Chapter 1780: Did you think I was alone?
The president of the Democratic Union knitted his brows the moment that he heard this.
He looked at me with a look that made his confusion clear.
After all, he didn’t believe that I would give up an opportunity like this.
What he was basically offering was a blank cheque from the Democratic Union, this was something that very few people would even have the chance to receive.
Even if the Democratic Union was in a slump because of what happened, it wasn’t as if they were that weak that they could be looked down on. They had their foundation as one of the four empires of the human race.
These words that were said almost made it seem like the Democratic Union didn’t have anything of value.
The more that the president of the Democratic Union thought about it, the more confused he was about all of this. After all, there was no reason that this person in front of him should be acting like this.
But the one thing that the president of the Democratic Union knew was that this person wouldn’t be acting this way unless they had a good reason for doing so.
That meant that there was something that was giving them the confidence to act this way.
“Just what is it…?” The president of the Democratic Union couldn’t help asking himself in a confused voice.
The more that he thought about it, the more confused he became.
In the end, he simply chose not to think about it anymore.
That was because it wasn’t as if he hadn’t already prepared for this.
The president of the Democratic Union had always prepared for the worst case scenario, it was how he had even reached his current position. As such, he had long prepared for what would happen if this person rejected his offer.
With a sigh, the president of the Democratic Union said, “I had hoped that we would be able to settle this simply with words, it would have made things much easier.”
Then in a colder voice, he said, “But since it can’t be done, you can’t blame me for what’s going to happen next.”
When he said these words, the tent around them suddenly fell apart and they were revealed to the world.
But it wasn’t as empty as it had been when we entered the tent.
Instead, there were people that were standing all around the tent with weapons that were aimed in our direction. They didn’t seem like they were planning to fire, but they also didn’t plan on letting us go if we made the slightest movement.
Once this reveal was over, the president of the Democratic Union looked at me with a cold smile and asked, “You didn’t think that I would be alone, right?”
I just looked back at him with a calm smile on my face and said, “Naturally I didn’t expect you to come alone.”
Then looking around, I added, “Though I have to admit that this was far more than I had imagined.”
At this point, the people around us didn’t even bother hiding where they were from. After all, it was impossible for them to hide this and there was no need for them to hide this.
The only thing that mattered now was taking me hostage so that they could put their plan into action.
However, the president of the Democratic Union couldn’t help feeling that this was strange.
He narrowed his eyes to look at us before saying, “What are you planning?”
The one thing that he noticed was that the guards around me didn’t move at all. Even though they had many different magic guns pointed at them, it didn’t seem like they were worried at all.
It didn’t even seem like they were planning to protect the one that they were supposed to protect.
This all made them seem a bit too calm.
As if they had something planned…
With a smile, I said, “You don’t think that I’ve come alone either, right?”
The president of the Democratic Union didn’t react at first before slowly revealing a smile to say, “Is that really all that you have to say?”
I didn’t respond as I kept looking at him with the same smile.
Seeing this, the president of the Democratic Union shook his head while breaking out in laughter.
When he finally stopped, he said, “Why don’t you try contacting them?”
Seeing that I didn’t do anything, he continued by saying, “Don’t you think that we’ve already cleared out this area? We’ve already removed all traces of the people that you’ve sent and we’ve locked down the area. Even if they try to break through, they won’t be able to do anything.”
Once again, I didn’t react at all which made the president of the Democratic Union say, “It seems like you’re still thinking highly of yourself. You might be able to deal with the forces of Destruction, but in terms of actual power, you still can’t compare to the Democratic Union. Young upstart, there’s a reason why we’ve been an empire for all these years.”
It seemed like the president of the Democratic Union lost interest in talking to me as he raised his hand and said, “Non lethal shots only. We don’t want to kill him, we just want to restrain him.”
Then he didn’t seem to care what I had to say as he waved his hand to give this order to the soldiers around us.
When they received this order, there was no hesitation as they all pulled their triggers.
But the moment that the shots were fired, there was this wall of earth that appeared around us that blocked all of their shots.
They didn’t hesitate to fire again and they even brought out heavier weapons this time.
Only before they could actually fire, they felt the ground shaking beneath them.
Then all of a sudden, there were cracks that appeared on the ground before the cliffs around us started to break apart.
