Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1706: Ruler of flames

Chapter 1706: Ruler of flames
“Alright, alright! I give up! I’ll form a contract with you!” Ifrit said after a long struggle.
I looked at the different things that I had tossed onto the ground around it before shaking my head with a faint smile.
Ifrit had really held on for quite a bit of time, but I was able to wear it down in the end.
It was a good thing that I had prepared all of these things ahead of time or else I wouldn’t have been able to get Ifrit to submit like this.
But there was a part of me that couldn’t help being impressed by how long Ifrit had held out.
Each of the items that I had brought had a certain percentage to tame Ifrit according to the game, but all of these items that I used had failed to tame him.
In a sense, it could even be said that I was quite unlucky…
If he hadn’t given up in the end, then I really didn’t know what to do since I was close to running out of things to use to tame him. But in the end, it was a good thing that one of the few items that I had left worked.
Though I was a bit surprised that this was the item that had done it.
It was the fire essence that I had used on the lava golems and lava spirits from before, but it was more concentrated than the drop that I had used on them.
It turned out that Ifrit was a glutton, which was why he had given up when I took out this fire essence.
Still, it was a good thing that I had been able to convince him in the end.
After convincing Ifrit, I took out a piece of paper that I put down on the ground.
This piece of paper was perfectly fine even though it was surrounded by flames since it was a special kind of paper. It was a kind of paper that was resistant to spirit energy flames like this.
It was the kind of paper that was specially used in situations like this since it would be able to resist the natural energy that came from spirits.
On this piece of paper was a special array that was used to form contracts with spirits.
But this array wasn’t just any normal array.
This was an array that was a very high level array since it was strong enough to even form a contract with the Spirit King like Ifrit.
“You’ve even prepared something like this.” Ifrit couldn’t help saying in a surprised voice when he saw the piece of paper that I took out.
I just said with a smile, “You know what to do.”
Ifrit gave a nod before suddenly breaking down his body. His human body turned back into flames, but it wasn’t that he was running away.
Instead, the flames flowed in a stream towards the piece of paper that I had taken out.
These flames came to the center of the array on that piece of paper and then entered it without any hesitation.
After the flames entered the array, the array suddenly lit up.
Seeing this, I picked up the piece of paper from the ground and brought it up to the back of my hand before putting it on. Once the piece of paper was placed on the back of my hand, it seemed to stick itself to my hand.
The array continued to glow while it released flames, but none of those flames burned me.
Rather they just seemed to smoulder on my hand like this for a bit before disappearing without a trace.
After they disappeared, the array itself also disappeared without a trace.
If one hadn’t seen the flames, then they wouldn’t have known what had just happened.
But I knew what happened since I could feel the connection that I had with Ifrit.
With a single thought, there were flames that appeared around my hand.
Then with a single snap of my finger, there was a wave of flames that was released in front of me.
With how the flames moved along with my thoughts, it was as if I was the ruler of these flames that would be able to make them do whatever I wanted them to do. That was what it meant to be contracted to the Fire Spirit King.
Though that wasn’t the only reason why I could control the flames so easily.
“What is with your body? What is this elemental affinity?” I could hear Ifrit’s surprised voice coming from my mind.
Once we formed the contract, it could be said that we shared our minds and could talk to each other whenever. Though if I wanted to, I could also keep things from him that he wouldn’t be able to see.
Such as things from my past life.
“No, that’s divine energy…Are you a demigod?” Ifrit’s voice was filled with shock as he said this.
I didn’t say anything in response since it was more than obvious enough that I didn’t have to say anything.
“What are you?” Ifrit said in a very blunt manner, but I just ignored it once more.
I just said in a way like I was dodging his question, “Your contractor.”
Ifrit didn’t say anything at first, but eventually he said with a sigh, “It seems like I’ve gotten myself involved with quite the interesting and mysterious person. I’m curious to see what you will be able to do in the future.”
For once Ifrit actually sounded like an adult which was a bit off putting to me, but then…
“So what are you planning to do now? I’ve been stuck in here for a while now and I want to see the world.” He suddenly said in an excited voice.
I couldn’t help shaking my head with a faint smile, but I said, “There’s still a few loose ends that I have to tie up, so I’ll have to use your lava golems for something interesting.”
