Chapter 1718: Forming contracts with spirits?
When I was finally done ransacking this place, that was when I left this palace.
Undine looked like she was about to cry when she saw what I had done, but it wasn’t as if she could stop me since we were contracted now.
Though judging by the look on her face, it was clear that she was regretting her choices.
I didn’t mind any of this as I made my way back to the surface.
When I came back out, I didn’t waste any time in bringing out a few things.
Since I had ransacked the palace of Undine, it was only natural that I would have a few things prepared for my wives.
It was the only way that I would be able to appease them after disappearing for so long.
Or that was what I thought about doing until I saw that there was something strange happening where they were having their picnic.
I wasn’t gone long enough for it to become dark, but I could see that there was a light coming from in front of me. It was a red and blue glow, as if there was something that was creating this light.
When I came closer, I found the source and I couldn’t help being caught off guard by it.
After all, I never expected something like this.
“How are they doing this?” I couldn’t help muttering to myself when I saw the spirits that surrounded my daughters.
They clearly didn’t have something like this before, but now they were surrounded not just by water spirits, but also fire spirits. However, it wasn’t that they were just surrounded by these water and fire spirits.
I could tell from the connection from my own connection with the Fire Spirit King and the Water Spirit King that they had with the water and fire spirits that they had formed a contract with them.
I just couldn’t understand how my daughters had suddenly formed a contract with these spirits in the blink of an eye.
After all, I knew that they hadn’t formed these contracts previously.
It had only happened after I had gone to explore Undine’s palace.
“What happened here?” I asked my wives as I came closer.
My wives looked at me with confused looks before saying, “We don’t know what happened either. These spirits just suddenly appeared out of nowhere and suddenly started playing with them. It doesn’t seem like they’re planning to leave either.”
It seemed that they knew even less than me.
They didn’t even know that the spirits had formed contracts with them.
So I explained what I had sensed to them.
When I was done, Rose stepped forward and asked, “Is it dangerous?”
Haley and Cecilia also looked at me right away after hearing this.
The way that the three of them were looking at me was as if they were compelling me to answer their question.
I didn’t answer right away as I just stared at the three of them playing with the spirits for a bit. Though they didn’t say anything, I could feel the gazes of the three mothers looking in my direction, putting pressure on me.
Eventually I said with a shake of my head, “It shouldn’t put them in any danger since these are just low grade spirits. They aren’t strong enough to put any pressure on them or hurt them with their powers. Not to mention that they have contracts with these spirits, so the spirits wouldn’t hurt them for no reason.”
“But they are still spirits.” Rose said in a firm voice.
I just gave a simple nod without saying anything as I continued looking at them with confused looks.
I just couldn’t understand what was happening with the three of them.
But I noticed that there was a pattern.
When I gained something, it seemed like my daughters were gaining it as well.
Such as when I gained divine energy, it didn’t take long for divine energy to appear in them as well.
Then when I obtained these Spirit Kings, it seemed that spirit affinity awoke in them and they were able to make contracts with these low grade spirits.
Though there was one thing that was strange…
“Why did it only happen now? Why didn’t it happen when I made the contract with Ifrit?”
Putting that aside, I asked the two Spirit Kings, “Do either of you know what’s happening?”
Neither of the Spirit Kings said a thing as they seemed to be looking over my daughters.
In the end, both of them showed that they didn’t know a single thing about this.
So instead of asking about this, I just asked, “Will they be in any danger?”
“They’re not even at their capacity yet. They can still make contracts with more spirits if they wanted.” Ifrit answered right away.
Undine quickly followed up, “We’re not saying that they have to, we’re just saying that they have this talent.”
She said this when she saw me slightly knit my brows.
But I had to face my own problems as Rose suddenly asked, “Is something wrong?”
She had seen me slightly knit my brows to what Ifrit said and she thought that there was something wrong.
So I quickly said, “No, no, there’s nothing wrong. It’s just that I was thinking about something.”
Rose and the other two mothers narrowed their eyes to look at me after I said this, showing that they didn’t believe me.
Well, I didn’t blame them since it was their children that were the ones that were at the center of this. But they were my children as well, so it wasn’t as if I would let anything happen to them.
With a sigh, I said, “I’ll find someone that will be able to teach them about how to use this power, so they won’t be in any danger at all. In fact, the spirits will be able to protect them.”
This time, it seemed that Rose and the two mothers calmed down a bit.
But still they looked at me as if they were waiting for me to present something.
