Chapter 1810: A true god’s messenger (4)
I didn’t reach out my hand after the Fenrir said this.
Instead, I looked at the Fenrir with a dubious look before asking, “Does it have to be me? Is there anyone else that you can give this Mark of God to?”
After all, I didn’t think that it would be that useful if I were to receive another Mark of God.
I already had the Mark of God from three different gods, so it wasn’t as if adding one more would make a big difference. At the same time, I was relying more on my own divine energy most of the time to fight.
So even if I were to receive this Mark of God, it wouldn’t actually make that big of a difference.
The one thing that would make a difference was if someone else were to receive this Mark of God instead. After all, that Mark of God would enable them to use the relics and fight with divine energy.
That would mean having one more person that was capable of dealing a powerful blow to the forces of Destruction.
If another person received this Mark of God, it would be far more helpful than if I received another Mark of God.
Only it didn’t seem like the God of Wind was happy to hear this.
Right after I said this, it seemed like the Fenrir was offended by what I said based on the expression on its face. It was looking at me as if it was trying to figure out if I was being serious or not.
That was why I said in a serious voice, “It would honestly be more helpful if someone else were to receive this Mark of God.”
“There’s no one else here that can receive it.” The Fenrir said in a cold voice.
All of the people from the Holy Empire looked disappointed when they heard this.
It was the same for the Feather Race that were in the room.
After all, they thought that they would have the highest chance of receiving a Mark of God if Zwein weren’t to take it.
The Holy Empire was filled with fanatical worshippers of gods, there was no one better than them to receive a Mark of God.
The Feather Race was even the children of the God of Wind, so they would also be the perfect group to receive this Mark of God.
It was just that the God of Wind wasn’t interested in giving them this Mark of God.
Still I couldn’t help asking, “Are you sure that there’s no one else…”
Before I could finish what I was going to say, the God of Wind said, “This is the first time that someone has complained about receiving my blessing. I’ve really never been insulted like this before.”
Some of the others couldn’t help looking nervous when they heard this, but I just revealed a bitter smile.
Before I could say anything else, the Fenrir suddenly came forward and tapped its nose against my hand even though it was by my side. It didn’t seem like the God of Wind cared about receiving permissions anymore, they were just going to force this Mark of God on me.
When it was done, there was a new Mark of God that appeared on my hand.
After they had finished giving this Mark of God, the God of Wind said, “This is my first time feeling this exhausted giving my blessing to someone.”
I didn’t say anything as I still had the same bitter smile on my face.
These gods really were the same, they all just forced whatever they wanted onto mortals like this.
Still, I could feel the divine energy that was coming from it.
Even if it wasn’t by much, it did mean that I was stronger than before after receiving this Mark of God from the God of Wind.
The God of Wind looked at the others one more time before saying, “I wish you all luck in your future battles and remember that the gods are on your side.”
As soon as their voice fell, the light that had been around the Fenrir started to fade away.
This was clearly a sign that the God of Wind was leaving.
As this happened, the Feather Race suddenly came forward and bowed to the Fenrir as if they were sending the God of Wind off. The ones from the Holy Empire did something similar, albeit they were a step slower compared to the Feather Race.
The rest of the representatives from the racial alliance just slowly did their own thing.
There were some that bowed in the direction of the Fenrir and there were some that just stood there in a daze with a look on their face as if they didn’t know what to think.
Though the look of respect in their eyes showed that they did feel respect towards the God of Wind.
Once it was all over, the Fenrir returned to normal and then pushed me back onto the throne. As this was happening, there was another bitter smile that appeared on my face.
However, while I was being pushed towards the throne, I couldn’t help looking at the Fenrir with a strange look.
That was because there was this new sensation that was coming from the Fenrir that wasn’t there before. It felt like it had something to do with the Mark of God that the God of Wind had bestowed on me.
When I sat down, I was still looking at the Fenrir with a strange look.
The Fenrir didn’t seem to mind any of this as it wrapped around the throne once more.
Only after the Fenrir sat down did it say, “I’m looking forward to working with you in the future.”
I still had the strange look on my face, but now I had figured out why there was this strange connection that I felt towards the Fenrir.
It was all because of a certain something that the God of Wind had snuck into the Mark of God that it bestowed to me.
