Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1559 1559: Gnomes

“Traitor?” I couldn’t help asking with a confused look on my face.
But I couldn’t help looking at the representatives of the other races that were sitting in front of me.
After all, these were the only representatives of the other races that had agreed to the alliance in the first place. So if there was a traitor, then it would have come from one of their races.
However, since they were all sitting in front of me like this, it meant that this traitor didn’t come from one of their races.
If that was the case, did that mean that it was a traitor from the human race…
If it was a traitor from the human race, then things would be much more complicated than this…
The more that I thought about it, the more confused I became since I just couldn’t understand what they meant by this.
But they didn’t say anything after this as if they were hesitating over something. It was as if they wanted to say something, but they just didn’t know how to say it.
In the end, the Dwarven King said, “It’s like this…We have a trade agreement with the gnomes, so we contact them from time to time. We took advantage of the time of our trade to tell them about the forces of Destruction since they’re normally isolated. Only this time…”
Seeing the way that he suddenly frowned, I could already guess what happened.
Only I had to ask, “Are you certain of this? What if they’re being attacked by the forces of Destruction instead?”
The Dwarven King shook his head before saying with a heavy sigh, “When we sent our people to trade with them, the only thing that met them were the strange creatures that you described before. It seems that the forces of Destruction have completely taken over the lands of the gnomes.”
I couldn’t help deeply knitting my brows when I heard this.
The gnomes were one of the important races in this world when this world was still a game.
While dwarves were known for their forging, gnomes were known for their alchemy.
It was said that out of ten thousand poisons, gnomes had the antidote for nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine of them. With their alchemy abilities, there were few problems that they couldn’t solve.
But the corruption was anything but normal.
The corruption energy was something that literally contained the power of a god, so it wasn’t as if the gnomes would be able to do anything about it even if they had superb alchemy skills.
Divine energy could only be dealt with holy or divine energy.
As such, it only made sense that the gnomes had been taken over by the corruption energy.
They normally isolated themselves, so they didn’t get the news about the corruption energy. At the same time, the news that they were affected by the corruption energy wouldn’t spread because they were isolated.
So what the Dwarven King said really did seem to make sense.
However…
“It’s still too early to be convinced of this. Even if there are signs of the corruption energy in the territory of the gnomes, that doesn’t mean that all of the gnomes have been taken down yet. Until I see proof of this, I won’t give up on them.” I said with a firm shake of my head.
The representatives from the different races narrowed their eyes to look at me.
I could see the doubt that was in their eyes, but I didn’t hesitate to look right back at them with a determined look in my eyes.
Eventually, the Dwarven King was the one that broke the silence by breaking out in laughter.
The other representatives didn’t say anything at first, but eventually they all started laughing as well.
It wasn’t that they were laughing at me, rather they were laughing with me.
“Very good!” The Dwarven King said with a slap of his hand down on the table, “This is the brother that I’ve sworn to follow! You have the support of the Dwarven Kingdom in this matter!”
The others were more tactful than the Dwarven King.
The Merman King was the next to speak as he said, “You’re right, we can’t just abandon them if we know that they are in danger. It’s only right that we send people to help the gnomes. We’ll stand by you as well.”
The giants, elves, and fairies all agreed to send people as well.
Though this was only an agreement of the different races other than humans, that didn’t mean that the human race would actually move.
Or it would have been the case if it wasn’t me who agreed to this.
Because it was me, then at least the Holy Empire would move.
Once the Holy Empire moved, it wasn’t as if the rest of the human race would remain still.
Though the Tide Empire would most likely move because of the Merman Empire as well.
“Then it’s agreed. We’ll send an expedition to the territory of the gnomes to see what the situation is like. If it’s good, then we’ll do all that we can to help them. But if it’s bad…”
After this was said, all of them turned to look at me as if they were waiting for me to say something.
I looked back at them and didn’t say anything at first, but eventually I said, “We’ll take care of them. At least we’ll be able to put them to rest like this.”
The others nodded in agreement, but I could see the relieved look in their eyes.
It was as if they were worried that I would insist on saving the gnomes no matter what.
After all, even if they agreed with saving the gnomes, if it wasn’t possible…
Well, they simply weren’t going to risk the lives of their own people for an ideal.
That was why they were worried that I would insist on this.
Of course, I thought the same as them.
If the gnomes could be saved, we would save them.
If they couldn’t…then there was no other choice.
