Chapter 1887: Suppress it
“What can you do about it?”
I wasn’t the one that asked this, it was Dorothy herself who suddenly asked this.
“There’s no need…” I was about to stop her, but she actually stopped me with a single look before turning back to look at the miracle healer.
The way that she looked at him made it very clear what she was thinking.
The miracle healer didn’t say anything as he looked at her as if he was thinking about this, but eventually he did say, “Well, I have a way to suppress this.”
“Then do it.” Dorothy said without any hesitation.
She was even so determined that she took a step forward as if she was no longer afraid of him.
Only before they could do anything, I raised my hand to stop her from committing to something that was dangerous.
The miracle healer also didn’t reply to her as he looked at me.
It was clear that he was looking at me as if he was asking me for permission. Or at the very least, he looked at me as if he was waiting for me to confirm this.
Dorothy looked at me as if she was doing all that she could to convince me.
It even looked like she was saying that she would go through with this even if I didn’t agree with it.
But even when she looked at me like this, I remained there with a firm look on my face. I wasn’t about to back down without saying anything, at the very least I had to find out what the miracle healer meant by this.
“Will there be any side effects?” I asked him.
The miracle healer thought about it before saying, “There shouldn’t be since I’ll be suppressing it with something natural.”
He looked at me as he said this, but he didn’t look at me as if he was speaking to me.
He looked at me as if there was something that he wanted from me.
When he looked at me like this, I could already guess what he was thinking about.
When I had released that corruption energy sample earlier, I had used the divine energy to suppress it so that the corruption energy wasn’t able to do anything. This was something that the miracle healer hadn’t missed and he clearly paid close attention to this.
That meant that if he wanted to suppress the corruption energy that came from inside of Dorothy, it would mean that he would be using the divine energy.
This did seem like the best solution if one didn’t know about the natural conflict that existed between the corruption energy and the divine energy.
What the divine energy and the corruption energy had was a mutual suppression of each other.
If the divine energy was strong enough, then it would suppress the corruption energy.
If the corruption energy was strong enough, then it would suppress the divine energy.
This kind of dynamic was just like fire and water.
However, this kind of dynamic wasn’t a harmless one.
Just like how water and fire changed the state of each other, it was the same for the divine energy and the corruption energy.
The divine energy I released earlier had been enough to suppress the corruption energy since it was clearly much stronger than the corruption energy. But if this wasn’t the case, then these two forms of energy would have clashed with each other.
In the end, it would have resulted in one of the two forms of energy being converted into something else.
The corruption energy could break down the divine energy.
The divine energy could break down the corruption energy as well.
If the divine energy was used to suppress the corruption energy inside of Dorothy’s body, then it would have caused it to break down and it would have damaged Dorothy.
This kind of haphazard plan definitely was not one that I could accept that easily.
So I narrowed my eyes to look at the miracle healer before saying, “You don’t know anything about them, so how could you think that this will work?”
The miracle healer didn’t deny this as he said with a nod, “Give me a sample and I’ll study it. I’ll find a way so that they will be able to restrain each other and suppress each other.”
I looked at him with doubt when he said this.
If it was anyone else, I would have already marched out without even listening to his crazy ideas. But since it was this miracle healer, I didn’t march out right away and listened to what he said.
Still, it seemed like it was too much of a gamble…
“Fine, I’ll create a sample for you. However, you have to show me that you’re able to control it or else I’ll take it back.”
The miracle healer’s eyes lit up before he quickly nodded in agreement.
In the end, I agreed because of the way that Dorothy looked at me.
It was clear that she didn’t want to give up on this chance, even if it was a long shot.
She was a smart child, so she could understand what the miracle healer had been implying when he said those things. Once she figured that she was a child that was born from an experiment by the forces of Destruction…
It was already good enough that she was able to remain strong, but it was clear that she was trying to compensate with this.
But since this was her choice, it wasn’t as if I should try to shut it down.
Since this was her choice, I should be the one that supported her.
“This is quite easy.” The miracle healer said as he controlled the bit of divine energy that I created.
I knew that he would be able to do this since he was the hero unit that I came here to recruit, but it did seem like it was a bit too easy for him with how he controlled it.
It almost didn’t seem fair…
