Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1682: Sacred Duel (5)

Chapter 1682: Sacred Duel (5)
The Sacred Duel started the very next morning.
With how fast it started, it seemed as if they had already been prepared, but they had just been waiting for me to arrive before starting the Sacred Duel.
No one really confirmed or denied this, but that was enough to tell me the truth.
Still, I didn’t say anything as I headed to the seats that had been prepared for me.
I found that I wasn’t the only one that was seated here.
There were other guests from other races that were also here, as well as the representatives of the human race.
There were also some people that I didn’t really want to see, but they also didn’t want to see me either. That was why they had been arranged to sit in a private seat rather than with the rest of us.
Of course this was the representative from the Democratic Union and the ones that followed them.
Once we were seated, it didn’t take long for the tournament to begin.
King Kashou was the one that personally hosted the opening ceremony for this tournament which made the crowd even more excited.
After he finished with the opening ceremony, they didn’t waste any time in bringing out the first match.
However, this first match wasn’t a one on one match.
Rather, this was a battle royale.
The way that the Sacred Duel worked was that there were preliminary rounds where everyone was put into groups and then brought out together.
After all, there were just simply too many people that had come to participate in the Sacred Duel and it was impossible to let everyone participate in the main matches.
As such, there was a sort of filtering that was needed to make sure that only the best went through to the next round.
This is what these preliminary rounds were for.
But it was certainly exciting seeing everyone fight each other like this.
A free for all like this was certainly a different feel compared to the one on one battles that would come afterwards.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if these contestants were holding back when it came to this free for all.
They knew that if they didn’t make it here, they wouldn’t even have a chance to show off what they have in the main event. As such, they knew that it was best to go all out so they didn’t leave any regrets.
That was why I was able to see what I wanted to see quite early.
“There’s a faint glow coming from the weapons when they swing them, is that the divine energy of their ancestors?”
The ones from the Holy Empire that heard this looked at me with a strange look before looking carefully at the weapons that they were swinging. However judging by the looks on their faces, it was clear that they weren’t seeing the same thing that I was seeing.
That was most likely because they just didn’t have the same divine energy as me.
I didn’t know what it was about it that made it possible for me to see this divine energy, but I could see it.
But after seeing it, I couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed.
The fact that the others didn’t see it meant that there wasn’t anything special about it.
It was that it wasn’t strong enough that it could be seen with the naked eye like the divine energy that I used.
So that meant that these local gods really weren’t that strong.
Perhaps there might be a few that would be stronger than these later on, but this really didn’t set the bar high.
With how low the bar currently was, it would be surprising if there was anything else interesting later on.
Or that was how I felt during the first round.
When the second round came, I saw something interesting.
There was something completely different that happened and when this happened, it created a phenomenon that I didn’t expect to see.
“Crack!”
One of the relics actually snapped under the pressure of another one of the relics.
The moment that this relic snapped, there was something strange that happened with the light that had been coming from that relic.
The moment that the relic snapped, it was as if there was something that pulled the light out of that relic.
As for the thing that was pulling out this light, it was the other relic that had snapped it.
This light flowed right out of the relic that broke and seemed to embed itself inside of the relic that snapped it. Then after entering the second relic, it seemed like it was being devoured by the second relic.
Was this how it worked?
No, this shouldn’t be the case with normal gods since they didn’t devour each other like this.
Each god had their own domain, so it wasn’t as if there was anything that they could gain from devouring each other.
But when it came to these local beast gods, they didn’t have their own individual domains. These local beast gods actually shared their domains since they were all ancestors of the demi humans that had gained divinity.
“Does that mean that the real god of the demi humans hasn’t been formed yet because they’re all split like this? Once all of the relics are destroyed, does that mean that the one that absorbs all the divinity will become the real god of the demi humans?”
The more that I thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
It really seemed like when it came to the position of the god of the demi humans, there was still a race for dominance.
But after realizing this, I was wondering how I would actually tell them about this.
I really didn’t want to tell them since it seemed like it was important and I should tell them.
After all, the demi humans would want to know about their god, right?
At the same time, it would be useful to the demi humans if they had their own gods and relics.
