Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System - Chapter 659 - 659: A king’s role (part 21)

“No way I’m letting you destroy my battle avatar anymore!”, seeing the white line spreading through his battle avatar, the Balax Lord transformed the left arm of his battle avatar into that concentrated stream of battle aura, to then channel it into the chest and abdomen of his battle avatar.
“Hssssss!”, sizzling sounds were produced as Jasmine’s light nether which had seeped into the enemy’s battle avatar, through the wound produced by her attack, clashed against Byron’s innate ability which was trying to keep it from breaking apart.
“Royal Radiant Step”, unfortunately for the Balax Lord, the light princess had anticipated his move, and so the very moment she finished releasing her spell, she had already turned into a white star that had shot itself towards Byron.
The world seemed to slow down for the Balax Lord, his pupils contracted as he saw Jasmine appear in front of his battle avatar, she was holding onto the heavenly spear with both of her hands.
The light princess didn’t even have the time to cast another attack, so instead she used the impulse generated by her movement spell, combined with the solid white crystal layer with which she had managed to clad both the paladin armor and her weapon, in this case the heavenly spear, one last time, to then thrust her spear at the chest of Byron’s battle avatar.
“Crack!”, the sound of something shattering came first as both the white crystal layer and the external armor of the battle avatar, exploded upon contact.
“Boooom!”, what followed was a huge shockwave which echoed through the sky, as Jasmine’s spear finished the job of her slash from earlier, tearing off the upper half of Byron’s battle avatar due to the huge impact that the thrust of her spear carried.
That being said, while the upper half of his battle avatar was being blasted into the distance and before it crumbled apart, Byron slashed the giant battle aura manifested version of his sword at the light princess who had charged into the sea of battle aura which had been released when his battle avatar was forcefully broken in half.
“Humph!”, however, with a soft snort from a certain sword girl, Gram which was out of the picture at Jasmine’s petition, came flying like a comet, colliding against the giant battle aura condensed sword, directly crushing it head on.
‘Daimon said no external means were allowed’, she said with a voice that only Jasmine could hear.
And before Byron could process the fact that a voice could be heard coming from the great sword which Jasmine was using, meaning that its quality was far ahead when compared to his own sword, since though he had given it a sense of awareness through refining, the consciousness of his sword couldn’t speak, Gram had cut the Balax Lord’s right arm, and dragged Byron’s sword into the sky.
“Wha… aghhhh!”, it happened so fast that the Balax Lord felt the pain after his sword had been dragged away by Gram.
‘I’ll take care of this thing, destroy him, Jas!’, fiercely said Narasha as she burned half of Byron’s severed arm, before it could be completely absorbed by his sword to then clash against it, turning into a cloud of white flames and dark blood red mist.
“Booooom!”, the light princess gratefully gazed at Nasha who stopped Byron’s plan of sacrificing his arm to trigger the special ability of his sword in order to kill her on the spot, she even said it was on behalf of the rule Daimon had set, which was a lie.
Well, Byron indeed tried to play a little trick, because there was an insane amount of nether stored inside his sword beforehand, but technically it was also Byron’s innate ability what was needed to trigger it, so it was a fifty-fifty, meaning that Narasha intervened to help her new friend, just a little bit, something Daimon found rather cute, she didn’t want to break the rules he set, but she also wanted to help her friend.
After thanking Narasha with her eyes, the light princess turned to see her enemy again, she hadn’t stopped her charge earlier, and so Jasmine had reached Byron who was sent flying alongside the upper half of his battle avatar before the thing crumbled.
Jasmine who finally had a clean opening, clenched her pretty right hand, forming a fist with which she punched the Balax Lord… on the face.
Given how much nether she had used, it was impossible for Jasmine to fully clad herself in the white crystal like before, but covering her fist with it was perfectly within her possibilities, and even if it wasn’t, the light princess would have made it possible however she could, because she really wanted to punch Byron.
“Crack!”, the white crystal layer collapsed on the spot, but it fulfilled its purpose, that little delicate looking hand, made blood spurt out of Byron’s mouth, alongside a couple of teeth.
“Blegh!”, and followed by that, the Balax Lord was smacked against the ground due to the impact behind Jasmine’s punch.
“That was for mom…”, mumbled the light princess, blood dripped from her hand out of the paladin armor, which was unable to completely protect her from the recoil, resulting in a few scratches appearing on her knuckles and a couple of her nails cracking, however the satisfied smile on her pretty face, made it clear that she was perfectly fine with this result.
Naturally, Jasmine immediately charged at Byron, she wasn’t planning on giving him a second of rest, as she planned to beat him to a pulp, but we must put a little pause to this scene and make two little stops before continuing.
Back to when the white crystal armor covering Jasmine’s heavenly paladin armor started cracking, at the battlefield on the right side of the throne room, a crimson star clashed against a black ominous stream, resulting in a thunderous explosion, followed by two figures charging at each other as soon as it was possible.
They were, of course the nelapsi girl Reyne, and the Bane Lord, Aslan who were savagely colliding, trying to tear the other apart, which was expected from Reyne as she is an attack type knight, Aslan on the other hand, was doing the complete opposite of what a necromancer like him would normally do, by clashing head on against her.
“Clang!”, sparks flew as Reyne’s battle aura cladded fist collided against Aslan’s one which had the phantom armor protecting it, resulting in the two of them being forced in opposite directions.
Reyne who forcefully stopped her retreat by releasing battle aura, closed and opened her hand a couple of times, there was a numbing sensation invading it, which made the nelapsi girl frown.
Unlike the elite undead and elite corps in which Aslan seemed to have the most confidence at the moment of countering her, the pieces of the phantom armor weren’t made with corpses whose affinities were water related.
Instead, they radiated a sensation similar to that of the spiked armored elite shredder, in other words they were created using metal affinity corpses, which normally would mean they aren’t a particularly strong match against a fire affinity knight like Reyne, under normal circumstances at least.
“It’s imperfect, but it’s a metal which was refined to have a high temperature and impact resistance, this seems strangely too well prepared considering you pieces of trash didn’t know I was alive, so this should have been prepared for someone else”, said the nelapsi girl, which made Aslan’s eyes tremble for a second, as if he was reminded of something traumatizing.
However, the Bane Lord wasn’t interested in answering Reyne, what’s more, after the previous, his expression became incredibly fierce.
“How dare you!!!”, Aslan’s eyes became bloodshot, here he was resorting to sacrificing a part of his focus permanently, which means that after this the number of undead he’ll be able to control, will be lower than his peers.
All in exchange for the ability to add a portion of the physical strength that the corpses used to make the phantom armor had when they were alive for a certain period of time which is what was allowing him to suppress Reyne.
The previous might not sound that impressive, considering it brings a permanent loss, however, it basically gave Aslan the power of a knight while being a mage that doesn’t even outstand in wide area energy attacks like Reed, but at swarming his enemies, as he is a necromancer, so it’s a huge advantage worthy of being preserved as a trump card for emergencies.
“Royal Black Death Eternal Prison!”, since Aslan had all his concentration focused in the phantom armor, he couldn’t control any other undead, but nothing prevented him from using other spells, like the previous one, which resulted in black spiked bone pillars emerging from the ground around Reyne, to then create branches of the same materials, in every direction.
“Booom!”, as if a fierce wild beast was being contained inside the black bone prison, the whole thing violently shook and cracks started appearing all over the black bone walls, that was of course Reyne who was destroying the prison from the inside.
“Royal Black Death Eternal Prison!”, with a second cast, another prison materialized around the first one, successfully trapping the nelapsi girl, however Aslan’s happiness was short-lived, though the second prison didn’t show any signs of cracking, there was some slight trembling coming from inside of it, which made it obvious that it wasn’t going to hold out for too long either.
‘Damn monstrous bitch!’, Aslan who went to such lengths in order to buy time to gather nether for a barrage of high impact attacks, had no choice but to rush towards the black bone prison, which was about to crumble, his black bone spear exploded in death nether as he descended from the sky at high speed.
“Fine, get squashed to death alongside the prison, Royal Black Death Meteor Fall!”, as a mage and more important a necromancer, Aslan didn’t have much talent for close combat spells, but he still invested a lot of time to add and master a few ones to his repertory, for the sake of a situation like this.
With the black bone spear in his hand, the Bane Lord descended at an insane speed upon the black bone prison, normally the impact would be fatal for him as he is not a knight, but since he had the phantom armor, Aslan disregarded any risks, everything was for the sake of crushing Reyne before she broke out of his best restraining spell.
Unfortunately, a couple of meters before Aslan reached his target, a crimson red glow bypassed the complete black bone walls, illuminating the nearby area, before the fierce voice of the nelapsi girl could be heard coming from the black bone prison.
“Royal Crimson Piercer!”, before the black meteor reached the black bone prison, the thing exploded releasing countless black shards in every direction, just in time for a crimson red stream to come out of the now destroyed bone prison, to clash head on with the black meteor the next second.
“Booooom!”, both attacks collided, bringing a thunderous energy explosion, followed by a huge shockwave, as Reyne’s lance met the black bone spear of the Bane Lord.
“What!”, Aslan nearly lost it when he saw that not only Reyne wasn’t instantly crushed, as she was supposed to, given that he had an advantageous position as he was descending from the sky, meaning he had gained a lot of impulse due to it.
And that wasn’t all, Reyne’s martial art had no space to advance before it was met with Aslans’ spell, so it didn’t even have the time to be fully released and yet, the nelapsi girl wasn’t being pushed back in the slightest.
Now imagine Aslan’s expression when after a second of stalemate, he started distancing himself from the ground, in other words he… was being pushed back by the enemy.
“I was wondering how to lure you into entering a long duration clash, and here you did the hard part for me”, mumbled Reyne, she isn’t particularly skilled in tricking others like her crazy older sister, so she was worried it was going to be a pain to trick Aslan.
But he took the initiative to clash with her by himself, so Reyne simply feigned to be unable to break out of the black bone prison after calculating the strength needed to make it tremble but not break, to then charge her crimson piercer instead, giving Aslan the wrong idea that she was wasting her battle aura trying to destroy the prison, long story short, the amount of battle aura she had injected into her martial art, was huge, it couldn’t be compared to the first time she used royal crimson piercer, as Aslan was about to learn.
“No…!”, the curse from the Bane Lord was interrupted by the sound of something shattering.
“Crack!”, that was the phantom armor covering the black bone spear, crumbling apart, followed by Reyne skillfully slapping away Aslan’s spear aside with her lance, to then manipulate the crimson flame stream to land on Aslan’s chest.
“Aghhhh!!!”, the Bane Lord instantly vomited blood, his spell was interrupted before he was dragged into the crimson flame stream which shot itself into the distance, leaving behind a Reyne who took a second to stabilize her breathing, as she had used too much battle aura and vitality in a single go.
In a rough calculation, that was a bit more energy than half of what Daimon uses to cast the Comet Sword, which is an amazing feat for the nelapsi girl, considering Daimon’s energy reserves are monstrously large.
What’s more, seeing her martial art reaching its limit, Reyne instantly turned into a crimson star that flashed towards where Aslan was about to land.
And now we are back to the previous scene at the middle of the throne room, where Jasmine had just smacked Byron against the ground and was about to beat him into a pulp now that he was down.
“Mm?”, the light princess whose body was radiating a blinding white light, suddenly frowned before she flashed to the side while condensing an improvised wall of light, covered by a layer of white crystal.
“Boooom!”, a dark blood red slashing light, came from below landing on Jasmine’s light wall, instantly destroying it alongside the white crystal layer, which then transferred itself to the paladin armor in a try to protect the light princess.
“Cough”, the impact made Jasmine feel as if she was hit by a hammer, the white crystal layer which protected her armor was destroyed on the spot, what’s more cracks appeared on the armor itself as a sign of her heavenly paladin spell being about to reach its limit.
“Humph!”, however, a sudden crimson star appeared out nowhere, turning into a certain nelapsi girl who swept her flaming crimson lance at the slash which was bothering her little sister.
“Booom!”, Reyne’s attack slapped the sword slash to the side, giving Jasmine the chance to get away from it, of course it came with a price, Reyne gave up on finishing Aslan who was coming out of her royal crimson piercer, to then be helped by a one-armed figure who had come from the ground.
“Can’t you even hold down your own damn enemy”, exclaimed Byron who helped Aslan stop his fall, the Bane Lord was gasping for air, the phantom armor on his chest and head had been destroyed.
Which meant that if he hadn’t been using it, Reyne’s attack would have blasted a large part of his upper body, in other words he would have died, and Byron interfering, saved the phantom armor protecting his arms which is what he was using to block the crimson flames after he took the initial impact of Reyne’s martial art.
“Shut up, you aren’t convincing with that missing arm!”, said Aslan as he saw the empty space where Byron’s right arm used to be, which made the Balax Lord snort, his body radiated a dark red light which was then condensed into an ethereal looking arm, which replaced the one he was missing.
There was also an ethereal version of his great sword which was being attacked by Gram as of current, being held by said arm.
The previous made Jasmine bit her lower lip, it was due to that arm that she was forced to retreat earlier, if that was Byron’s power then she wouldn’t feel frustrated but the Balax Lord had used a badge like the ones his subordinates had, to force his innate ability to activate once again, though in a much smaller scale.
“Damn it!”, Aslan cursed, he pierced his chest with his own hand, crushing one of his ribs in the process.
“Hssssss!”, sizzling sounds came from the Bane Lord’s body as the multiple burns he had suffered where covered by new flesh, thanks to this sudden surge of death nether, apparently his badge was inside his own body.
However, and before Reyne had the chance to express her discontent, a loud scream coming from the left side of the throne room, drew everyone’s attention.
“Aghhhh!”.
And luckily, this time we just need to come back a few seconds, to when a barrage of neon pink flames was suddenly blasted away by a sea of purple nether, which originated in Sarah who came out of the sea of neon pink flames completely unscathed, making Reed manifest another arrow on his bow.
Just for the crazy girl to giggle when the thing actually exploded, sending Reed flying into the distance, while he was engulfed by Sarah’s purple nether, what happened was that the crazy girl used the innate ability she stole from Reed, to make him release the arrow against himself.
How, simple, she projected the scene of herself being about to bash his skull with the white metal crossbow, an experience Reed absolutely didn’t want to go through again, resulting in him choosing to take “some” damage in order to get away from Sarah’s killing attack.
But of course, it was all an illusion, as the crazy girl was far away from Reed, resulting in the latter being blasted away by his own attack, and that was the origin of the scream heard by everyone a second ago.
And now we go back to the current scene where, Reed suddenly exploded in neon pink flames when he crushed a button of his shirt, that was his emergency badge, which helped him dispel Sarah’s battle aura to then reunite with the other two lords, just in time for the crazy girl to appear behind Reyne and Jasmine.
“Well, well, well, aren’t our opponents too keen on cheating”, she said while making sure to put emphasis in the latter part of her sentence, to then snap her fingers.
“Royal Purple Death Hell~”, with a cute voice that didn’t match the name of the technique she was about to use, the purple skull behind of Sarah roared and purple battle aura surged from Sarah’s body like a tsunami, engulfing the three lords as a whole the next second.
All this while the crazy girl turned to see Daimon to flutter her pretty long eyelashes at him, making the latter sigh to then say.
“I know they are trying to play some tricks, so let me…”, however before he could finish his sentence, Daimon was actually transported by the black sea emblem which came out of his pocket, to then appear behind those three.
Just in time for Sarah to cling onto Daimon’s right arm, making Daimon raise an eyebrow, not because she stuck to him like bubblegum, that was the usual at this point, but at the fact that the crazy girl somehow seemed to have threatened his black sea emblem to transport him near to them, by surprise after using some key word.
“What’s this all about?”, he asked to the crazy girl who was hiding her face behind his shoulder, with a “pitiful” expression.
“It’s just that my beloved king didn’t come to my rescue when I was being bullied by that guy~”, she said, which made Daimon inwardly shake his head.
“Nonsense, you could have cleaved that guy in half before he relied on the nether stored in that badge without that much of a problem”, casually said Daimon, which resulted in the crazy girl giggling while she stuck her tongue at Daimon.
“I knew you wouldn’t fall for that one, so I instead had to make those guys truly go against the “rules” for this, and since now they had relied in an external source of power, we can do the same, right?”, said Sarah with a genuinely expecting gaze.
Daimon felt a headache coming his way, when Sarah’s eyes had that pure glow in them, he couldn’t help but want to comply with her request, since it was so rare for her to be serious at something.
“Fine”, ultimately, against every fiber in his body, Daimon gave in to the scheme of the crazy girl, who giggled in return.
“You two come over here, don’t hesitate even my strongest wide area martial art can’t hold those three for more than a few seconds~”, playfully said the crazy girl to Jasmine and Reyne whose faces blushed on the spot.
That being said, not even a second later, Reyne was holding onto Daimon’s left arm, while Jasmine was shily resting her back against Daimon’s chest.
“And now, we just need to get some “love” from our beloved king~”, said Sarah, nearly making both of her sisters faint on the spot, while Daimon felt his blood pressure increasing, at least until Sarah added.
“With that I mean, some poison, blood and mana respectively of course~”.
