- Chapter 673 - 673: Unexpected results (part 1)

The previous made Daimon frown, not at Lyn, since hiding herself from those three’s watch when they are particularly paying attention to her movements, doesn’t sound like something easy, but at the fact that his instincts didn’t warn him of the Lord’s presences.
What’s more, the atmosphere of the Blood Prison realm didn’t show any changes as well, it was only the black blood specters that had appeared.
“I can’t feel those three rushing our way, are those strange black blood specters unable to communicate with them?”, he asked, to which Lyn shook her head in response.
“Ah that, no, they can’t especially look for me during day, projecting their gazes to the Blood Prison realm when it’s not night to do something more than a superficial search, would be like looking directly at the sun while sprinkling salt onto their eyes at the same time”.
“At most they can tell the number of people within the Blood Prison realm whose lineage they had locked onto before, like the members of the Northern Sea kingdom, they don’t even know where the vast majority of the survivors from back then, are sealed, it took them thousands of years of actively looking, to find where I was sealed after all”.
“They probably instilled the intent to kill into these corroded blood specters so that they would to their dirty job, I simply slipped up so they felt the aura from the Northern Sea coming from me”, she explained.
Lyn was only sorry because these completely corroded blood specters apparently had no use for anyone who isn’t a nethereal, since they won’t produce a red strand anymore, so dealing with them was both a waste of time and energy.
“Oh well, it was my fault so let me deal with them”, Lyn who was about to attack the black blood specters which had surrounded the group, was stopped by Daimon extending his arm in front of her.
“What, don’t waste your energy on them, they had long been corrupted by those three’s nether, so you won’t gain anything…”, Lyndis’s words stuck in her throat when she saw a stream of silver light pass through the bodies of five out of the ten early-stage Lord ranked black blood specters in a single go.
“Hsssssss!”, a sizzling sound was produced as black strands were forced out of the bodies of the black blood specters, the result was that the previously completely black blood specters, now had red translucent areas on their bodies.
That’s not all, their previously harmonious cooperation was gone, the remaining five blood specters which were completely corroded, directly jumped at them, no longer recognizing them as a part of their group.
But the surprises didn’t end there, with Daimon’s greenlight, the little tiger girl turned into a yellow flash that tackled the five black and red mixed blood specters, then a lightning tiger’s paw with its extended claws, cut right through them, killing the five on the spot.
Then to Lyn’s awe, once the bodies of those five blood specters faded, besides a single black thread appearing to then burn away the next second, red strands that looked different than the ones she has seen before, manifested and were then absorbed by Dana, who returned to Daimon’s side the next second.
“You have the capacity to purify the corrosion caused by nether influence, I thought you were just destroying it like we do, because that silver light appears to have a strong positive orientation… what the hell kind of lineage is that”, mumbled the sky-blue haired girl.
Back then, they suffered so many troubles because of the nether’s capacity to infect and corrode other races, though they were able to forcefully destroy the nether if it affected their soldiers, it wasn’t like what Lyn just witnessed.
Their method was like cutting up a large piece of flesh just to get rid of a rice sized affected area, while what she saw Daimon doing was vanguard computer guided laser surgery, as a proof of it, the black blood specters produced a red strand after dying.
“You seem to know more about the blood specters, than what I thought?”, said Daimon as he raised an eyebrow behind his mask.
“Well, they are basically the remains of the magic beasts that were used by the nethereals as cannon fodder, in fact the bones that work as anchors for the seals are also theirs, many of the mountains you see were created because a long time ago, a lot of nethereals raised from the core area of the Blood Prison realm, bringing those giant skelentons to the surface alongside them”.
“Of course, they only managed to do it with the help of those three guys, but the funny part is that they were used as sacrificial pawns, because the Megalodon general completely obliterated all the ones that tried to escape, in other words they were used by the Lords to tire him out”.
“Only their selected subordinates out of all the ones those three managed to help, remained, thanks to the black rain which formed the bodies of water where the seals are exposed to the surface as of current, don’t ask me what’s the relation between the beasts and the seal though, I don’t remember ever having killed a member of the race to which my seal was tied to after all”, she said as she shrugged.
That explained why the terrain was filled with mountains which had giant bones buried inside of them, and why despite said bones, there was no presence of nethereals there, they used to contain one seal but were killed by the Megalodon when they tried to escape in mass.
Lyn also said something interesting, the core of the Blood Prison realm, is where the vast majority of the sealed nethereals are kept imprisoned, which should be to where the portal that opened for Sarah and the enemy queen piece of back then, to choose their “pawns”, lead to.
“A tiger related lineage not bad, it’s not one I have seen or read about before, but I seem to remember that there is a Stellar Kingdom created by feline magic beast descendants somewhere at the east”, said Lyn, to then gaze at Daimon.
“I guess, I’ll have to raise the bar up when it comes to getting surprised from now and onwards, I have heard about some weirdos being able contain light and darkness related energies within their bodies at the same time, but someone who is both a knight and a mage at the same time… that’s a first for sure”, she said before changing her focus to the remaining blood specters.
They which were confused by the sudden appearance of enemies earlier, recovered their senses and turned to see their original target, in other words Lyn, just in time for a silver stream to pass through their bodies, purging a part of their corroded bodies, this time it was Lyn the one who took the task of eliminating them though.
In part because she could tell that the red strand produced by those blood specters, was different than the ones she is used to see and has absorbed before, and in part because she was itching for a fight since was released from her seal.
And for a good reason, which was explained the moment Daimon got to see what ability had her lineage granted her to use in the Blood Prison realm.
Lyn appeared above the group of black blood specters, she extended her right foot a bit frontwards to then descend from the air, landing in the middle of the enemies.
“Boooom!”, the result was that sky blue “rings” of energy were released when her foot landed on the ground, before everything in the vicinity was blasted away, an explosion of broken debris and pieces of three of the blood specters was sent flying into the air, but it didn’t end there.
She turned around to punch in the direction of the remaining two blood specters, releasing a few of those sky-blue energy rings in their direction, same that when making contact with the blood specters, resulted in their bodies exploding into smithereens, producing a loud thunder-like explosion.
Needless to say, but that was an incredibly violent fighting style, that being said Daimon could still see some relation to the way Mellie and Annete fought, because those sky-blue rings contained “vibrations”, the difference being that those two used them in a much more refined way.
The queen was especially skilled in reading the “rhythm” of the opponent’s mana or battle aura, to disrupt or interfere with them, thus sealing their capacities to use magic or martial arts, her fighting style is much more mage-like than her little sister, as her weapon which is a lyre, that works for long range battles, suggests.
Mellie on the other hand appears to focus a bit more in covering other aspects like using vibrations for physical aspects, which gives her the capacity to fight against knights head on, hence why her weapon is a though strange, incredibly versatile composition between a fiddle which works as a bow, and the bow of said fiddle which can be used as a sonic blade, making her both a close and middle range combatant.
Of course they can do both, but each sister specializes in one of the two previously mentioned aspects, the point is that both of them require a precise and refined usage of vibration mana.
In comparison, Lyn was just making everything around her explode from the inside by releasing those blue energy rings.
“Amazing right, it’s just an imitation on a lower scale but the principle is the same of my family’s “Explosive Echo” martial art”, proudly said Lyndis, to which Daimon limited to nod as he answered.
“Those two I mentioned also use vibrations, but they analyze and adapt to the “rhythm” of the opponents to counter them”.
“Hoh, that’s interesting, my Alabaster Horned Dolphin race does the exact contrary of that, we focus in our own “rhythm” and project it to the outside, so that anything that doesn’t go with it, can be reduced to rubble”, said Lyn.
“That sounds dangerous for both the target and the user”, mumbled the little tiger girl, which earned her a smile from Lyn.
“For normal members of my family yeah, which is why they normally focus in using attack type martial arts either only with their arms or their legs which are reinforced with battle aura before becoming magic knights, and get to use both after that, but I’m a princess and a Throne candidate, so I can use “Explosive Echo Physique”, instead of just “Explosive Echo Fist” or “Explosive Echo Step”, I appreciate the concern though~”, she said as she placed her hand on top of Dana’s head, gently stroking her tiger ears as a result of it.
Realizing her mistake only after she had committed it, Lyn retrieved her hand a second later, she is also a magic beast descendant and thus she knows that touching someone’s beast traits is something done only between those that are close to each other, even between family members not everyone allows it.
“Sorry, I did it out of reflex…”, said Lyn with an apologetic voice, luckily for her besides the slight surprise that having her ears touched all of a sudden brought Dana, she wasn’t too bothered by it.
“No problem, there was no harm done”, said the little tiger girl, she didn’t dislike the feeling transmitted by Lyn’s head pat, for a good reason, if she did it out of reflex that must mean she is used to deal with younger children, probably her relatives so she felt like an older sister for a second there.
“Ahem, let’s continue our way, since the black blood beasts aren’t directly communicating with the Lords during day there shouldn’t be any problem in dealing with them, so you can rest every now and then, in fact this can work in our favor, these black blood specters seem to only appear when their targets are close, so if we see them, that means there is someone with the aura of the Northern Sea in them, not too far”, said Daimon to Lyn.
He could feel Aisha’s overall position all the time, but the same didn’t apply to Mellie or Arianna, and while only the former has a lineage that is related to the Northern Sea, the latter has a Sea Emblem linked to it according to Dana’s description, which should produce a similar result.
So that way, it should be easier to find those two, by letting the black blood beasts act as their guides.
“Mm”, with a slight nod, the three of them continued descending down the mountain, and to break the slightly uncomfortable atmosphere, Lyn decided to clear some doubts that had appeared in her mind earlier.
“You mentioned that you couldn’t feel those three bastards coming our way, but if I understand correctly, you haven’t even obtained the way to apply your lineage energy yet, right?”, she said, to which Daimon nodded in response.
“Yeah, I haven’t, but I had dealt with nethereals before entering the Blood Prison realm and developed a way to detect them by instinct, in fact there was hostility for them instilled in the Black Armored Shark lineage which I originally obtained, probably the Megalodon general’s doing and I’m especially able to detect those three’s nether, because I have clashed energies with “them” in person a few days ago”, he said.
Of course, that made Lyn end up even more confused than before.
“Wait a second, I know that unlike the mass jailbreak try of back then which ended in complete annihilation, some nethereals had managed to slip out of their seals here and there, specially recently, but those three haven’t been able to project their power outside of the Blood Prison realm, since that time when they suffered backslash, and it’s been months since that happened?”, she said
Which reminded Daimon that he hadn’t told her about the other “selves” of the Lords which lived outside of the Blood Prison realm.
“The empty bodies of those three weren’t sealed here, probably a measure taken by the Megalodon general to prevent having both parts in the same place, but their empty husks ended up developing a consciousness of their own, and that set of Lords has been active since a long time ago, way before my group arrived at Neptune”.
At this point, Lyn had already guessed that Daimon isn’t a native of Neptune, it’s not anything special for someone that lives in a Stellar Kingdom, to see people from other Stellar Charts visit them, so that didn’t surprise the alabaster dolphin princess.
That being said, another set of Lords being mentioned, almost made her slip like before again, luckily, she was not going to commit the same mistake, so her aura didn’t leak and the black blood specters didn’t come their way this time.
“That’s… interesting, I guess that something like that is possible considering their original realms, which were only one major realm away from the peak, with the exception of Byron that had taken a step into it, still if that was the case then how come they hadn’t invaded this place yet, my guess is that the seal tied to their bodies was way weaker than the one that kept their original selves here, so they must have gathered an army like before”, she said.
And she was right, the bodies of some of their subordinates ended in the same place as them, Agrak was there too, tough in a separate area, and with Aslan’s necromancy and Reed’s mind spells, they created races to serve them using their dead subordinates as the base materials.
Then used them to gather nether with which they worked to release their most shallowly sealed subordinates by making holes in the rules of the challenges, unfortunately they didn’t have it as easy as they expected.
“They tried, but other things happened in Neptune after your war, so they aren’t the only force that was acting in the shadows, not to mention that the subordinates they managed to release all lost their memories and bodies, they were using vessels created by recycling corpses of people that they either kidnapped or ended up stranded where they were trapped”.
“Ugh, to think that such a faraway place would end up becoming such a headache, sure the time back at the Northern Sea Stellar Kingdom flows way slower than here, but it must have been at least a few years since we left, and now there are other guys who can give troubles to the Lords involved in the picture, what a hassle”, exclaimed Lyn.
Sure, Neptune had become a tangled mess, due to the interference of the Nethereals, the Northen Sea back then, and two batches of system users in more recent dates, speaking of which, Daimon decided to try luck solving his own doubt.
“Does the term “Arcanist” mean something for your Stellar Kingdom, it’s something I have heard very few nethereals among which the Lord’s other halves, mention when I did something that can be seen as uncommon, like using both light and darkness at the same time?”, he asked, to which Lyn shook her head in response.
“Nope, there are mentions about people who are capable of doing what’s impossible to others, in the records of the Northern Sea Stellar Kingdom, the public often think they are just a legend or exaggeration used by commoners and royals to exalt their geniuses, but my family is the guardian of the royal library, so I know that there are records regarding the subject which are reserved only for Thrones to see, under a big warning of “potential calamity” if known by anyone outside that level”.
“So maybe that’s just the term that they use to refer to those people, wait, don’t tell me that you…”, Lyn’s explanation stopped midway as the “capable of doing what’s impossible to others” part of her sentence, and the fact that Daimon affirmed to be able to wield both darkness and light, not to mention that he says he is both a mage and a knight and her doubts were confirmed a second later by Daimon saying.
“Yeah, I’m one of “those” kinds of people, but so are another two of the enemies we are dealing with, and one of them has worked with the Lords, both the original ones and their other halves before, yet after seeing certain actions from me, they became extremely hostile and wary while mentioning the word “Arcanist” as if it was something they never wanted to see in their lifetime”.
Lyn was lost in her thoughts for a second, her curiosity about Daimon just shot through the sky, as the princess of the royal clan in charge of the royal library of the Northern Sea, she had access to a vast sea of records and information, with very few exceptions, one of them being the one about those miraculous yet dangerous people and now she had one, running next to her.
“Ahem, is the potential calamity part true then?”, she asked, as that’s what she wanted to confirm the most, and she was met with a “more or less”.
“It depends, there are certain tricks that can be used to diminish the impact on others and there are also levels of affectation, I’m on the higher end which is why I can’t even mention specific words, nor reveal most information about it, unlike those other two”, said Daimon, to which Lyn nodded with sparkling eyes.
“It’s good that you are one of “us”, I guess we have to thank Pheli for it~”, she jokingly said, making Daimon remember how Ophelia wasn’t exactly welcoming of him back when they met, curiously something similar happened with Joana as well.
‘The existence of system users might be more out in the open at the level of Stellar kingdoms, but they are not exactly seen in a good light… not that I blame other people since they tend to cause troubles everywhere they go’, he thought.
Before Lyn could bombard Daimon with questions, they had reached the foot of the mountain they saw from afar before, in less than an hour, so based on Lyn’s calculations, they would be able to see where had those guys that offered to free her, would be going if they climbed to its peak.
But their attention was drawn towards large black figures which just emerged from said peak, a second after they had arrived, which made both Daimon and Dana look in Lyn’s direction, because those were black blood specters.
“What, it wasn’t me this time, and it shouldn’t be anyone from the Northern Sea either, because the closest one that is sealed in the area it’s still a few hours away from here”, she said.
“You would have probably felt something if it was Mellie or that other girl met by Dana, so that leaves a possibility of… Arianna and her sea emblem being near the other side of the mountain”, concluded Daimon.
