Chapter 1847: Some kind of mutation (1)
“There is something here.” I said as I suddenly opened my eyes.
That was because I received a signal from the divine energy inside of me.
It was the divine energy reacting to something in the area, but it didn’t seem like I was able to see it with my eyes. It was almost as if there was something that was invisible that was there.
However, even if it was invisible…I would have been able to sense the corruption energy coming from it earlier than this.
In that case, it could only be one thing.
“Freeze.”
As soon as I said this, there was ice that formed in front of me.
This ice wasn’t targeting anything, it was ice that was formed in the area that was in front of me to trap everything that was there. I couldn’t actually see what it was that was there, so I was just going to freeze everything to trap it.
The ice spread quickly and whatever it was wasn’t able to escape in the end.
Once the ice had trapped the thing that was inside, I saw what it was.
It was a fly.
A very tiny fly that was trapped inside of the ice.
However, I knew that this thing wasn’t an ordinary fly because of one thing.
It was the corruption energy that was coming from the fly, this definitely wasn’t something that a normal fly would be able to release. That was why I knew that this fly was something that the forces of Destruction had sent.
“They can even corrupt a creature this small and send it to spy for them. It’s no wonder they were able to figure out all those different things about us previously.”
The royal guards were confused since they couldn’t see the fly at all.
The ones that could see it with their sharp eyes were confused since they couldn’t sense the corruption energy that was coming from it at all. This fly was too small to contain a large amount of corruption energy, so that was why they didn’t feel anything at all.
Once I had figured out that it was a fly and that it was a fly that was filled with corruption energy, there was no reason for me to hold back any longer.
That was why I suddenly squeezed my hands together.
The moment that I squeezed my hands like this, the ice inside of that block of ice suddenly compacted and squeezed down on the fly. Just the pressure from the ice alone was already strong, but there was also the purification power of the divine energy that was there.
With all of this, the fly just didn’t stand a single chance of survival.
After it was crushed, I didn’t even bother checking the fly itself as I turned back to look at the little girl.
There was a strange look that was on my face as I looked at her.
I had doubts about her words previously, but what she had demonstrated now was more than enough for me to believe her. The dark swirls that she saw were without a doubt traces of destruction energy.
This fly was most like a spy from the forces of Destruction.
She had performed a great merit and made us aware of something that we weren’t aware of previously. This kind of thing naturally deserved a prize, but I realized something as I was about to say something to her.
“What is your name?” This almost seemed like a joke or harassment at this point since we had already been through so much with this little girl, but we didn’t know her name at all.
It was just that there were all kinds of things that came up that we didn’t get to it in the end.
“Dorothy.” The little girl said before asking, “Big brother, what is your name?”
“I’m Zwein.” I said before asking, “If you don’t mind, would you let me take a closer look at your body? I want to see if there’s anything different about you.”
“Does that mean that there’s something wrong with me?” Dorothy asked in a worried voice.
I didn’t hesitate to shake my head as I said, “Of course not. I just want to see what is special about you that you’re able to see the dark swirls. At the same time, I want to see if I can help you find a way to stop seeing them.”
Dorothy didn’t respond right away when she heard this as she just looked at me as if she was thinking this over.
But in the end, she gave a slow nod and raised her hand as if she was offering it to me to check.
I took her hand and raised my hand as well to put her hand in mine. Then I didn’t do anything else as I closed my eyes as if I was concentrating on something.
While I had my eyes closed, I was focused on stirring the divine energy that was inside of me to see if there was a reaction. I was curious if it was because of the corruption of the corruption energy that caused Dorothy to develop this ability.
It didn’t seem like the divine energy was going to react at first, but then it suddenly gave a small reaction.
It was a very faint reaction, but this did show that there was this corruption energy that was inside of her. Though I wasn’t all that surprised since I had figured that this was the case or she wouldn’t have developed this ability.
Now it was all about finding where this corruption energy was to see if I could help her.
I focused even more on the divine energy to see where the reaction was pointing at.
But when I found the region that the divine energy was reacting to the most, I couldn’t help knitting my brows.
“This is a bit troublesome to deal with…” I couldn’t help muttering to myself when I found this out.
