Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1852: Not just a simple mutation (3)

Chapter 1852: Not just a simple mutation (3)
The corruption energy monster was actually surprisingly docile in the end.
It was all because of Dorothy’s words to it, telling it to stay still and wait for her to come back.
With the way that it looked at Dorothy as she was being taken away, it really seemed like it was a puppy that was being abandoned.
Only it wasn’t as if the corruption energy monster would have been able to do anything since I had trapped it with my divine energy ice.
If it were to take a step out of this circle, then it would have been immediately purified.
The one thing that I did take note of was that Dorothy wasn’t affected by the divine energy ice at all. Even though she should have been corrupted by the corruption energy, it didn’t seem to affect her at all.
Was it because she was resistant, was it because the corruption energy was too weak, was it because the corruption energy was a part of her, or was it because of something else?
There were too many questions that came to mind after seeing what Dorothy was capable of, so there was no way of telling what it was.
But this wasn’t something that could be forgotten.
I could see the way that the others were looking at her.
They all looked at her as if she was some kind of enemy, as if she was something to be eliminated.
The fact that she had been able to summon this corruption energy monster…it did make me agree with what they were thinking. It was a dangerous power that didn’t seem like a good idea to leave out in the open like this.
If she were to turn on us one day…
But before any of that, the thing that I wanted to do was find out why she was capable of doing this.
After all, it wasn’t as if a simple mutation would be enough to do this.
It wasn’t as if a simple mutation would give a child like Dorothy power that was equal to an Apostle of Destruction. We had only ever seen the Apostle of Destruction do something like this after all.
I didn’t believe that she was lying to us about not knowing anything, so that meant that there had to be something special about her.
Once we left this place, the first thing that was suggested was…
“We should lock her up.”
It was only natural that Dorothy would reveal a scared look when she heard this.
The one that proposed this didn’t even seem to care that Dorothy heard this. The way that they did it was almost as if they wanted her to hear it so that it would scare her.
I couldn’t help narrowing my eyes to look at the one that proposed this, but it didn’t seem like that person was planning to back down.
I could understand why they did this, but I really didn’t approve of the way that they did this.
“It’s a useful power and as long as she shows no sign of going berserk, then there’s no reason for us to do this. This power of hers could give us a chance to properly study corruption energy and find the weaknesses of the forces of Destruction.”
After a pause, I couldn’t help adding, “Or at the very least, it would at least give us a better understanding of the power of Destruction.”
I didn’t say anything else after this since there was enough sincerity in what I said for now.
What was needed was to see how the others would react.
I could see that there were some that were tempted because of what I said.
But at the same time, I could also tell that there were some that didn’t seem to trust Dorothy.
Then there were the ones that seemed neutral about all of this.
The ones that remained neutral were in the majority since most people didn’t want to reveal what they were thinking. They wanted to use this chance to gauge what the others were thinking first before making their positions known.
After all, there was no telling what the others were thinking about and there was no telling how this would turn out.
This was a delicate matter for the racial alliance, so no one wanted to be the one that caused this break to happen.
The racial alliance was necessary for the safety of the entire continent.
But eventually, it seemed like more and more people were being convinced.
It didn’t have anything to do with what I had said, it was more that they trusted me to take care of this matter.
I was naturally glad to see that they trusted me, but I could see that this alone wasn’t enough.
So that was why I said, “I’ll keep this girl with me so that nothing will happen.”
When I made this offer, it seemed like there were more people that were moved because of this. After all, there was no one better to watch over Dorothy than me.
If anything were to happen, I would have the strongest weapon to take care of her and the disaster that she caused.
But there were still some that had worried looks on their faces.
After being silent for a bit, they suddenly asked, “Will you be able to finish this matter if it comes to that?”
Everyone held their breath when they heard this.
Some of them couldn’t help looking at the one that asked this with narrowed eyes as if accusing them of something, but they didn’t seem bothered by this as they continued waiting for an answer from me.
I didn’t answer right away either as I looked at them in silence for a bit, but eventually I raised my hand.
The moment that my hand came up, there was this icicle that suddenly came out of the ground and placed itself at Dorothy’s throat.
“Does this answer your question?”
