Chapter 1592: Castle in the sky (7)

That spear wasn’t that powerful and it wasn’t even thrown with that much force.

So even though the spear was coming right at me, it didn’t actually do anything to me.

All that happened was that it bounced off the ice barrier that had been around me.

It didn’t even leave a single crack on the barrier.

Once the spear fell to the ground, I couldn’t help narrowing my eyes to look at it.

When I saw the full appearance of the spear, there was a strange look that appeared on my face.

After all, there was something strange about this spear.

It didn’t have the normal appearance of a spear, it seemed like it was much too small to be used as a normal spear. In a way, it seemed like a toy for children with how short this spear was.

I didn’t really know how to feel about this or what to make of this.

But in the end, I chose to ignore the fact that a spear had been thrown at me to keep moving forward.

While I didn’t know what this spear was, it was a spear that didn’t pose any threat at all, so it wasn’t as if there was a need to care about this.

Only the moment that I took another step, there was another sound that rang out.

“Click.”

The same thing happened where there was another spear that came at me, but it came from a different angle. However, it wasn’t as if this spear was dangerous either as the same thing happened where the spear was easily stopped by the ice barrier.

This time, my expression was completely different.

There was a dark look that was on my face as I looked at the two spears that were on the ground.

I really felt like doing something about this, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that I could actually do. After all, the ones that had set this up had already all died and the only way they communicated was through prerecorded messages.

After standing there in silence for a bit, I started walking down the hall once more.

With each step that I took, there was another spear that was thrown in my direction. It seemed that there was no end to booby traps in this hall, but I also couldn’t see where these trap tiles were.

The only thing that I could do was continue down the hall with the ice barrier up.

With the ice barrier up, it wasn’t as if any of these spears could actually hurt me.

Though I wasn’t complacent either as I had my guard fully up, ready to react in case anything changed. After all, there was no telling if the spears would suddenly be swapped out.

Even if the spears that were currently being thrown at me were these toy spears, there was no guarantee that the spears wouldn’t change to actual spears.

Once actual spears started to fly, then the situation would be completely different. Once actual spears started to fly, then it became a matter of life and death.

Right now, it was more that I was being harassed by the people that had left these traps.

I couldn’t help picking up one of the spears to test with my own hands.

There wasn’t even a tip on this spear, so it couldn’t actually cause any damage even if it were to hit me.

“So this is just harassment?” I said with a sigh.

The hall was lit with torches, so I could see into the distance. It was just that even with the torches lighting the way forward, it didn’t seem like there was an end to this hall.

That was until after walking for a while, I saw some kind of door at the end.

That at least told me that this hall was coming to an end.

When I approached that door, the clicking sound and the spears stopped flying out.

That was when I slowed down to look carefully at the space that was in front of the door. After all, there was no telling if this was some kind of trick to make me let my guard down before hitting me with the real trap.

Only it didn’t seem like I was able to find anything.

I hadn’t even been able to find the childish traps, so it wasn’t as if I would be able to find the real trap. And at this point, it wasn’t as if I could actually go back since I had already come this far.

That meant the only thing that was left was…

Holding the Staff of Earth and the button in my hands, I prepared to stop any trap that came at me.

“Sorry about that! The children got into this corridor and laid some of their pranks down.”

The same voice as before rang out which caused a bitter smile to appear on my face.

“Pranks? You call this a prank?” I said while looking at the many different spears that were stabbed into the ground behind me. Though I wasn’t keeping count, a rough estimate would be that there were around a thousand spears that were stabbed into the ground.

Not to mention that this was only the spears that I could see.

There were others that had been left behind as I passed the area from before.

This really didn’t seem like a prank…

But in the end, there was nothing that I could say since I was in the territory of these angels. Even if I didn’t like what they were saying, I had to go along with it since there was nothing else I could do.

“Just keep on going and you’ll reach the Relic of Destruction soon.”

The way that the kind looking old man said this really made me want to punch him in the face.

But since I couldn’t, I walked up to the door and walked through.

The moment that I walked through, it was as if the ground gave out under me.
