Chapter 1689: Aren’t they a bit too big?

I stayed another day in the Holy Empire after that.

It wasn’t that I wanted to stay in the Holy Empire, it was just that I had no choice since they begged me to stay.

So in the end, I had to stay for another day.

During the night of my stay, they actually held a ceremony where they crowned me as a new demigod. It was an ambush when it came to the ceremony, so I had no choice but to participate.

With how many people were actually worshipping me in the end…I really didn’t know what to say.

But at the same time, it was clear that the matter that I was a demigod would soon spread to the other nations. It was impossible for the Holy Empire not to have informants from the other nations with how big it was.

It was done deliberately to spread the information about demigods, so that the other nations would know what demigods were. But there was one piece of information that they deliberately kept secret from the rest of the world.

It was the fact that there would be more demigods appearing in the future.

The way that the Holy Empire set up this ceremony, it was as if they were saying that I would be the only demigod out there.

In this way, they were setting me up as bait.

Since demigods would be an important fighting force in the future fight against the forces of Destruction, it was only natural that demigods would be important to the racial alliance.

As such, my position would reach a completely different level as everyone would want to draw me in.

Since they didn’t know that there could be other demigods out there, then they wouldn’t go looking for them. This would create a gap that would allow the Holy Empire to go searching for those demigods while everyone was focused on me.

Though when it came to the allies of the other races, I would find some way to get this information to them so they could work with the Holy Empire. Especially if there were members of their races that would be able to become demigods in the future.

As for being turned to bait…

Well, it wasn’t as if this was anything new.

The Democratic Union had already shown their hand at the last meeting and it certainly wouldn’t be the last time that they would try this. As such, there was nothing to lose from becoming bait like this.

At least this would give us a greater chance of success.

Once I left the Holy Empire, the first place that I headed to was the Kite Kingdom.

After everything that had happened, it had been a long time since I had returned home.

There was a part of me that was worried on the way home.

It wasn’t that I was worried that my wives would be angry with me for the person that I was bringing with me. Rather, it was because I was worried about something that might change in my relationship with my daughters.

The last time that I had been away for a while…

It seemed that I had been worried for nothing.

When I arrived, I heard them calling for me right away.

Though when they ran over to be hugged by me, I couldn’t help being caught off guard.

With how much time has passed, they shouldn’t be more than one year old.

However, with the speed that they had grown at, they already looked like they were three year olds. At the same time, it seemed like they were able to run and talk at the level of three year olds.

It really seemed like they had developed much faster than other kids at the same age.

That was why I was worried that there was something wrong with them…

Especially since I knew that they had my divine energy inside of them.

“Could it be that they’ll age faster than other kids, but also die faster?” I couldn’t help worrying about my daughters after seeing them like this.

There was no father that wanted to see their children go before them.

From what I could tell, it didn’t seem like there was anything wrong with them other than the fact that they grew up faster than other kids.

“Papa, why aren’t you saying anything?”

I was caught off guard when they asked me this before I quickly revealed a smile and started talking with my daughters.

I found that they were far more eloquent than other kids at their age, but it was only natural since they had already shown signs of high intelligence since they had been born.

The one part that I felt relieved by was the fact that they were very close to me.

Not only did they recognize me as their father, they also kept trying to get closer to me as if they were fighting for my affection. At one point, I even had to stop two of my daughters from actually fighting to get into my arms.

I was stronger now, so I was able to carry all three of them with ease even if they were bigger than I had expected.

Once they got their fill of affection from me, they returned to their mother’s side since they still had lessons to go to.

While they were leaving, I couldn’t help asking the saintess, “Did you notice anything wrong with my daughters? Do you think that they’re in danger?”
