your influence?”
“Maybe,” I said. “Whatever the case, it’s good. I wonder if we should… yeah, let’s do a quick run.”
“A quick run?” Yggdra asked, confused.
“Nephilim, Armageddon, Scarlet, Sapphire, and Erebus—go wild!” I commanded.
They exchanged glances, nodded, and charged into the dungeon. In less than half an hour, they slaughtered hundreds of monsters and defeated all three bosses!
BOOOM! CLAAASH! RUMBLE! CRAAASH! BOOOM!
The new bosses were weaker than the corrupted Tier 9: Rank 1 versions, so they fell quickly. I even took on the Winter Werewolf King myself, wrestling it in a brutal, exhilarating brawl. It was fun—and then it died. Whew… it made me realize just how strong I’d become.
“It’s done!”
Ding!
[You and your Familiars have slain the Dungeon Bosses and have slaughtered over a thousand Tier 7 to 9 Monsters!]
[You have earned +39.000.000 EXP]
[Current [EXP]: [545.500.000/%4g3#]
The EXP I personally gained was surprisingly small, which made me curious.
“The EXP you earn is recycled back into dungeon maintenance,” Alice explained. “Don’t worry—the portion shared with those who can level up remains unaffected. So…”
[Your Contracted Spirit: [Beelzebub] Level has increased from Level 77 to Level 78/80.]
[Your Contracted Spirit: [Brownie] Level has increased from Level 73 to Level 75/80.]
[Your Contracted Spirit: [Yggdra] Level has increased from Level 78 to Level 80/80.]
[Your Contracted Spirit: [Naturia] Level has increased from Level 77 to Level 78/80.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Furoh] Level has increased from Level 76 to Level 77/80.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Glutton] Level has increased from Level 71 to Level 73/80.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Scarlet] Level has increased from Level 30 to Level 35/400.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Sapphire] Level has increased from Level 30 to Level 35/400.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Violet] Level has increased from Level 73 to Level 75/80.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Nephilim] Level has increased from Level 36 to Level 40/300.]
[Your Contracted Familiar: [Red] Level has increased from Level 33 to Level 38/80.]
[Your Familiar [Yggdra] has reached Max Level and can now Evolve and Rank Up!]
And it looked like Yggdra had finally hit max level—she could evolve now!
