Chapter 1808: A true god’s messenger (2)
“The other thing that I wish to do is convey a few words from my patron to all of you.”
While everyone was shocked to hear this, the Fenrir turned to me and said, “Especially you, Holy Son. Lord Zephyrus has a few certain special words for you.”
I was caught off guard hearing this, especially with how serious the Fenrir looked when it said this.
It was completely different from the way that the Fenrir normally acted around me that I couldn’t help being caught off guard by this.
Once the Fenrir finished saying all of this, it seemed like there was something that was happening to it.
The moment that the Fenrir’s voice dropped, there was this glow that seemed to appear around its body.
This wasn’t a strong glow, it seemed to be a gentle glow with how it wrapped around the Fenrir.
It even seemed like it wasn’t there with how it seemed to fade in and out of reality.
This seemed to be a type of energy that didn’t seem to exist in this world.
This was the kind of energy that one would only be able to describe as godly.
After this glow appeared around the Fenrir, even its expression became blank as if it wasn’t looking at anything in particular. It seemed like this Fenrir had completely frozen in place with how it had changed.
But everyone knew that it wouldn’t be that simple.
After a long moment of silence, the Fenrir finally spoke once more.
Only when it spoke, the voice that came out of it was one that made everyone shocked.
At the same time, the voice that came out was one that didn’t seem to belong to this world. It was almost as if this voice was being beamed directly into their minds with how they heard it.
They knew that this wasn’t a voice that belonged to this mortal world.
This was a voice that belonged to the realm of the gods.
When they heard this, the ones that reacted first were the ones from the Holy Empire as they fell to their knees and bowed to the Fenrir. Or rather it was better to say that they were bowing to the one that was borrowing the Fenrir as a vessel.
After that, there were a few others that made gestures of worship as well, but none of them went as far as those from the Holy Empire.
After all, it wasn’t as if the god that was in front of them was the god that they worshipped. At the same time, it wasn’t as if the ones from the other countries were as religious as those from the Holy Empire.
It was only in the Holy Empire that one would be able to find this kind of fervent worship towards the divine.
The first thing that the possessed Fenrir said was, “I’m sorry, this is our fault as the gods.”
Everyone couldn’t help being taken aback since they didn’t expect the first thing from this god to be an apology.
In fact, they couldn’t really understand why this god was apologizing in the first place.
But the god soon explained why it had led with this.
“It’s because of our incompetence that you are all in this situation. If we had been able to seal the God of Destruction properly, then you wouldn’t have had to face them.”
All of the humans couldn’t help feeling awkward when they heard this.
First was the fact that there was a god that was currently apologizing to them.
For humans, it was only natural that gods would be considered above them and they were objects to be worshipped. So when there was a god that was apologizing to them, it really went too much against the norm that they didn’t know what to say.
Second, they didn’t know how to feel about what this god was saying.
The God of Destruction and the forces of Destruction were a threat that the entire continent faced, so there were a few bitter feelings that they felt.
However, they knew what the reason was behind the God of Destruction being sealed and they really couldn’t blame this god for this. In fact, there was no single god that they could blame for any of this.
After all, the scale was even a bit too big for them to feel like they could blame anything.
The God of Destruction being sealed was necessary for the world to keep existing, so they knew that the gods did this for them. It wasn’t as if the gods had any ill intentions towards them when they did this.
“There’s no point in saying these things. The only thing that matters is how we deal with them.” I was the one that spoke, though the words that I said couldn’t help contain a bit of personal feeling in them.
The gods did have some kind of plan for me that was different from the rest of the world.
I had already confirmed this with everything that I had gotten from the God of Creation…
Still, this wasn’t the time to be dragging out these emotions.
The Fenrir gave a nod before Zephyrus said, “You’re right. What matters now is how we deal with the forces of Destruction that are trying to invade the continent. Unfortunately, there’s not much that I can actually tell you.”
Everyone couldn’t help knitting their brows when they heard this.
If there wasn’t much that this god could say, what was the point of having a messenger relay this message in the first place.
It seemed like a waste of time…
Though no one said this out loud since the other side was a god and it wasn’t as if it was easy to say something like this to a god.
The Fenrir turned to look at one of the Feather Race members before saying, “These children are my creation, so it could be said that I have a special connection to them.”
Turning back to everyone, Zephyrus said, “I hope that you will look after them for me.”
