“Agh!”, Rendon who originally was using his domain to block the expansion of Lyn’s shockwave suddenly felt a piercing pain invading his body, which made his scalp go numb for a second before he immediately retrieved his domain by flashing away from Lyn’s vicinity.

“What is…”, once Rendon had gotten away his sight blurred for a second which made him touch the corner of his eyes, just to see… blood, there was blood on the tips of his fingers, which in other words meant that there was blood coming from his eyes.

‘No way, she might have blasted a hole in my domain but I was far from the shockwave and it didn’t hit me directly, so why am I hurt!’, inwardly screamed Rendon, to which the alabaster dolphin princess who was just coming out of the huge explosion she caused a moment ago, casually said.

“Tsk, I know that this energy is not capable of properly replicating my affinity, but to think that you still have eyes after being close to the shockwave of “true earth shattering seal”, or perhaps your defense increased that much by combining ice with earth affinity”, said Lyn.

She had finished analyzing Rendon’s “permafrost” affinity which is also called “grey ice”, as it was the trait of the Grey Icelock turtle race which she mentioned before, basically it’s a combination of earth and ice, to give the heavy impact property of earth to the ice affinity in question while also adding some of earth’s sturdiness to the already solid ice.

As you can imagine it’s ice element enhanced in a way so that it could better withstand, Lyn family’s vibration affinity, speaking of which after confirming that his domain was fine and that unlike what happened with the snake, he had resisted Lyn’s energy capacity to mess up with its surroundings, Rendon took a breath of relief.

‘My permafrost reduces external interference to the minimum, I don’t know how the hell did she do that but the dangerous feeling is gone, so I just have to prevent her from using that technique again!’, thought Rendon as black mana and grey nether poured out of his body, combining with the domain which was missing a third part of its volume.

The black and grey frozen hell covered the vicinity and once again, freezing snow drops fell from the sky, attacking the alabaster dolphin princess every second, of course the resonation armor blocked them with its ripples replacing a layer every time one was frozen, but Rendon didn’t expect just the permanent attack type spell activated through his domain to do more than annoying the enemy.

“Pride Permafrost Piercing Battle Spear”, Rendon extended his left arm to the side and a mass of grey nether and black mana condensed into a spear which he grabbed with his hand, this one looked more than thrice stronger than the previous spear spell he had used before.

“Pride Frozen Hell Step!”, nether gathered around Rendon’s legs before he disappeared from plain sight, that being said Lyn didn’t lose track of him, as her eyes looking in different directions all over the enemy’s domain, suggested.

“Clang!”, Rendon wasn’t trying to ambush Lyn, he knew that such tactics didn’t work, so he didn’t move all over the place to try and confuse the alabaster dolphin princess, what he wanted was to gain momentum to enhance the impact of his attack, which resulted in the spear freezing and piercing through five frozen layers of the resonating armor in a single go.

Alongside the sound of metals colliding, Rendon extended his free right hand and a second mass of mana and nether gathered to then take the form of a weapon, it was a hammer this time though.

“Pride Permafrost Crushing Battle Hammer!”, it was a familiar sight, a spear and a hammer, which is what the snake tried to use to fight with Lyn, though this was a close combat version instead of just area of effect attacks.

Also, the idea behind of it was different, Rendon smacked the hammer against the back end of the spear, forcing it to further advance past the fifth layer of the resonating armor where the spear was stuck.

“Crack!”, that was the sound of both the resonating armor and the ice spear breaking due to the previous attack.

“True Explosive Echo Fist”, in response, the alabaster dolphin princess thrusted her fist alongside her technique, shooting a though narrow sized, heavily concentrated shockwave frontwards.

We have already seen what that did to the snake, blasting a hole through his triple layered defense spells, his body and the domain behind of him in a single go.

“Pride Permafrost Frostbite Battle Fist!”, surprisingly Rendon answered in kind with a punch of his own, apparently the “Pride Permafrost” version of his spell was created to deal with Lyn’s focus target techniques.

“Hssssss!”, the mass of ice mana and nether exploded and expanded upon contact with Lyn’s shockwave, encompassing it in ice, resulting in the creation of a hundred-meter ice pillar which extended horizontally, Lyn’s technique still advanced but unlike before it couldn’t reach the border of Rendon’s domain as its impact was suffocated by Rendon’s ice.

“No more “immutable black ice” huh”, disdainfully said the alabaster dolphin princess to which Rendon coldly snorted as he slashed the ice spear at the frozen pilar.

“Boooom!”, alongside the ice pillar exploding, those to flashed from their previous spots, appearing in a random spot of the battlefield to then exchange attacks once again.

After two continuous explosions, Rendon found himself blocked by the resonating armor, so now he knew that after forcefully destroying it with the battle spear and battle hammer, he had three shots at trying to land a proper hit on the enemy, that’s not so hard for him, the problem is that he had to prevent Lyn from gathering enough energy to use earth shattering seal at the same time, but it’s not like he had no way to solve this.

“Pride Permafrost Battle Slave!”, black mana and grey nether gathered from all over the domain to then freeze as it took the shape of a… snake, which was chained by its neck to Rendon’s domain.

This spell used by Rendon is a remnant of what made the grey icelock turtle race be erased from the records of the Northern Sea kingdom, what Rendon did is just create an ice puppet of some sort, he just gave it the form of the snake to insult his memory.

However, the members of the grey icelock turtle race, actually refined living beings into frozen corpses for their use, devouring their vitality in the process so that they could use that life-saving royal ability of theirs, what’s more, their victim was used as a meat shield even after its death.

And in case you wonder how was this going to help Rendon, the snake’s fangs were similar in built to the battle ice spear, so when the thing bit on the resonating armor, it pierced through many layers in a single go, then Rendon with a cold expression smacked the head of the snake from behind.

“Crack!”, that was both the sound of the ice snake head’s as well as the resonating armor being destroyed, just in time for Rendon to attack with the spear at the same time.

With a “swoosh”, the spear’s blade passed a few centimeters away from Lyn, leaving behind grey cold mist which then expanded as it froze wherever it passed, some of the ice grew on Lyn’s shoulder but it shattered the next second, before the alabaster dolphin princess stomped her right foot on the ground.

“True Seismic Step”, the blue energy ring around Lyn’s right ankle descended alongside her foot, making everything around the alabaster dolphin princess to be blasted away, however Rendon had no intention of retreating this time.

“Crack!”, the body of the ice snake which still remained after the head was sacrificed to destroy the resonating armor was thrown in between Rendon and the shockwave, blocking it for a second, which was enough for Rendon to cast his spell.

“Pride Permafrost Piercing Battle Wave!”, the expanding shockwave was met head on with a grey and black ice wave of nether and mana which frost it to then produce countless ice spikes that while exploding due to the impact of the shockwave still advanced towards their target in other words, Lyn.

Rendon who passed through the ongoing clash of energies, appeared in front of Lyn to then thrust the ice spear towards her.

“Clang!”, the tip of the spear was stopped by Lyn’s bare fist, resulting in the spear shattering while the alabaster dolphin princess jumped back a couple of meters, to then shake her hand in order to get rid of the ice that was trying to cover her arm.

Unlike what one would expect, Rendon didn’t continue his assault, he instead flashed away on the spot, taking his domain alongside him.

“True Earth Shattering Seal”, the giant explosion which even shook the clouds above while creating a perfectly inverted dome-shaped dent in the ground, repeated itself.

This time Rendon had avoided the impact completely, but just as a smile was about to appear in his mouth, he coughed to then see blood coming out of the corner of his mouth.

‘Damn it, why!’, he cursed to his insides, this time he avoided the explosion like the plague and even his domain wasn’t touched by it, so he didn’t understand why he still suffered damage.

He on the other hand barely managed to freeze Lyn’s hand and shoulder but his ice was destroyed before it could do any damage.

‘I wanted to save this in case she crossed to the Arch rank out of nowhere, but I can’t afford to waste more time’, he thought to then shout.

“Pride Permafrost Seal!”, a grey frozen mountain emblem appeared behind of Rendon and then his domain contracted before being absorbed by him, next his body lit up in grey cold mist.

“Hssssssss!”, the surroundings frost on the spot as Rendon’s realm shot up to the peak of the Arch rank.

“If only that snake bastard didn’t try anything funny, I would have outright reached the Star Lord realm once we both were at the peak of the Arch rank, oh well, this should be enough for the time being”, he said as he pointed his hand towards Lyn, who was suddenly encased in a giant block of grey ice, there was no spell chanting or anything, grey ice simply appeared out of thin air around her.

“Crack!”, the block of ice trembled for a second before the alabaster dolphin princess broke out of it, the resonating armor was back in service so she was perfectly fine.

That being said, Rendon directly charged at Lyn appearing in front of her the next second to then thrust the ice spear which was then cladded in cold grey mist.

“Boooom!”, the ice spear outright froze and destroyed the resonation armor in a single go, even then the ice spear reached Lyn who blocked it with her right fist.

“Clang!”, Lyn’s fist clashed against the spear and the alabaster dolphin princess… pushed back into the distance, also grey ice covered all the way to her shoulder on the spot, her shockwave was frozen before it could be shot frontwards.

“True Earth Shattering Seal”, like before the alabaster dolphin princess casted her technique without any prior “warning” as in she didn’t even take time to gather energy for it, however Rendon was ready this time, so he actually didn’t even put distance between himself and Lyn.

‘Get frozen to death you bitch!’, he thought as the grey cold mist surrounding his body raised high into the sky, equaling Lyn’s shockwave which dispersed even the clouds high above her.

“Pride Permafrost Eternal Hell Snowstorm!”, the expanding explosion caused by Lyn’s technique was engulfed by the grey cold mist and this time the invisible pillar created by the shockwave became “visible” as it was frozen by Rendon’s spell, an ongoing turbulence of grey cold mist surrounded it, continuously reinforcing the ice.

Cracks appeared all over the ice pillar but Rendon’s expression didn’t waver, because the snowstorm repaired and reinforced the ice pillar, making it wider with each second.

“You were curious about the spells derived from the grey icelock turtle race right, well, this one claimed the life of many of those damn ancestors of yours, fight as much as you want, the snowstorm will continue until you die”, said Rendon.

This spell had the word “eternal” for a reason, he basically used his whole domain for this single spell, he has seen Lyn blasting away a part of it, but unless she could completely destroy it in a single go, the enemy was as good as death, it was a spell designed to kill the members of the alabaster dolphin race using the area in which the grey icelock turtle race outstood the most, endurance.

Lyn’s family has a really high attack power, however they had to reinforce themselves to avoid taking damage due to it, so, long exhausting battles are their worst enemy.

“Knowing about the past sure could be helpful, after all knowing your enemy is a key to victory, however just like how medicine can be poison, making your plans based in information from hundreds of thousands of years ago, it’s a bad idea”, the voice of the alabaster dolphin princess, interrupted Rendon’s time to enjoy his victory.

“Sky Shattering Crown”, with just a few words and the sound of snapping fingers, the giant ice pillar as well as the ongoing icestorm shattered on the spot.

“Bleegh!”, that wasn’t all, Rendon who immediately tried to cast the icestorm again, vomited blood on the spot.

“Now, five generations ago”, this time the alabaster dolphin princess didn’t do anything, besides saying the previous words of course, but the result was even more devastating than when she tapped her foot.

First and formal, a new blue energy ring appeared for Lyn, this one floated above the alabaster dolphin princess’s head, it would have looked like an angel’s halo, had the consequences of it appearing not being Rendon’s domain being blasted away as a whole in a single go.

‘How, my ice affinity became a variation exclusively developed to counter those damn shockwaves and I even reached the peak of the Arch rank, to then boost myself with Pride nether, how is she doing this!!!’, screamed the enemy to his insides.

“People like you always try to focus in external factors, believing that a higher realm, better talent or an advanced affinity will make you stronger, that’s why you are trash, training, train until your fists bleed and then train even more, that’s what you and that idiot Dian never understood, unlike Pheli or myself, you lacked the desperation to grow stronger, that’s all”, she said with a rare serious voice, to then return to her usual self.

“Well, it wouldn’t have mattered anyway, after all, let alone Dian, in a head on battle no one from our generation can hold a candle to me in a life death fight, except for Pheli of course”, added the alabaster dolphin princess which was the drop that broke the camel’s back.

“Bullshit, the princess from the Azure Galaxy Whale family is considered to have one of the greatest potentials in our stellar kingdom, but she is not the strongest among the Throne heirs!!!”, he shouted with an incensed voice, to which Lyn said.

“Let me tell you what’s the focus for the royals of my race since my mother’s generation, “ourselves” we directly make our rhythms clash with the enemy’s, therefore you can’t win against us with boosts, borrowed power or external assistance, so a higher realm, better talent or even an advanced affinity is useless unless it truly “belongs” to you”.

Of course, there is a limit to the previous, but considering how Lyn moped the floor with Rendon with a whole realm of difference, when he had a variant affinity as well as a secondary energy, and all, said limit should be quite high.

That is a terrifying ability, just think about it, within her range of age, besides actual geniuses no one within Lyn’s range of age/realm can even have a chance to defeat her.

“Permafrost Eternal Life Seal!!!”, as if his life depended on it, since that was actually the case, Rendon used his last resort and his body was covered in black ice until he turned into a large black ice sphere that then tried to rush into the distance.

Until Lyn snapped her fingers and blue energy rings trapped the ice sphere, making it stop in cold, if they touched it the rings would detonate.

“I’m not good with interrogations, since I end up killing the enemy by mistake, so I was planning to ask someone to help me with it, still, you better pray that my challenge is counted as cleared because if not…”, just as Lyn was threatening Rendon who had sealed himself in ice in order to not be interrogated, a giant blue energy ring appeared above her.

“Crack!”, the ground below Lyn crumbled on the spot, as a huge pressure rained from above.

“Finally…”, mumbled the alabaster dolphin princess as she raised high into the sky, to then clash against that giant energy ring.

“Booooom!”, a thunder-like explosion echoed through the sky, as Lyn received her reward for clearing her challenge.
