Chapter 1580: This isn’t it
Since this was a joint operation by the four empires of the human race and the forces of the different races, it didn’t take long to take care of the corruption energy and the strange creatures that wandered around the territory of the gnomes.
It was very helpful having Joan there since she was able to use her flames as a method of tracking down the corruption energy.
The divine energy flame breath was the natural enemy of the corruption energy, so it surged forward in the direction of the corruption energy. Even though she used this out in the open, it still led them in the right direction.
The flame breaths filled with holy energy just didn’t have the same effect.
The holy energy just wasn’t strong enough to chase after the corruption energy after all.
At the same time, the gnomes also started learning more and more about the corruption energy from the strange creatures that were captured.
This was done on my orders since I wanted to see if they could do anything with their alchemy skills.
There were methods of dealing with the corruption energy and the strange creatures, but it would never hurt to have another method.
With the alchemy skills of the gnomes, they should be able to create some kind of potion that would be able to deal with it.
While they didn’t have any success so far, it did seem promising with the way that the gnomes studied the strange creatures.
It would no doubt take some time before they would have any success, so I left this matter to them.
At the same time, there were some people from the Holy Empire that were stationed here since the gnomes wouldn’t be able to deal with the corruption energy on their own. Most of the corruption energy had been taken care of, but there was no telling what would happen.
It was always better to be safe than sorry.
Once we left the Gnome Union, I once again didn’t head right back home.
Instead, I headed once more to the Holy Empire.
The time that I had spent in the Holy Empire…it was actually more than I spent in my own kingdom these days. With all of the things that were happening, I had no choice but to go to the Holy Empire once more.
After all, that was the only place that would allow me to contact the gods.
With this fourth Relic of Destruction secured, that meant that the mission that they gave me was cleared.
Though I did have a few questions about this fourth Relic of Destruction.
After all, it was nowhere near the place that they told me the fourth relic was in. At the same time, my perception of the Relics of Destruction had changed since I obtained divine energy.
With my divine energy, I was able to form a seal on the Relic of Destruction.
At the same time, I was able to sense that there was something different about this Relic of Destruction.
It was a sensation that was missing compared to the other Relics of Destruction.
It was that there wasn’t the sensation of a seal around this Relic of Destruction.
Even if this Relic of Destruction had been unsealed, the divine energy would still leave traces behind which I could sense. Only I couldn’t sense a single trace of that coming from this Relic of Destruction that I was holding.
Did that mean that the God of Destruction had recovered to the point where they could even destroy the seals formed by the other gods?
The more that I thought about this, there were more questions that filled my mind.
But thinking about them really didn’t do anything for me.
So instead, I went to meet with the gods to see what the answer was.
However, the moment that I arrived in that special plane…
I could see that the gods had already gathered when I arrived. With the way that they were gathered around, it was as if they had already been expecting me to arrive.
But then again, they were gods.
They should have been able to predict this one small matter since they were watching over the world most of the time.
Instead of paying attention to me, it was as if they were searching for something. Though they didn’t directly search me as they looked at me as if they were waiting for me to take something out.
So with a bitter smile, I took out two clumps of earth.
One was the thing that sealed the Apostle of Destruction.
The other was the thing that had the sealed Relic of Destruction in it.
With the way that their heads turned, it was clear that they were more interested in one of these things compared to the other.
It was the Relic of Destruction that they were more interested in.
I didn’t say anything as I waited for them to say something, but it didn’t seem like they were going to say anything in the end. So I had no choice but to say something.
“Couldn’t you have told me that the Relic of Destruction was moved? If I hadn’t been lucky enough to encounter this Apostle of Destruction with it, then I never would have found this fourth Relic of Destruction.”
Though I said this, there was no response from the gods.
With the way that they were standing there, it really seemed like they didn’t hear me at all.
It was as if they were completely focused on the Relic of Destruction and the Relic of Destruction alone.
The more that they ignored me like this, the more awkward that I felt.
But in the end, Solista finally spoke by saying, “This isn’t it.”
“Huh?” I couldn’t help asking in a confused voice.
Solista just continued by saying, “This isn’t the fourth Relic of Destruction that we mentioned before. This is something completely different from that and that’s why this is a problem.”
