Chapter 1691: Sudden eruption

“Saintess, aren’t you quite far from the Holy Empire. What are you doing here?”

“Your highnesses, I could ask you the same thing.”

I didn’t need to introduce the princesses to the saintess since it was quite easy for her to figure out who they were. After all, they had very defining features about them that no one else had, so it would be hard to not figure it out.

Just a single look was enough for the saintess to figure out that these were the princesses of the demi human race.

With the way that they looked at each other, it made it quite clear that they were hostile towards each other.

I turned to the prime minister and the chancellor to see if they would be able to do something, but I found that the two of them had turned away. With the way that they were acting, it was as if they didn’t see any of what was happening between the three of them.

I looked at them with a bitter smile after seeing them like this, but I didn’t have any time to care about them since it seemed like there was something that was about to happen between the saintess and the two princesses.

Though before I could actually do anything, there was someone that suddenly came into the room.

With the way that they burst in, it caused everyone’s attention to turn to them.

To my surprise, I found it was Angela who was standing there.

Though I couldn’t help feeling worried when I saw her because her stomach had grown quite a bit since I had last seen her. It seemed that she was already close to the end of her pregnancy and it was a matter of time before she gave birth.

As for the other three, I was certain that it wouldn’t take long for them to give birth as well since it wasn’t long after Angela was impregnated that they had become pregnant as well.

Seeing her like this, I went over to help her before saying, “What’s wrong? Why aren’t you resting in bed?”

“I wanted to see you.”

I was caught off guard when she said this with a sweet smile on her face.

Then before I could react, she came forward as if she was falling towards me.

I didn’t know why she was doing this, I just knew that it was dangerous for her to be doing something like this. That was why I immediately reached out and took her in my arms.

After I caught her, the prime minister also came over with a concerned look as he started making sure that she was alright.

Both of us were looking at Angela closely to make sure that she was fine, but she just waved her hand and said, “You’re both worrying for nothing. I’m completely fine.”

After she said this, she turned to look at the saintess and the two princesses with a smile on her face.

Though the smile didn’t seem to reach her eyes.

I didn’t know why she was doing this, but I couldn’t help revealing a bitter smile. But then with a serious look, I said, “You shouldn’t be doing something as dangerous like this. You have to think about yourself and your child.”

Angela gave a nod before saying, “Sorry, I was too excited.”

Seeing her like this, all I could do was shake my head and give a sigh.

I really didn’t understand what suddenly got into Angela, but the important thing was to get her to her bed to rest before anything else happened. Even if this meant being a bit rude to the saintess and the two princesses.

It definitely wasn’t that I was using this as an excuse to escape.

“Your highnesses, I hope you won’t mind excusing me. I have to escort my wife to her room so she can rest.”

The two of them were about to say something, but then…

“Boom!”

It wasn’t a loud sound, it sounded like it was something that was coming from very far in the distance. However, it was impossible to miss this sound as it was clearly some kind of explosion.

After this sound rang out, I didn’t waste any time in gathering an ice barrier around myself.

I didn’t even include the prime minister in this since my first thought was to protect Angela and our child.

Seeing that nothing happened, I slowly released the barrier and turned to look at the prime minister, but I found that he had already run off with the chancellor. It seemed that the two of them had gone to find what had happened.

The two of them handed me a report without any hesitation and without any words.

I looked down to find that this was a report about a volcano.

It seemed that the sound that we heard earlier was the sound of a volcano suddenly erupting.
