It seemed like everyone was about to attack the corruption energy monster, but they stopped when they saw Dorothy suddenly move in front of it.
Though it seemed like there were a few of them that looked like they were planning on taking down Dorothy as well.
They seemed to view her as a threat just like the corruption energy monster.
Thought that wasn’t strange since Dorothy was the one that had created this corruption energy monster.
Since she was able to summon one of these corruption energy monsters, there was no doubt that she would be able to summon another. As long as she had enough corruption energy, then she would be able to do it again.
“Move out of the way. We have to take this thing down before it causes any harm.”
Though this was said, it didn’t seem like Dorothy was planning to move with the way that she stood in front of the corruption energy monster. With how she stood there, it was as if she was planning on protecting it to the end.
With a determined look on her face, she looked at me and said, “It’s my friend.”
It didn’t seem like anyone believed her, but I stepped forward with a sigh and said, “You have to prove that this is the case or else even I can’t help you.”
Dorothy gave a nod when she heard this before turning to the corruption energy monster to say, “Sit.”
The corruption energy monster quickly sat down on the ground when it heard this, but the problem was that the moment that it made contact with the ground like this…
“Look, it’s already spreading the corruption energy. We have to stop it now before it can do anything else.”
I raised my hand and created a circle of ice around the corruption energy monster.
It stood up right away when this happened and it looked like it was afraid of the ice that I created.
After all, this ice was created with divine energy and purified the corruption energy that this corruption energy monster spread.
But I didn’t do anything else other than purify that corruption energy.
Instead, I looked at Dorothy as if I was saying, “Keep going.”
Dorothy gave a nod before coming forward towards the corruption energy monster and reaching her hand out to say, “Hand.”
The corruption energy monster still looked afraid because of the circle of ice that I created, but it still listened to the order that Dorothy gave it and reached a hand out.
When everyone was prepared to save Dorothy just in case this corruption energy monster did anything, they were surprised to find that nothing happened.
Even though Dorothy made contact with the corruption energy monster, she didn’t get corrupted by this. That just made everyone narrow their eyes and look at her with distrust when they saw this happen.
After all, there was only one explanation why she didn’t get corrupted by the corruption energy when she touched the corruption energy monster.
It was that she was already corrupted by it, so she couldn’t be corrupted anymore.
But I didn’t say anything as I watched Dorothy carefully.
I was focused on her with my divine energy to make sure that nothing happened to her and from the sensation that came from the divine energy, it didn’t seem like anything was happening to her.
It seemed that she was indeed still herself and that the corruption energy couldn’t spread to her.
It seemed that she had some kind of resistance to this corruption energy.
“This isn’t something a simple mutation can do…” I couldn’t help thinking to myself when I saw this.
Dorothy went on to do several other things that would have shown that the corruption energy monster wasn’t dangerous at all. Or in a normal case, it would have proven that just like how a wild animal could prove that it was tamed.
Only no one really seemed to be in the mood to notice this.
The only thing that they recognized was the danger that came from the corruption energy monster and the fact that Dorothy could touch it. It seemed that the more that she interacted with it, the more they thought that she was dangerous.
The one thing that she did prove from all of this was that she was immune to the effects of the corruption energy.
Though by doing this, it also seemed to make them think that she was more dangerous than she actually was.
What I was thinking was that Dorothy really was a unique person that she was able to develop this kind of physique.
It wasn’t a simple mutation, it was a completely new physique that made her one with the corruption energy without actually making her corrupted by it.
There was a part of me that was wondering if she would become stronger if she were to absorb more corruption energy. But there was also a part of me that wondered if she would lose control because of this increased corruption energy that filled her.
It really seemed like it was a fine line that had to be danced around with the way that her body was.
But before that, I should stop these people from actually doing anything to Dorothy.
“Enough, she’s already shown that this thing is under her control. As long as it’s under her control, then it won’t harm us and we can study it properly.”
There were some that were tempted when they heard this since we had never actually studied a corruption energy monster before. If we could do it now, then it would be the first time that this happened.
There was no doubt that this would be a very valuable experience since we could determine the weaknesses of this thing and save a lot of trouble fighting it in the future.
“It has to remain in the circle for now. You’ve seen what it can do if it touches random things.” I said to Dorothy.
She seemed like she wasn’t happy about this, but she also nodded in agreement in the end.
After all, she knew that this was the only compromise that she would get.
