Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1686 1686: Many questions (2)

“What is this thing?” I couldn’t help asking the moment that I saw it.
That was because this thing really was too strange for me to understand what it was.
At the same time, I was also confused by the fact that I could actually see this thing.
This thing seemed to be a mix of different animals, but it wasn’t in a way that didn’t make sense. It seemed like each part of its body was carefully chosen from different animals so that it would work when it was put together like this.
Though it certainly was a strange sight to behold…
Solista didn’t seem like she was going to answer my question at first, but eventually she said, “This is the god of the demi humans. I’m sure you can understand why I hesitate to call it a god and say that it’s complicated.”
I looked at her before shaking my head.
I most certainly did not know what she meant by this.
Even if I could see that the god of the demi humans was a mix of these different animals, that still didn’t actually explain what she meant.
So in the end, Solista went forward towards the god of the demi humans and said something.
Though there was a part of what she said that I didn’t understand.
“□□□□, how are you today?”
“Huh?” I couldn’t help digging my ears since it felt like there was something wrong with them.
Even though I knew that there was something that Solista said, it was as if my ears just refused to hear what it was. It was as if there was some kind of natural filter that was used to block me from hearing this.
Though Solista asked this question to the god of the demi humans, it didn’t seem like it heard anything.
It just seemed like it was completely still, as if there was something that was taking its attention.
I looked at Solista with an even more confused look when I saw this.
She just turned back to me and said with a sigh, “As you can see, this is the situation with this god of the demi humans. Since it’s an amalgamation of the different ancestors of the different demi human tribes, it doesn’t really react to anything. It only acts when the demi humans are in danger.”
Hearing this, I was even more confused.
“What about the different ancestors of the demi human tribes that had their bones turned into relics. Don’t they provide power to their descendants through divine energy?”
Solista seemed surprised to hear this with how she looked at me, even though I couldn’t actually see her face.
“So you could even figure all of that out. It seems like you’ve developed much more than I thought.”
I revealed a trace of bitterness on my face when I heard this, but I didn’t say anything as I waited for the answer to my question.
Once again, Solista waved her hand at me to follow her before saying, “Come, I’ll show you.”
We didn’t walk for long before arriving at a different place that was filled with buildings.
When I looked carefully, I could see that there were many different demi humans that made their residence here. They were covered in divine energy, but it seemed a bit weak compared to what a god should have.
Once we were here, Solista said, “These are the ancestors. They’ve become demigods and have been brought to live in the divine realm. From here, they can watch over their tribes.”
After she showed me this, all of the pieces of the puzzle seemed to click into place.
Though there was one thing that I was still confused about, “What about when their relics are destroyed and their divine energy is absorbed?”
“It’s very simple. They just become a part of the amalgamated mass that is the god of demi humans.”
“So the divine energy that is absorbed…”
“It’s not being absorbed by the relic, but into the amalgamated mass of the god of demi humans.”
“And the god of demi humans is the one that blesses those that win the Sacred Duel. The blessing should be the divine energy that is collected during the Sacred Duel.”
“That’s right, but they also continuously receive more divine energy after the Sacred Duel. The faith that would have gathered in the relics left behind are then passed onto the one that wins the Sacred Duel until they become a new demigod of the demi human race.” Solista added which solved another final doubt of mine.
The more that I heard about this, the more that it felt like there was something wrong with the cycle of demi humans.
“It’s because they were never taught properly like the humans and the other races. They were left on their own because that was how they were designed.”
“Huh?” I looked at Solista with a strange look after hearing this, but she didn’t say anything else.
She even turned away as if she felt that she had said something wrong, so it would be better if she didn’t say anything else.
I really couldn’t help feeling that there was something strange about all of this, but since she wasn’t going to tell me anything…
“Fine, I won’t pry any deeper since I know you won’t actually tell me anything.”
Solista seemed relieved when she heard this which made me even more certain that there was something much bigger behind all of this.
But for now, at least my major questions have been answered.
“How long will it take before other demigods start appearing.”
Solista gave a shrug as she said, “We don’t know. That will depend on the people that can become demigods.”
But then after thinking about it, she also added, “But in the case of your wyvern, that will depend on you.”
“Joan can become a demigod?” I was surprised to hear this.
Solista said with a nod, “With how much she follows you, she will eventually become one since she receives your blessing as well. When the time comes though, you might be in for a surprise.”
