They didn’t break free of the containment, but it seemed like they were reacting because she pointed at them.
They moved inside of their containers as if they were responding to some call from Dorothy.
I didn’t jump to any conclusions when I saw this, but it was clear that the others didn’t treat it as lightly as me.
The moment that they saw the corruption energy reacting to Dorothy, they prepared to fight. Even those that had been trying to figure out how she found these samples earlier looked like they were prepared to take care of her at any moment.
It seemed that no one treated this matter lightly.
But before they could do anything, I raised my hand and gestured for them to calm down.
While I had no idea how she was doing this, it wasn’t as if I was going to let them do something to a child.
It didn’t feel right to do anything without making sure what this was.
After making them calm down, I asked, “What are you doing?”
Dorothy had been in a bit of a daze as she manipulated the corruption energy, which was why she didn’t notice what happened. It was only when I called out to her that she came back to her senses.
She looked at me and said, “I don’t know. It just felt like there was some kind of connection between me and this thing.”
As she said this, she slowly lowered her hand and the corruption energy samples stopped reacting. It seemed that only when she was concentrating on it would she be able to manipulate the corruption energy.
Though how she was able to do it…was still unknown.
Was it possible that a mutation would give her the power to do something like this?
In the past, we had already seen what happened when someone was corrupted by the corruption energy. It shouldn’t reach a point where they would be able to do something like this.
It really seemed like this wasn’t just a simple mutation with the way that she did this.
Now that she came back from her daze, it seemed like Dorothy realized that she had done something wrong and revealed a worried look.
Seeing this, I said, “You don’t have to be worried. We don’t do anything to you just because you can control the corruption energy. But we do have to figure out why you can do this since it’s quite a dangerous power.”
Dorothy slowly nodded, but there was still the same worried look on her face.
After all, she could see the way that everyone around us was looking at her.
Even if they had put down their weapons because of the order from me, it wasn’t as if they were going to drop this matter that easily. It seemed like they were still wary of Dorothy even though she had stopped doing what she had been doing previously.
“Can you do it again?”
The moment that I asked this, all of them turned to look at me as if they were asking if I was being serious. However, I just ignored all of them looking at me as I waited for Dorothy to respond.
She slowly gave a nod before turning back to the samples and raising her hand.
When she did, the same thing happened where there was a reaction that came from the corruption energy.
Though this time, it seemed like they reacted even more strongly than before.
It seemed that since she was aware of what she was doing, there was a stronger reaction that came from them.
It seemed that Dorothy was able to consciously control the corruption energy that was here.
“Is there anything else that you can make them do? Can you make them calm down?” I asked her without a single care for the way that the others looked at me.
Dorothy didn’t answer right away as she looked at the corruption energy samples for a bit, but eventually she said, “Let me try.”
It wasn’t as easy for Dorothy this time as a look of struggle appeared on her face. It seemed like it was taking her some effort to control the corruption energy samples now.
But in response to this, it seemed like the corruption energy samples were slowly calming down. They seemed to freeze in place and just waited as if they were waiting for orders from Dorothy.
With the way that they acted, it really seemed like she had full control over them.
“Open the containers and let them out.”
Everyone looked at me as if I was crazy and none of them moved because of this.
I wasn’t surprised when I saw them like this, but I still insisted, “Just do it. I’ll be here to take care of it if something happens and we still have more samples.”
In the end, no one looked like they were happy about this. However, they still followed my orders and went forward to do something with the corruption energy samples.
It didn’t take them long to open up the containers and release them.
The corruption energy didn’t seem to do anything after it was released, it just remained stationary as if it was still waiting for an order from Dorothy.
“See what you can do with it.”
This was a vague statement, but Dorothy seemed to understand what I meant by this.
That was why the corruption energy suddenly came together when she closed her hands.
After the corruption energy came together like this, it seemed to take a form.
The moment that it took this form, all of the others immediately pulled out their weapons without hesitation. They didn’t even care about the way that I used my hand to gesture at them to calm down, it was as if the only thing that they were thinking about was how they could destroy this thing.
Thought that wasn’t strange since the corruption energy had taken the form of a corruption energy monster.
