Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1561: Rescue mission (1)

Chapter 1561: Rescue mission (1)
As soon as we approached the edge of the spreading corruption energy, the strange creatures reacted.
They didn’t hesitate at all as they charged at us.
But we already knew how to deal with them.
I didn’t even get the chance to make a move as the others reacted before I could.
The ones from the Holy Empire were the ones that acted.
What they did was work with the wyverns like they did before. As they injected their holy magic into the wyverns, the wyverns were able to release powerful breaths filled with holy magic flames.
That was enough to wipe out the strange creatures that were charging forward.
One breath alone might not have been enough to wipe them out, but many breaths all at once were able to wipe out the strange creatures completely. They just weren’t able to resist at all as the flames filled with holy energy swept over them, completely erasing them from this world.
When it was over, the patch of corruption energy that had been there disappeared without a trace.
I couldn’t help raising a brow when I saw this.
After all, it seemed that the holy knights and priests were much more in sync with the wyverns compared to before. It was almost as if this was something that they had practiced together behind my back.
But it also felt like it was a waste of energy.
It would have been much easier for me or Joan to take care of this on our own instead of having so many people from the Holy Empire and so many wyverns take care of this. It felt that it would have been much more energy efficient if we took care of it.
Still, it was already too late and there was no time to worry about this.
The more important thing right now was seeing if they could find any gnomes and seeing if they could rescue them.
But even if that was the mission, it wasn’t as if we knew where the gnomes were.
There was a reason why these strange creatures had been searching around the area in the first place.
They were looking for the gnomes to begin with.
I turned to the Dwarven King and asked, “Do you have any suggestions?”
The Dwarven Kingdom were the ones that had interacted with the gnomes the most. So in this case, they should be the ones that knew the most about where the gnomes would hide if they were hiding.
Only the Dwarven King revealed an awkward look as he shook his head and said, “I don’t know.”
Well, it was a long shot to begin with.
“So I guess the only thing that we can do is spread out and see if we can find anything.” I said to myself in the end without blaming the Dwarven King.
The others didn’t seem optimistic about the success rate of this plan, but they didn’t say anything as they prepared to spread out.
But before that happened, I couldn’t help seeing something out of the corner of my eyes.
“Wait!”
Everyone immediately stopped and turned to look at me when they heard this, but I was already moving to a different spot. It was a spot that had been covered in corruption energy just a moment ago, but had been cleared out with a breath of holy flames.
When I walked over, I didn’t really do anything as I continued looking at this spot.
But even if I didn’t do anything, that didn’t mean that the strange creatures wouldn’t do anything. At the same time, the corruption energy that was around us tried to surge forward as if it wanted to swallow us.
The others knew that I must have found something, which was why they covered me without a single word.
Though there were some looks of doubts that were cast at my discretion.
Most of these looks of doubt came from the ones from the Democratic Union.
They were the ones that had seemed to have the most doubt towards this plan, but they still sent their people because of what it meant for the continent if they didn’t deal with this.
Well, it was rather what it meant for the Democratic Union if they didn’t deal with this.
After looking at the ground for a bit, I waved at the magicians from the Sorcery Empire to come over.
They looked at me with confused looks, but they still came over to see what I was calling them for. But once they came over, I waved at them to look at the ground with me.
The magicians all had confused looks on their faces as they looked down at where I was gesturing.
After all, they couldn’t find anything.
“You really don’t sense it?” I asked in a confused voice when I saw their reactions.
The magicians looked at me with the same confused looks on their faces which showed that they had no idea what I was talking about.
I had to pause for a moment to make sure that they weren’t playing around, but it didn’t seem like they were playing. It seemed like they were genuinely confused about what I was trying to show them.
But I was certain that I didn’t make a mistake.
There was a trace of mana here that was no doubt left by the gnomes even if they couldn’t see it.
I even had an idea of what this trace of mana was.
After all, it was related to an item that was featured regarding the gnomes in the game. So this was something that anyone that had knowledge from the game would recognize right away.
“Follow me.” I suddenly said with a wave of my hand before heading off in a certain direction.
I had my head on the ground, but I also had the Staff of Earth in my hand creating a path in front of me with the divine energy earth.
So they had no choice but to follow me.
