Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1710: The Democratic Union’s fall

Chapter 1710: The Democratic Union’s fall
“It seems like everyone’s really serious about the matter with the Democratic Union.” I couldn’t help saying after reading the report that had come in.
It hadn’t been long since we had gone to investigate Ifrit’s home under the volcano, but it seemed like the other countries moved quickly.
They didn’t want to give the Democratic Union any chance to deny any plausibility in this matter, which they actually did try to do. After reporting back, the Democratic Union had tried to release a statement that blamed everything on the group that had gone with the investigation team.
However, none of the other countries accepted this and immediately started taking action against the Democratic Union.
They didn’t go as far as attacking them since there was still the racial peace treaty that was present on the continent, so they couldn’t actually do something like that.
But what they could do was take economic action against the Democratic Union.
The Democratic Union could be considered a production powerhouse with the large amounts of magic items that they had at their possession. They were able to easily create large amounts of products because of their refined production lines.
However, that didn’t mean anything if there wasn’t anyone to buy the products that they created.
With the production lines that they had, it was impossible for their country alone to digest all of these products. So the only thing that they could do was export these products to other countries.
The Democratic Union had many different contracts with many different countries, selling their goods to them.
It was just that the moment that the other three empires broke off their deals with the Democratic Union, it meant that many other countries soon followed after them. With the pressure of those three empires, it wasn’t as if those countries could just continue trading with the Democratic Union.
In the end, this meant that there were a bunch of products that were currently sitting around in the Democratic Union.
The businesses that suffered because of this couldn’t pay their workers and soon there was a recession that happened in the Democratic Union.
For the Democratic Union that relied on selling their products, they couldn’t make money if no one bought their products.
There were attempts by the Democratic Union to appeal this, but there was nothing that they could do. After all, this was a combined effort from all of the different countries that made up the racial alliance.
If they really wanted to do something, then it was likely that they might even be kicked from the racial alliance.
So there really wasn’t anything that the Democratic Union could do except finally admit their mistake.
Even then, it was slow in getting the other countries to accept this apology and they continued the embargo on the Democratic Union.
It really seemed like the Democratic Union would be losing a lot of their power at this rate.
Of course, the Democratic Union had come to me during this time, asking if I could mediate this situation with my position in the racial alliance.
However, I firmly rejected them.
They had repeatedly tried to put pressure on me and used me to get what they wanted, so of course I wouldn’t help them that easily.
It was better if the Democratic Union suffered a bit since it would be easier to control them in the future.
The actions of the Democratic Union were a bit too much, so even if I wanted to keep the racial alliance strong, I couldn’t just ignore them. I had to at least restrain the Democratic Union a bit so that they wouldn’t be able to do something like this in the future.
And while everyone was distracted by the matter of the Democratic Union, I was doing something with Ifrit.
…
“Are none of them budging?”
Though this question had been posed, there wasn’t a single person that answered.
It was as if they were afraid to answer with the way that they acted, but that was normal since none of them actually had an answer to give.
For the first time in its long history, the Democratic Union was in real danger.
They never thought that something that they considered simple would blow up like this.
But now that it had been blown up like this, there really wasn’t anything that they could do about it.
Seeing that no one answered him, the president of the Democratic Union didn’t lose his temper as he calmly asked, “Then what about him? Is he still not being swayed?”
This time, there was a reaction that came from the people that were at this table.
The look on their faces as if they had been offended and it seemed like they had been offended by someone that they considered beneath them.
The president of the Democratic Union didn’t ask any other questions, it just looked like he understood how they felt.
But since they had this reaction, he knew that the answer to his question wasn’t good.
“Since this is the case, the only thing that we can do is consider other options.” The president said with a sigh.
When they heard this, the people at the table couldn’t help revealing slightly knitted brows.
It was clear that they didn’t like what he said, but at the same time, it really seemed like they knew that they had no other choices.
With the other countries bearing down on them like this, they had to find a way out of this situation.
If the way out of this situation was to take the hand of someone that could be considered an enemy…
Seeing the looks on their faces, the president just simply said, “Keep looking for them and see if they’re willing to accept our offer. If they are, then we’ll do our best to accomplish what they asked us to do before. But if they aren’t, then make sure that you get as much as you can from them before letting them go.”
The people at the table all nodded in agreement to this.
