“Huh?” The saintess was visibly caught off guard when she heard this.

She was usually good at controlling her emotions and her expressions, but she couldn’t help lapsing when she heard this.

It wasn’t just her who was caught off guard by this.

The popes were also similarly surprised that I had suddenly proposed something like this.

After a moment of silence, the popes started looking at me with strange looks. It was similar to how they seemed to be urging me on earlier when I called for the saintess.

It was clear that they had misunderstood something.

The saintess slowly said, “Holy son, it would be an honour to follow you.” Then after a pause, she added, “However, may I know the reason why you wish for me to follow you?”

I didn’t answer right away as I looked at her with a strange look.

But after that silence, I said, “It was something that Solista told me to do.”

The popes and the saintess seemed surprised to hear this before they suddenly revealed serious looks.

It was one thing if I asked for the saintess to follow me, it was a completely different thing if this was an order from Solista. After all, an order from a god wasn’t that easily obtained.

Unless matters were serious, it wasn’t as if gods would give oracles that easily.

However, it wasn’t as if I was kidding about this matter since this was something that Solista had indeed told me about.

And the reason that I asked the saintess to follow me was…

This time, the popes and the saintess were completely shocked to hear what I said.

There was even a trace of disbelief that was in their eyes after they heard this.

I didn’t blame them since what I said really was a bit too unbelievable.

I didn’t really care if they believed me or not since I had already told them everything that Solista had told me.

Even if they didn’t believe me, there was nothing else that I could say.

In the end, the saintess slowly gave a nod before saying, “Then holy son, please let me follow you for this period of time.”

The look in the eyes of the saintess showed that she was confused about all of this, but she chose to accept the message that I passed onto her.

Though there was a part of me that was wondering just what Solista was planning by having the saintess follow me like this. I really had no idea what she meant when she said that the saintess had a chance to become a demigod just by following me.

It was the same for Joan…

But other than this, there was something else that I had to say to these people from the Holy Empire.

“Other than the saintess, there are others that have the possibility of becoming demigods.”

The eyes of the popes filled with shock when they heard this before they quickly asked, “Holy son, do you know where these people are? We must send people to protect them right away. They will be the vanguard of the racial alliance when the God of Destruction revives.”

I just shook my head before saying, “If I knew this, then wouldn’t I have already told you so we could secure them? It’s because I don’t know that I’ll have to ask you to keep an eye out for these people.”

Then after another pause, I added, “But of course, you can’t do too much and alert the enemies. You have to make sure to keep your movements a secret so we don’t draw too much attention.”

The popes had serious looks on their faces, but they eventually nodded in agreement to what I said.

Though judging by the looks on their faces, it really seemed like they were disappointed with this.

Still, there wasn’t anything that I could do since I was never given more information than this.

Well, there was one other thing that I had kept secret since I wanted to use it at the end to raise their spirits again.

When I said this, it pulled the popes out of their thoughts.

This last part seemed to be aimed at a certain someone that was also in the room with us.
