Chapter 1848: Some kind of mutation (2)
Dorothy had sharp ears and she heard me when I said this, so she looked at me with a worried look and asked, “What’s wrong?”
With a faint smile, I said, “It’s not that I can’t deal with it, it’s just that I’ll have to be careful since it’s in a sensitive area.”
“Sensitive area?” She asked in a confused voice when she heard this.
With a slight nod, I pointed at her eyes and said, “The corruption energy seemed to have gathered in your eyes, that is why you’re able to see the black swirls.”
Dorothy had an even more confused look on her face when she heard this, but there wasn’t anything that I could say about this. After all, this was what I had found when I checked her condition.
But the fact that it had gathered in her eyes meant that it was a problem.
After all, the eyes were sensitive compared to the other parts of the body. If there was something that was inside of the eyes that needed to be purified, then it would be harder since there would be a stronger reaction.
It wasn’t as if using divine energy to purify corruption energy didn’t have any effect on the person that it was used on.
It was a clashing of two different forms of energy, so it was dangerous no matter how one looked at it. It was just that the divine energy was a more subtle form of energy and would be able to heal any damage that it caused.
So for most other parts of the body, it wasn’t that hard to heal.
At the same time, if it was an overall purification, then the corruption energy was more spread out and so would the divine energy. It wouldn’t cause as much of a burden on the body of the person receiving
But when it was concentrated in a single part and in a sensitive part like this, it would be hard to purify it without causing damage.
That was why it was troublesome.
“Is there a need to purify it?” Dorothy asked after thinking for a long time.
“Well, it doesn’t seem like there’s a large concentration of it and it even seems like you’re in control of it…I’m not certain what will happen, but I don’t think that it’s absolutely necessary for us to purify you right now.” This was my honest opinion since I really didn’t know anything else about this.
It would do more harm than help to purify her when the corruption energy was calm like this.
It was like how a benign tumour worked…provoking it might have unexpected results that wouldn’t exactly be good…
After thinking about it, Dorothy said, “Well, it seems like I can do some good with this ability, so I want to keep it for now.”
I was surprised to hear her say this.
After all, this didn’t seem like a thing that a young girl like her would say.
It didn’t even seem like she was old enough to fully understand what she was saying…
But I knew that she did understand since I had already seen how intelligent she was.
As such, I just gave a simple nod and patted her on the shoulder before saying, “Do you want to come with us? I know that you have no one else to be with right now and it would be good for me to watch over you if anything happens.”
Dorothy didn’t answer right away, but eventually she gave a nod.
It was hard to imagine what she was going through at this moment, but I could see that she was quite the strong girl that she was able to keep it together after all of this. It was clear that this had been a big trauma for her, but she was able to keep it together in the end.
It really was admirable how she was able to keep it together like this.
I comforted her a bit longer before sending her away with the royal guards.
Since we would be taking care of her, I was planning to treat her like one of my own children.
The royal guards also felt admiration for Dorothy after seeing the way that she reacted to this.
Once she was gone, I couldn’t help knitting my brows.
“What is it?” Klein asked when he saw me like this.
I didn’t answer right away as I continued looking in the direction that Dorothy had gone off in.
After a while, I finally said, “It’s strange how there was some kind of mutation that happened with her.”
“Mutation?” Klein couldn’t help asking in a confused voice.
With a slow nod, I said, “I didn’t want to say it in front of her since I didn’t want to scare her, but there’s something strange about the corruption energy inside of her.”
Klein didn’t ask anything, but the look on his face was enough to show his curiosity.
I didn’t say anything either until I finally explained, “It seems like it’s combined with her body in some way. That was why I said that it would be troublesome to deal with the corruption energy inside of her.”
“Wasn’t it because of the position of the corruption energy?”
“That’s part of it, but the truth is that it’s combined with her. I don’t know what’s so special about her, but she certainly is different from the others that were affected by the corruption energy.”
“Then there’s a chance that it will take control of her?” Klein asked in a wary voice.
I didn’t answer right away, but eventually I gave a nod as I said, “It’s a possibility.”
Then after a pause, I added, “But we can’t say that this is certain and I don’t plan on judging someone for something that they haven’t done yet.”
After saying this, I turned to give Klein a specific look.
He gave a nod in response, but there was still a wary look in his eyes.
I didn’t say anything else as I gave a sigh and walked away.
